"8 p.m. UPDATE: According to US Marshal Peter Elliott, Robert Beane III was recaptured around 6:30 p.m. after being found hiding in a tent off Washington Road, north of Taylor Road in Richland County. The baby, 10-month-old Robert Beane Jr. was recovered unharmed and taken to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital."

A man charged in connection with an Amber Alert for a missing child who led police on an hours-long search in July will stand trial before a jury in January pending a psychological evaluation.

A jury trial is tentatively scheduled for Robert D. Beane, 27, on Jan. 28.

A 27-year-old man responsible for an Amber Alert last summer has been sentenced to 6½ years in prison.

Robert D. Beane was scheduled for a May 20 trial but opted to change his plea. He pleaded guilty Thursday to failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, inducing panic, endangering children, failure to appear and receiving stolen property, along with possession of heroin in a separate case.

In exchange for his plea, prosecutors dismissed charges of kidnapping, a first-degree felony, and a second count of failure to comply.
