Found Deceased OK - Nancy Davis, 55, drove off the road, car found, Seminole, 24 Feb 2022

Has LE confirmed her husband stayed at work until his shift ended after she called to say she had driven off the road?

MOO
I'm sure they've thought of that. The last I read about it on Saturday, the Sheriff's Dept was going to subopena both of their phone records.

AFAIK we have no information concerning the relationship between Nancy and her husband, but we have no reason to suspect anything bad either. I've read nothing from LE or MSM to suggest there were any problems between them. However, it would be helpful for LE to confirm what time Nancy's husband left the casino that day.

It makes me so sad when people go missing with their dog(s)!! They're so often found dead and it's just horrible. It's also crazy to me how many people just wander away from their cars, especially in cold weather, and then I see so many searches for them in the general area they went missing from but they aren't found. Months later, their remains magically appear like 300ft from the car! You guys are the experts here (lol) so you probably know the kind of cases I mean! Long time reader, first time poster :D

•Since her disappearance, three of her dogs have slowly been returned one by one back to Davis’s, which has puzzled investigators.
Snipped by me.

That's an odd turn of phrase "been returned". If they returned of their own accord why the need for "been"

Agreed, it's an odd way to state that fact. IMO, the phrase "have slowly been returned" would indicate someone returned the dogs rather than the dogs returning home on their own.

I'm not sure if LE/MSM is trying to imply something here or this is simply a poor choice of words by media sources.

I'd like to know how far this incident occurred from her home. Was it close enough that the dogs could find their way?

Writing "been returned" does sound like they are trying to imply that a couple of the dogs might have ended up at nearby neighbors and were brought home a day or two later, but that could also just be a poor choice of words. I don't know what kind of dogs they are, but it's possible they could have found their way home on their own even if they'd never been in that exact place. Her home is 8/10ths of a mile from where the car was found if you follow the road, and a little over a half mile if you went southeast in a straight line.
I'm sure they've searched around the pond and creek that run along the east side of the field her car was found in, I would also assume they also checked the old homeplace where the house burned down that's less than 1000 feet south for any old cisterns or cellars she might have fallen into.

The part about the steep ditch bothers me; on both sides of HWY 399 the ditch is quite deep, and I could understand her not being able to walk out if that, it would be an effort for anyone on a good day, and covered in ice it would be almost impossible. However, the local news (kfor) shows the car in a field which is just east of that at the SE corner of old HWY 99 and Park Heights Road. The "ditch" there is barely a dip and within 100 feet of where the media shows the car, there is a flat driveway leading out onto the paved road. If the video is accurate and that is where the car was found, she would have no problem getting out of that field.

I'm sure they've thought of that. The last I read about it on Saturday, the Sheriff's Dept was going to subopena both of their phone records.

If my loved one was missing the sheriff wouldn't have to subpeona my phone records. I would get the up to date records ASAP from the provider, hand them over and tell the cops they can lead or they can follow but I'm in my car and headed for the location of the last ping.

Of course, most people wouldn't have left her to wait all night in the ice storm, stuck in a field and unable to walk up the hill for help. MOO

Just to show you what I'm talking about, this is the corner of the field, you can make out the driveway as well has how decidedly not steep that ditch is. The white car the news is showing was parked basically between the big tree in the center and the smaller tree on the right, facing west, which would have been the opposite direction she would have been travelling in. Yes, she could have been sliding and spinning and ended up that way, but the ground is not tore up and there are no ruts. Almost like the car was driven in and backed up alongside the brushy overgrowth and parked.

And you can see how close the white car was to the road (and just off the driveway) in this partial screen shot from KFOR's initial reporting on the 25th. There are three big white SUVs lined up and the white car is to the right of them, parked close to the brush. Watch the full clip here: Seminole County woman missing after running vehicle off road

Nancy's disappearance is considered suspicious now.

SEMINOLE, Okla. — Officials are continuing the search for a Seminole woman who has been missing for three weeks.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Department said the disappearance of Nancy Davis is suspicious. They are conducting another investigation on Saturday near the area where they found her car off Highway 377.

"There's more to the story than we're being told," said J.T. Palmer, an investigator for Seminole County Sheriff's Office.
