Not to mention both the Jamisons were getting SSD, which would be their source of income, so unless they had a ton of money hoarded away somewhere which is unlikely imo, they would have to stay on the grid to continue to get their disability checks.

Did the Jamisons have direct deposit or were the checks sent to their home address each month?

Are their checks going to a new address?

Have they cashed any of their checks since then?

Thinking about this some more, I think they knew their killers. (I realize it has not been confirmed that they are dead, but the flipside is that there is no evidence they are alive).

Let's assume that they were confronted in a hostile manner. Most dogs would go ballistic if their owners were in danger and I would think the perps would take out the dog too. Yet the dog was left behind in the car unharmed.

I think that they met someone they knew up there or perhaps they were showing these other people the land they intended to buy. The perps offer to escort them the rest of the way and doggie is left in the truck as if they were going to be back in a short time.

Whoever did this, in my opinion, had NO idea there was that kind of cash in the vehicle and was not after the cash.

I can't speculate who fits this description, but it seems quite plausible to me.

wfgodot, this is extremely interesting, the comments say:
(i hope this post is allowed to stay as lord knows when the comments will get lost on there and imo this is important)

[what follows is a quotation from the internet post by "thank you"]--
Every report said Panola Mountain. I could not locate Panola Mountain on a topographical map but we were told to turn up into those mountains just past Panola road. The location of the land we were going to look at is such that there is only one way in or out.(and the only reason I know that is because I matched the creek) and I guess the seller expected us to go look at the land without knowing the exact location before we met the woman who was supposed to show us where it was so we could pick out which plot we wanted. I didn't like that. I didn't like that we were not provided an exact location and I did not like that no arrangements were spoken of in relation to a title search or whatever is supposed to happen to prove the land you are being sold is owned by the seller. ....[snipped for space]

It wouldn't be the first time people were killed and robbed over a Craigslist scam. If it keeps happening in that area..

What the poster on Topix mentioned sounds very hinky and the people "selling" this land need to be checked out. Its a set up for disaster.

Yes, indeed, Craigslist (like newspaper ads and other public posting) is a place where predators can go fishing for victims, whether economic victims or physical ones. It may well be that the family met someone at the point where they left their vehicle, got into a vehicle with a "salesman/woman" and then met a bad fate. That would explain why the vehicle was left alone; no point in risking transferring DNA or fibers or leaving fingerprints, etc., in order to toss a car. This way, it just looks like the family vanished.

Here is a big question for me ... What would someone want with an entire family? What would be the purpose of taking them all ?

I feel it is someone who knows the area and that the truck would not be found quickly or maybe not even questioned about being there ...I also feel who ever took them knew they would be there like it was already set up.But who would want an entire family gone ?

I still have to wonder about Bobby's father setting something up, unfortunatley he has passed away now and would have taken that to his grave if he did....

I just keep wondering if whoever is part of this was maybe only expecting Bobby to show or maybe Bobby and Sherilynn but not the girl...Maybe they saw the little girl and decided to harm Bobby and Sherrilynn to take the little girl .. god I hope not ....

We dont know if there was a struggle of any sort because by the time it was determined they were missing the weather had been bad with rain which would erase any indication of a struggle.

This case is super frustrating and it does not help with the silence from everyone including family I am sorry I seem to be rambiling along here

Well, here appear to be our choices:
* overcome by elements
What am I leaving out?

Would this include wild animals, falling off cliffs, falling into mine shafts, etc.?

Here is a news clip I have not seen before. The sheriff states that the truck was locked and the keys were not in the truck ! I hadn't heard that confirmation before excuse me for my excitment if you all had that figured out ...lol

Do we know the company name of the wells in that area where the truck was found ?

Yes, anything that would fit in the classic "person v. nature" category.

Back in the 1970s, there was a serial killer who operated in Western PA and Ohio) and elsewhere who would break into homes, kill the husband and kidnap the wife. Who knows why serial murderers do what they do--other than they get sick pleasure out of it. If the purpose was to lure the couple--in order to commit a violent crime--the child might have been an unexpected complication. But if the truck was locked and there is no sign of foul play on or in the vehicle, then the family got out of the truck, locked it, and left. Have dogs been used to see where the scent track ends? Or is that one more thing that LE hasn't bothered with?

I don't know Mr. Jamison's usual routine but the killer(s) here may have had just this one opportunity and if he inadvertently brought the family along for the ride, then they all met the same demise.

This scenario would fit in with what the Topix poster has stated about being given wrong directions. The family shows up in the "wrong" place, and is met by the person who says "oh yeh, the gps is off up here ... hop in and it's just a bit down the road". Bobby locks up car with doggie safely inside with their belongings/valuables, pockets the keys, and the whole family climbs into the other vehicle.

Only motives I could think of in this scenario would be thrill kill or personal grudge (or just a simple robbery where they didn't know about the $$ in the vehicle).

Topix poster made reference to the girl/woman in "the office". If there was really an "office", hopefully our Topix poster can get the word out re the name of the company that owned the property, the phone/contact info for the advertiser, etc.

I can't speculate who fits this description, but it seems quite plausible to me.
<snip>

There was a case in Alberta where a film maker named Mark Twitchell enticed a guy from BC to Alberta through a Craigslist ad. The trial is happening sometime soon (i've lost track of all these trial dates), but one of the things I recall was that the perp forced the victim to provide passwords to email accounts, etc. There have been cases where peeps have been tortured into providing PIN numbers to bank accounts, etc.

Could be the perp(s) thought that anyone looking at property worth X$$ would have the money in a bank account, and they could torture the victim into providing that info. Got the PIN (if Bobby had a bank account), and killed the family, to ultimately find out there was no $$ in the account. I'd be checking the last attempt at accessing the bank account around the time they disappeared. Might have picked up the perp on camera at an ATM.

... Have dogs been used to see where the scent track ends? ...

IIRC, dogs were used, but since the truck had been abandoned for 10 days-ish, and there were VERY heavy rains, there was little and/or no scent.

Do we know the company name of the wells in that area where the truck was found ?

I remember reading it early on in the posts.
snip.
They found the pick-up parked on a dirt road in an isolated area near a well-site where a natural gas drilling rig had once been, according to Wells..

Note:
GPS system was found in the truck.
I am sure LE has checked it vs the two properties the Jamison's
were going to look at.
snip.
The pickup was parked at a well site, about 30 miles from the family’s Eufaula home. Beauchamp said the family had gone to look at a couple of 40-acre plots of land for possible purchase with what appeared to be plans to move a shipping container onto the secluded mountain land and live there.

Inside the pickup, investigators found Bobby Dale Jamison’s wallet, Sherrilynn Jamison’s purse, maps, a GPS, a "substantial” amount of cash, and a cell phone last used Oct. 8.

At first, Beauchamp said, it appeared the family had become lost because they were not at the location marked on the map, but investigators recently learned the site where the truck was parked was a second site where the family was looking for land.

Little or no scent might also mean that they got in a car.

I agree with your three possible motives.

Just bumping this up. Does anybody know anything new?

 • #118
Ok, just doing some more searching. I heard that Bobby's father had another restraining order against him from a Starlet jamison (possibly a wife?). Anyways, I started doing some other searching in the mean time and here is some info on property they owned in Eufaula. Its not much, but maybe it will help someone.

ohhh the plot thickens....There are probate documents on Bobby's fathers will (he changed it after Bobby went missing) I am having troubles reading some of it....Any help? That could be a motive.. Wife (Starlet Jamison) of Bobbys father, has Bobby and his family killed knowing that her soon to be divorced husband is about to die and she would get nothing. She has filled probate to be the executor of his will. How convinient.
