I think the move to Alaska is part of the motive. That dream of moving to Alaska had been in the works for some time before the murders per the pastor in Alaska. The W's had visited AK numerous times and I think they dreamed of moving there and "living off the land" thus satisfying their desire to hunt and to alleviate their financial woes by getting rid of a house mortgage and other bills including utilities.

Something happened to accelerate that dream after their move off the FWF to the Peterson RD house. Maybe the reality of having to pay a house payment every month and paying for their own food and utilities?

I think when Jake and Hanna broke up and it became obvious she was not going to AK with them, therefore SW would not be going either, they first tried to get her to sign over rights to SW. When that didn't work they resorted to murder, killing 8 people. I think Jake and Angie were the driving force behind this. Jake because he hated Hanna for leaving him and having another man's child and Angie because no one was going to get in the way of her"Life Below Zero" dream.

I also think another part of that motive was revenge. I think that the W's started out with the plan of intimidating Hanna into signing over her parental rights. When that didn't go over murdering her was next. I think the plan to kill them all came after the rumored fight between Billy and Chris in which it was rumored that Chris won. It was a revenge and pride thing then. The W's took on the "wipe them all out" mentality of Anse Hatfield in which I think Billy was the driving force with prideful George backing him up all the way.

Thus involving all 4 of them in a massacre with each of the 4 having different motives for killing 8 people.

JMO
This is an interesting perspective. If Angela and Billy wanted to go, or even just Angela, the second part of the statement could potentially be referring to their own children and of course grandchildren.

"There certainly was obsession with custody, obsession with control of children," DeWine said. "This is the most bizarre story I've ever seen."

I honestly think their arrogance led them to believe their plan was flawless. I’m not sure if I think they’re all narcissistic or not. I think AW thought her military expertise helped them create the perfect murders. They went to elaborate measures (specific shoes, spying electronically, etc), yet they had to have made mistakes to become suspects. The move to Alaska didn’t help them. That move baffles me. I wish I knew their thought process on it. I think they couldn’t have made themselves look guiltier if they had skywritten ‘We Are Guilty’. That’s all JMO. I’d like to hear others thoughts on their plans as well.
I wish I could read their minds as well. Did they think they could skip town to Russia, hoping to find a northern coyote? Or did they think they could vanish into the Alaskan wilderness? Found out it's hard there even with modern amenities and realize they're basically a bunch of marshmallows?
Maybe the Jet Puffs realized what modern technology could do, but really hadn't internalized how it changed forensics, and really thought distancing themselves would help.

The Cincinnati Enquirer has a family picture of them from 2017 and he doesn't have the tattoo then.

Rhoden family massacre: Wagner family tries to create new home in Alaska amid rumors
This photo enlarged: NO SCORPION TATOO on right index finger!!! Shocking beyond, beyond.

I think it was said parts to make a silencer and not a piece of the actual silencer. Parts or not, the lab results have some type of match from it that put the final puzzle piece in place and gave the green light for arrests. And it was never revealed where or how these parts were found.

Scroll down and you'll see the actual add selling the excursion. And you decide if this evidence list is real, posted by the guy who bought the excursion.
Evidence ?? or Hoax ??

Any idea where that came from? TIA

Posted in the Rhoden Family Massacre Facebook Private Group. The "evidence" screen shot came from a guy's facebook, the guy who supposedly bought the excursion.

Maybe real or maybe not real. I don't know if it's real, it definitely could be fake.

THE ONLY REASON I POSTED THE "EVIDENCE" PHOTO IS BECAUSE IT IS ATTACHED TO THE AD---- I COULD NOT SEPARATE IT FROM THE AD. I JUST WANTED TO POST THE AD THAT ANGELA POSTED WHEN SHE WAS SELLING THE EXCURSION.

GRACIE55 You are not allowed to call anyone Jet Puffs, before noon on Sunday! I could have short circuited my keyboard when I chortled and guffawed at reading your post. My morning French Roast spewed everywhere....and I my nose stings, too...dhaaang. Sometimes the best observations are emphasized when introduced with irony and a bit of humor. And, you nailed it. The W4's with their guns, silencers, house plans, specific shoes, and "night ops training" with video game precision...now look like the biggest and most delusional Supersized Jet Puff Marshmallows in the world of modern warfare. The W4's did not/do not possess the quality of self-reflection. (Never contemplating, this is a bad idea and discarding their evil plans...Nope they just worked harder to make their plan work. ) They played Hokey Pokey with reality....sometimes they are in...sometimes they are out.

