OH - Spencer and Monique Tepe found shot to death at home 2 children unharmed, Columbus, 30 December 2025

Everyone's different. I couldn't think of nothing worse with kids and work, sleep is definitely a priority for me. But I have a few friends (with more children than me may I add), who work but have wild nights like this quite often. Different strokes for different folks. Jmo.
Absolutely right when you say “people are different”. It amazes me how many people forget that simple statement and judge everyone by what they would do.

I still have 20 pages of the thread to go to catch up, but given Spencer's occupation, I'd be interested in looking over his work-related financial arrangements. Am I correct in understanding that he had been working at one dental practice (in Ashland) and subsequently moved to another? Did a substantial number of patients follow him as he transferred his practice? What were his financial arrangements at the one practice and then at the subsequent one? Were any funds due the previous practice?

I imagine that LE is carefully investigating all aspects of these two victims' lives. But besides robbery, a potential family matter, someone wanting access to drugs, etc., I'd certainly be looking into business relationships and potential related motives.

What does killing the couple, but not the children (heirs) accomplish? Do any arrangements become void upon the death of both Spencer and Monique?

Tepe neighbor: 'They were such nice people"

A couple who live near the Tepes' home spoke to the Dispatch on the condition of anonymity because they are afraid of the suspects who remain at large. The woman said she has not been able to sleep since the shooting.

"I just think, why them and not us?" the woman said.

She added that her and her husband's home has never been broken into, nor have their cars. She said she takes the ordinary precautions that come with living in a downtown area — she doesn't leave her purse in her car or walk alone very late at night, but before the Tepes were killed, she felt safe.

The woman and her husband said they knew the Tepes because their children played together, and their daughters attended the same daycare. The Tepes had a boy about a year old and a girl about four.

The Tepes were very ordinary, their neighbors said. The woman who spoke to the Dispatch anonymously said they threw one party in the time they lived on the block — and she later found out it was their wedding, a small COVID-era affair they held at their home in 2021.

‘Me and my man got into it’ …. 🤔
If MT turns out to have used that phrase I will eat my hat or the nearest crow. JMO not compatible in my mind to the woman described as kind, warm, and well spoken with a background in childhood education.

Could the call be from a relative of Monique (young, hispanic accent) who lived with the family for one reason or another? Maybe she was under threat from her husband/boyfriend. This ”my man” wanted revenge on Spencer and Monique for helping the female relative. This would be a good match with the man on the surveillence camera who looks like a young hispanic/caucasian guy. I don’t necessarily belive the guy was in the house when she made the 911-call. Maybe he treatened her and the Tepe’s and she made the call, and then got scared.
I came here to write exactly this. I'm reading up today's first. I feel that the 911 caller was perhaps staying, sheltered with the victims. The 'man' came to the house, that late, heated incident and she obviously felt she needed to call 911 as possible previous incidents with him because that did not come out of nowhere to do that. Previous relationship trouble.
It would also make sense and it sure happens a lot that the killer believes the victims came in between the 911 caller and himself as the 911 caller had since broken off with him. The stew and stew and rage, ego, they didn't mind their business, she wouldn't of broken off with him but the victims had a hand in it. Hence, he goes there and revenge happens. He also may of thought his '911 caller gf' may of been staying there that night. I do strongly feel this is what happened and who the killer is. Of course I may be way off, but that killer got into the house seemingly 'easy'. I don't think there was partying the previous night, I just think the 911 caller was living/staying there for safety per the victims helping her out.
The scenario is common enough, killing families etc of estranged relationshippers who 'didn't mind their own business' and caused the leaving of the abused one.
May be the reason the other family members are having their homes watched as well. This couple was known to them.
I'm sure LE has def. looked into all this of course. JUST my thoughts on a realistic and possible scenario. IMO

Could the 911 caller have been a nanny? Makes sense with two small children and would make more sense to me than a random party guest or something. JMO

I think BIL is trying to protect ST and MT, but it's making everything worse.

He said that this call happened years ago, it was a woman who was drunk and having a "mental health issue". Then, it was a bad reaction to edibles. Now, the public is learning (via public records) that possibly another woman was living in the home temporarily.

