Or the fact that they were loose and not paying attention meant they were used to people coming and going and were not all that vicious. I have a Red Nose Pit, male, and a White German Sheppard, female, and they completely guard my house. They take a while to calm down when introducing them to new people. Several hours to get warmed up enough to be completely comfortable but once they know someone they will protect them too and let those people come and go as they please. My dogs are rescues and they were both unsocialised. They would Never allow people they didn't know anywhere near my house or in my fenced in yard they didn't know let alone wander around the property with all that going on. It just doesn't seem to me these dogs have that type of disposition. They seem like they are used to people coming and going along with a lot of automobile movement. I also think that if they were behaving so completely out of character the family present would see that right away and find it very strange.

I think that very well could be it. I have a beware of dog sign on my fence post as you pull into our drive. I've got two rescues and two non-rescues. All four are socialized, but, I take no chances and never tell anyone that my dogs won't bite. You never know when a dog will take a dislike to someone, or have a bad hair day, just like humans.

Makes perfect sense. Google and Yahoo are great search engines. When talking to FB reporters, ask them what newspaper their article was printed, and the date, or ask for the town and station letters and date. You can also look back in the threads here, and get newspaper names. Try putting in WHIO and Columbus Dispatch in Google. I'm sure you'll be able to look up the articles by the author's name. Looking forward to hearing what you discover, or everybody might need to start searching for bumble bees with semi-automatic weapons!!! Well, hopefully things don't get THAT bad.

Is this me making stuff up, or was there a rumor they were not dressed? And we know there were 32 GSW, but we don't know how many shots actually fired.
And if CR1 had bruising, he must have been in close contact with the shooter(s), and DNA could be found?

I feel like they were sleeping, GR on the sofa, shot first, CR1 rushing out of the bedroom, throwing himself at the shooter. But why not just leave them there on the floor? Maybe if they were the first to be hit, perp(s) couldn't take the chance of someone seeing the bodies through the window and ruin the rest of the mission. But who would come and look through the windows late at night? Family? They would just lock them self in. Can anyone make any sense of this?

BBM Maybe CR1 and GR were killed closer to daylight than we think, and they didn't want to take the chance of someone coming over, maybe even FR who was possibly still alive, and seeing shapes on the floor, through the door window.

Dudley, sorry I got one of the basements wrong, but glf mentioned she had read about one mentioned going to the pole barn. I have read so many things about this case that my brain swirls with it. I try to provide links, but sometimes I can't find all the articles that I have read. Ray, I welcome all opinions, sometimes I'm sure "I know" this one or that one, is the right one. With not much info to reference, the size of this family, the "business's" they were in, there's so many ways this case could go.

The only thing sure about this case is that LE don't want the public to know anything.

The only thing LE seems to ever have to say to us is We don't THINK...

A crime of passion? I dunno. In small towns like that everyone dates each other - that's just how it is. When I lived in a town of 800 (where I was also a LEO), we rarely had problems that resulted from this: Most common was just tradition Domestic Violence - usually minor arguments, and things like that. But murder? No way - let alone 8 murders in 4 different locations. I still believe the subject(s) are LEO's that knew the family well, or else a member of the families.

I tried it to see, it puts a check mark on it. I guess like GTAWmom said, maybe that means following someone. I've not figured out how to post multiple quotes yet. I'm a little jealous!

My first thought was a rogue LEO (not necessarily in Pike, but could be, that had something big to lose, with them alive), or, an old fashioned blood feud.

When I was in LE in a small town, we knew everyone that was involved in selling drugs. Frankly, you couldn't do anything there without someone knowing. One time my car broke down - a short time later a FHP Officer whom I knew was passing by and recognized my car and stopped. Then a SO cruiser was going by and also saw my car and the FHP, so he stopped. Then the Fish and Game Officer who also recognized my car stopped. Then a detective I knew saw my car and stopped, and then another detective who was going past saw my car and stopped. They did not contact one another - they just saw my car on the side of the road overheating! The PD there in Ohio know who the subjects are - I have no doubt of that. They're probably trying to build a case.

He 60504(;my pleasure to read your history. It is a funny occurane that I was homicide LE once and I am glad to see you
come out and report the activities of small town L.E'S ..I can not testify to small town activities of L.E and their internet.
Yet, I know the situation that large cities present and there is a world of difference..The best guess is that big city or
small L.E. Operations, the facts are the same ,murderers are captured and outed by the ability of citizens to secretly
over-hear conversations and idle talk to report criminal activity. I am with you, it still takes, L.E. To establish, motive,
opportunity, and means to build a case ...In this case,we are going to see something evolve that is going to startle
citizens to no end..The end will arrive when L.E. officers get together and compare facts. They know right now.JMO

IMo, at theis point in time themedia should be ashamed of itself for not pushing taxpayer emokyees (LE) to start releasing the truth here.

The recent refusal to release autopsy, IMOO, easily means only one thing, and the only way for this not to become a huge scandel far bigger than the crime scene is to hide hide hide

Here is a awesome piece outlining all the laws they are breaking by not releasing final autopsies - it reeks- and media by now should be going to the top dog in washington.

Mass murder is mass murder - and whomever did it, regardless of vocation needs to IMO be locked up. THey are a menace to society - talk about failure to protect, its repulisive, obviously humm humm speculation...

Case law is cited etc etc - needing to keep secrets can only be ...

Thank you ..I am accumulating information from web link from Google..I don't have newspaper articles only what the I-pad
allows.I am finding the reporters that write those articles are Facebook members and I talk to them via their message box.
I feel that if I asked the reporter a question on Facebook, their answer is reliable and not hear-say...I googled the
Pike Pet Pal humane society and The Pike County Board Of Elections..Saying all of that, I am concentrating my
struggle to get to the conclusion on individuals rather than circumstances, if that makes any sense...

You've got me all curious now!:gaah:

I looked on the PCSD website yesterday, and didn't find an email address. There is a fax# 740-947-1049.

My home phone rang once a few years ago, I picked it up and heard the sound a fax machine makes, (trying to connect), it kept calling. I made a phone call to where the fax was coming from and told the lady that answered that the number entered in their fax machine was not a fax machine number but my home phone. I left her in a state of confusion as to how I knew where the call was coming from. :) The calls stopped.

Rogue LEO. Could be. But you know, I think a catholic priest would have a better motive.

I am going with family or ex lover.

What could a priest's motive be? Or do you mean the odds of either being responsible are just as unlikely?

Only if they were Catholics!

What if not all of them had the same cause of death and they are withholding something for investigative purposes? I have not read everything on this murder so maybe this was mentioned and debunked but I am also not sure why suspecting LE cover up and such has been suggested so if anyone can direct me to a post with that information it would be great!

I am kidding of course. I promise my next post will be more serious.
And no, I don't think the rogue LE is the most probable scenario.

I think the best thing for you to do is read the prior threads! There are many newspaper articles and many videos, and linking just a few cannot give you a good overview of this case. There are eight victims, and 800 scenarios presented here as to who and why this happened. Youtube has alot of the videos on their website that are very interesting and helpful. I just used a search engine and typed in YouTube Pike county murders, and the video info will come up.
