They normally always look at family first when there's no witnesses 1/4 of all murders are committed by family members. they'd been remiss not to investigate the family.
Not to mention family might know of issues going on that led to such violence.
IMO, anyone at a murder scene is “suspect”. Even if arriving after receiving notification.

Darn you’re spot on. The only thing I can tell you about bedbugs other than bringing them back from DC is what I know to be the 122% absolute fact that watched on CSI on tv a long time ago. Here it is;

Bedbugs like mosquitoes bite humans and animals and feed off blood. That blood can be analyzed for DNA.

Now I’ve learned, after watching shows about Alaska, the Bush people, life below zero and Palin, that Gil Grissom might have been dramatizing bed bug facts to get more viewers (there are subgroups of entomologists that are nuts over bed bugs). So I decided to research the little critters. I will post links in a few.

Now I can see why the bed bugs can be important to the case, never thought about them being able to extract DNA from them, that is an aw haw moment for me.

Raincoat type gear maybe. Would be easy to dispose of in a burn barrel even. Would also disguise from FR's small child if he awoke.
Hazmat suit?

Maybe they purchased what might've called "barn boots" for work in the barnyard. Walmart sells something like that for $14.99. Not that unusual if everybody needed a pair---hey wait, they'd double for messy jobs besides barn yards.
But we don't know whether they purchased barn boots or high heels as far as I know.

I done wore barn boots working on the farm until I was 18. Those boots better fit and fit well because blisters form pretty fast.

4 pairs of shoes ain’t no coinceeeedence. Especially if identical and same size.

Even taking into the presumption of innocence buying shoes ( that may have matched an elderly Manley) if the identical size as well is pretty indicative of gross suspicion. Those purchases can be search by inventory control and firefly to the point of purchase.

LE has enough time of convict. I’m convinced of it.

As always. If I put it to paper or in a post it’s my opinion.

You're welcome. Just felt that part was relevant, it says so much that we didn't know until the indictments.

Earlier, Count One I believe, IMO, states Kenny was killed to cover up the other murders. I dare say that without re-reading, but that's what I took from it, IMO/MOO.

edit: Hmm, the Ohio AG web link to the indictments has been unplugged. Shows a blank page for me now. Disappearing info again? Doesn't even show in the address bar. Deleted with extreme prejudice.

Yes, that was in Specification 4 of Count 1. Just awful, all of it.

I guess I got lucky with a good fit. I slip off my inside shoes and put on my barn boots any time I go outside when it's this muddy. I live near the river so that's pretty much of the time in the winter. Impossible to till the ground like this.

Good thing about barn boots, they defect snake bites. Probably not as good as Kevlar but you should have seen the size of the copperhead that popped the side of my boot.

So I wear them outside after that. With one kidney can't take chances.

They will leave blisters if you don't wear socks. But other than the time I left out socks I haven't gotten a blister. My current pair is a little uncomfortable where the dog chewed the top, but they don't slow me down. .

So point being if they wore barn boots I think they could have maneuvered around effectively to do the crimes.

Does it say they were all the same size? It's not inconceivable 4 related adults wore a similar size, at least the related guys. My menfolk all wear about the same size. But maybe not me. Maybe AW already had some. If so why 4 pair? Another killer, although they seem sure it's the Fearsome Foursome.

Where does it come from JM wore the same type shoe, or is this speculation that Ws were trying to frame JM by footgear?

Just a "way out there thought" maybe he did. Wonder if a "flesh wound" could be treated with the same rx's available through most veterinary supplies found in a breeder's medicine cabinet?

Yes, they sure can be used on humans. Many of the medications that are used on animals are as well the type used on humans. IMO and have used some for my own personal wounds from wire scratches and such.

We use bag balm here at my home. On almost all wounds. That’s meant for cows udders and it works like a charm on human injuries, cracked skin, chapped lips, etc. Antibiotics that are used by veterinarians are most times the same given to humans.

There was a pharmacist here selling a special hand/skin cream for years. The women loved it. It was finally revealed to just be repackaged bag balm. He made no claims about it that it would do anything special. He just offered it in a plain jar with the name of his drugstore,"Hand Cream" on the label with the ingredients....

Think it possible that CR1 may have gotten off a shot? Both brass catchers failing at the same time, would be awfully fortunate for LE. It could happen though. I've just wondered that about CR1 since he is said to have had a defensive wound, so, I felt, he was up and mobile. Wish he'd nailed at least one.

I've always suspected that could happen. From what we've been able to learn, CR1 put up quite a fight. It's very possible he shot or struck one of the killers, or they were wounded accidentally. While the gathering of DNA from Rhoden relatives may have been routine, it's also an indicator there was some kind of DNA left behind by the killers.

Welcome OhioCountry girl and others! It's great to have new folks here sharing their ideas and otherwise being part of the WS "community"! :)

Would it depend on how many brass catchers and weapons were used? If multiple weapons were used, it would make sense there were brass catchers on each one. With that said, multiple brass catchers could hold 32 casings. Of course that all depends on what types of gun(s) were used as well.

And if some guns were revolvers, no casing catcher is needed. It could be some that were shot fewer times were shot with revolvers because they generally hold fewer bullets...

It was said two types of casings were found, it doesn't mean one or more of them were not from CRsr shooting back. That could be the case in my opinion...

Why did the LEO start investigating the Manley out first, plus Jake was buddy up with James Manley, that how he might got the brand of boots they ware. JMO.

The Manlys were first because they found the bodies and were closely related and BJM was there daily.

Welcome!
I've heard of people buying and using drugs sold for aquarium fish use.

I agree because DeWine was already aware of the troubles facing Sheriff Reader when the arrests and plans for prosecution were carried out. As was already pointed out by someone previously, the financial troubles were already an issue during the recent sheriff election and before the more recent anonymous complaint was made.
Link:
Pike County sheriff's race among dirtiest in Ohio

At the time of the murders, Gov Kasich was running for POTUS and DeWine had already announced his plans to run for governor. There was absolutely no way the AG was going to allow Reader or Junk to remain in charge of this investigation. The Pike County Coroner said he was stopped by BCI before he even got to the crime scenes and told they and DeWine were in charge of the investigation.

Agree also, that most of the allegations were floated years ago by anonymous sources. It's small town politics and LE stuff. JMO, none of it is relevant to the investigation. Convictions will be based on evidence and witness testimony.

The defense teams should be careful of what they stir up. From what I've read, some of them have sketchy pasts.

Plus a prior conviction for violence with a firearm.

You make a good point. From the preliminary AR's it seemed likely the killers used at least 2 different weapons, so there's still a chance investigators found different types of shell casings from the killers' weapons. Let's hope so.