I'm wondering if the BIL even knew about the woman living with them temporarily. There might be things ST and MT kept private.

I think BIL's heart is in the right place and he has good intentions, but he's in way over his head. They need to hire a spokesperson.

Delete if not allowed. Public records show another female in her early 30s living at the Tepe address until June of 2025. This person is loosely connected to the Tepes on FB. That could be who called.
Idk, records show this individual living at a neighboring house, not directly at their house. Look at the actual address listed under her name - I'm assuming it's not the actual address of the Tepes. At least it's not on the main public records site I'm aware of. It's a neighboring house.

Those People Search websites are finicky and often mix up/double list who's living in what house. I wouldn't take it as fact yet.

Everyone is a suspect but we don't sleuth family members on WS as they are victims unless LE indicate otherwise.
How are we sleuthing him? We are reacting to information he is giving the public.

They did not consent to their wedding photo going viral worldwide. They have been violated enough.

If the news reports about some of the family like the later father of Spencer having police guard are true, due to it being “targeted” (BIL’s words) it makes the promotion of the video and the BIL saying they he is looking after their babies and dog (hours after the murder) quite reckless. Why give the public this information?
He's been saying a lot of stuff that I would never say publicly. But, everyone is different and people handle things differently.

To what or whom did he have a "positive effect"? IMO that means, that something before and/or without Spencer was rather somehow negative, and I am curious.
All the Little Sisters and Little Brothers in the program need extra support (they may live in poverty, be in foster care, etc), so having a positive effect can simply mean that the mentorship was helpful, helped build self esteem, etc.

And we now have the neighbor saying the only party the Tepes threw (over the last several years) was for their own wedding. MOO

There are 'get togethers and their are parties. I'd def lean towards get togethers with friends for sure, natural. I mean perhaps another couple or so. IMO

This is interesting. Now the 911 call could be related if she was living with the Tepe's and not an overnight guest. Curious about "my man" and that relationship...jmo.

Wish we had some update from LE.
Seems like they are staying silent and letting the murderer dig their own grave. If they have a suspect he probably has no idea but they will be watching.

If they didn’t have a suspect I believe there would have been a press conference by now with some small appeal for further info by now. I don’t believe public safety is a concern for this one as they are probably have surveillance on his movements and activity. The silence is quite telling.

Would a visitor bring a gun to a couple’s home on a Tuesday night, with young kids in the home?

Maybe. IDK. If yes, perhaps a visitor would bring a gun due to perception that the neighborhood was a high crime area.

I had been thinking it could have been a visitor, but if they brought a gun, I feel like there was a reason.

JMO
It would also seem strange to me that they would have visitors on a work night, unless it was a kid from the program needing help and was told come anytime day or night. Im shying away from that thought, but it’s possible. Could any of the parents from the community program not have liked so much kindness and attention that they did not give? Just another angle to consider…

Yes, to quote him, “our family is very different.”

The 911 caller sounds younger and less educated with poor grammar: "I don't need nothing."; "me and my man..."

It doesn't sound like a "party atmosphere" to me, so that aspect is perplexing. But if the Tepes kindly helped this woman out somehow - or got in between her and her partner - I could see that as reason for vengeance from a violent man.
Thanks for clearing it up that the caller was very likely not Monique.

I noticed the grammar as well. But, I have not not listened to Monique's speech. Therefore, I thought that though it was not how I expected Monique (dentist's wife) would speak, there was an off chance that she came from a less educated background.

I also agree about sheltering a DV victim and the possibility of a rage murder. If they had sheltered a dv victim, I wonder where the caller is from? Could she be somebody they met in Columbus, or from Athens?

In addition to the grammar, the caller's speech gave me vague vibes of an accent- "6:00 news", but not really. A regional accent would not necessarily determine where the victims met her as people are very mobile today. But.... it could give clues as to her origins.

IMO The family needs a professional spokesperson. Spencer's father works for a high-powered Cincinnati law firm. They surely can help find someone.
Oh I had not heard that. Wonder id there is a connection…

The BIL said that he stayed over with them often - does he live out of town?