Real quick reply BettyP Perhaps it is a receipt for "items seized" from the new owner of the vehicle. Items removed (samples & cuts) but the current owner allowed to keep the vehicle and wanted a receipt?? (Either for compensation, insurance purposes or to prove they were fully cooperating in the investigation.) Under the circumstances, I would have asked for a warrant and receipt if detectives started cutting up parts of vehicle interior.

What is this military expertise she has that she used? Is there any link that shows what she did during her service?

No link. I should’ve worded that differently. I’m sorry. Most people I’ve met in the military are very precise and organized when they come out of basic training. That would have helped her to see all of the small mistakes/problems that could cause them to be caught. She could then counteract those mistakes. I feel she thought she didn’t miss a detail. I think the W family likely trusted that. Please understand that this is literally JMO. I could be off base.

I'm trying to find it. I know someone on here made a past post about AW being in the Air Force but only briefly. And like over 20 years ago. Also mentioned was she left on disability. Just My 2 Cents. Don't know if this poster provided a link. I don't think they did. Just thought I'd mention it.

My 2 Cents----I think AW's military expertise is way overrated but on her Facebook (still there) she says her boys are "all about hunting" (and they like fishing) and I think the hunting goes with the way the Rhodens were stalked. Like stalking a deer.

THE HUNTERS BECAME THE HUNTED

I can definitely see that scenario. I think you make an excellent point in that they didn’t like paying their own bills.
I also agree with your Anse Hatfield theory.

I'm an AF vet and I'd bet my last dollar her military expertise had no bearing in the planning and executing of these murders. The average AF personnel just simply do not plan and execute missions where kicking down doors and killing bad guys are required.

Thank you. I don’t believe they had what it takes to succeed in Kenai. When I first moved there I thought 100 k would buy a house. The real estate agent I called before our move laughed and said it would buy land and a trailer. We spent time in a rented duplex and saved to buy a house.

But you have to learn to be as independent as possible. We had friends who mentored us, taught us how to shoot and butcher a moose. How to freeze and smoke fish and how to depend on a very close circle of friends for support. The first time I hired someone to change the oil in my car was 4 years ago. I can fix darn near everything except my phone computer and smart tv.

I think when people sized them up they had to much baggage and lacked the determination to make it up there v

It’s basic cya to have a warrant for every search, piece of evidence and darn near every conversation. Receipts are normal procedure. LE COULD have confiscated the vehicle. Instead they took pieces. And contrary to my thoughts 6 months ago the receipt could be very real.

This photo always gets me. All of them are hugged up together except for SW who is pulling away from Billy and Jake. Her body language and expression looks like she wishes she was anywhere but there.

I loved it in AK Charlie. But the price of things shocked us. We walked into a McDonalds and paid 22.00 for a meal that would have cost us 7.00 here.

Gasoline was very high also. There was about a 3.00 per gallon difference.

They spent months planning it out. Thought they had the perfect murder set up. And they may have, but some incriminated themselves after the fact. Shoulda just kept quiet and not talked about it. They got too confident especially when it still looked like they were targeting JM when they arrested him and he spent night in jail in Chillicothe. The W’s must’ve had some good laughs

They may have more laughs yet. Keep in mind, they are still a long way from being convicted. My understanding is that it was not talk that nailed them, it was evidence. To my knowledge, no one has talked.

According to the special prosecutor brought in on the case, the Wagners were overheard on multiple occasions making threats of revenge against a BCI agent, (main agent on case) towards Sheriff Reader, and even towards the AG---in the event of being arrested.

They also discussed plans of escape should some of them be arrested. Even without a confession, these conversations seem incriminating to me. Put another way---it does not make them seem innocent.

If you were innocent thinking you could get arrested, wouldn't you be discussing what attorneys to call? Etc....
