Your senerio seems to be more in tune with my gut feelings than other sugestions. Very true about him being more difficult. I felt that too all along. But I feel for some reason he was shot more than he needed to be. Could just be because he put up a fight and it made the murderer angry. For some reason I also had the feeling that the ones with the open windows were done last or were the closest to each other. They were open because the murderer felt it was nesesary to lock the doors to buy some time before being found out and they werent the type you could lock when you pulled it closed. Like a deadbolt. Worried that someone may discover something before he had a chance to finish or get away. It keeps nagging at me that the windows may have been the exit. Maybe they didnt have time to look for keys...Others too took multiple bullets. It is not because he took the most bullets that he was the person with most emotions against.
It could well be that he was the hardest to kill. My theory on this is that the shooter entered alone in the living room, by the front door, while both GR and CR were up.
This kind of confrontation - gunman vs 2 men at close range - is likely to unfold as follows:
- gunman shoots one in the face (GR)
- second person jumps on gunman
- scuffle for the gun. Gunman shoots and hits extremities : hands or legs, and possibly torso.
- then once the 2nd is down, the gunman finishes him off with a bit of energy.
To summarize, emotion can come in the confrontation.
We can discuss theories where as:
- there were multiple shooters
- gunmen had silencers
- dogs were dealt with meat
but you know there is much simpler than that :
- one gunman as usual
- noise naturally woke up people
- perp knew everyone including dogs
And no. In a family killing, the father is not necessarily the first victim or even the cause of the conflict. But he is often the strongest member of the family.
