I think of what happened recently in KY with the I-75 shooter. We had very similar speculations about his escape. He was found about a couple of weeks later from vultures flying overhead. He hadn’t gone far at all from the shooting spot and had taken his own life. Dogs and searchers missed him, but a pair of bounty hunters found him by following the vultures. This may be the case here. I don’t see how anyone could live with themselves long in the forest with all that thinking time after murdering their own children.

Different terrain. Eastern Washington is quite mountainous. There are fewer roads and many “paths”. If he doesn’t have a vehicle, he’s not tied to “the roads”.

I just did an extensive search on Google earth of the coordinates posted earlier in a post and noticed there are many water ways in that area and many trails around that area,I see possible scenario's of his escape. 1. Through the water ways to keep his scent covered. 2. Crossing over the one mountain (as those coordinates are right in the bottom of three different mountains) to a small town and has went into hiding somewhere. 3. He could have possibly hitchhiked moments after the murders and nobody knowing about what he had done(possibly catching a ride with someone on the way back to Canada through that scenic pass way. 4. He had found a cave and continues to hide out during the day and traveling through the mountains at night.

I just wonder if they have a way of tracking him or if theyre just guessing based on google searches or the most probable routes if he is on the run. Is there any indication that he is still alive, or nothing?

I don't know much about how things are done, but I'm kind of curious as to why they can feel confident in lifting roadblocks in Chelan County. It's a fairly large county, relatively speaking, and the sheriff said at a presser that 87% of the county is not accessible by road.

The search efforts have been huge in Chelan County, but if the guy is good at evasion...... if he had a lot of stuff cached... .if he's thinking to make a move when things have settled down a little bit.....

Maybe there is some good reason to be looking elsewhere. Or maybe 9-10 days is just considered to be enough.

I'm watching the flight tracking again today and there has been a private aerial mapping company with three planes up flying grid patterns over the area for most of the day today. With it so heavily wooded, I'm not sure how much they can actually see. One thing I noted is the flight paths today include areas south of Highway 2. Previously, they were searching along Highway 2 and to the north, toward Canada. It seems they've expanded the search area to include the south today. There is also a Department of Homeland Security helicopter up there and an Army helicopter. (I hesitate to post screenshots here of an active search ongoing, but it's visible if you go take a look at flight tracking websites.)

While I'm not sure you can be in "your right mind" and also murder your children, I do think anyone that is in their right mind would do those searches and realize you can't just waltz across the border and get a job the way you can move to another city and do that. It would be even a zillion times harder to do it, if you knew LE was looking for you.

It seems more logical to me that was an idea he had & realized it wouldn't work, not that he was planning to attempt it after he killed his kids.

Understandable the military needs specific training, but just to intrigue posters, there is an actual database of military who have gone on to murder. Ex. The freeway killer (21-43), Green River Killer, Jeffrey Dahmer, Lee Harvey Oswald, the “Son of Sam” and Timothy McVeigh. The info is from 2012 with 275 listed then.

I'm hoping he drugged them so they were unconscious when he put the bags over their heads. He may have zip tied them to stop them clawing at the bags if they became semi-conscious. It's hard to fathom the level of cruelty toward his own children. And if he did remove the zip ties why not the plastic bags. What message does that send? Depending on how long it took to find the bodies the COD could have been undermined.

Good grief, to think how they were found and that doesnt turn out to be the COD it would make me re-think the game playing piece.

I totally agree. Many people research moving to other countries during times of stress. His world was crumbling, he was looking for escape or reset. I also look for jobs in other countries or moving to other countries.

I thought he had earpods in and was moving to the beat, probably some rock/heavy metal he had playing on his phone. He seemed amped up to me but Whitney says he was quieter than usual so ??. Its hard to tell, in some videos it looks like he has them in and some not.The sweep of the door was definitely weird, no Idea what that was.
