I am holding my judgement for now.
More likely, it was case of domestic violence and he killed his own children out of spite. In that case, he really is extremely dangerous and I hope he never ever gets parole.
But also possible that he really had a mental health break (as the mother said he was struggling with mental health) and harmed them in a psychotic episode or similar. In that case, the realization of what he has done might be worse punishment than anything the courts can do.
You're more forgiving than I am, I'm still too horrified and very angry at this sorry excuse for a 'dad'.

I understand what you're saying regarding a possible mental break.
But the fact that he did it three times -- makes me wonder ....
Imo.

I agree Chimera.

Also I’ve heard nothing of domestic violence - marriages can just breakdown - I think if it was DV related she’d have been more reluctant about letting the 3 girls go with him to visit and it’s have gone through the courts.

The mother obviously loved those children look at their pictures released all doing an activity/something they loved.

I'm wondering if he poisoned them. Hoping it was some gentle way, as stupid as that sounds right now.. 🥺

Oh this is devastating. Those poor little girls and their mother. I’m sure she had many reservations about letting them go with him, but she had to. So tragic.

What in the name of all that is holy were these girls doing with their dad? Planned visitation with homeless dad? WHAT?

  • The girls were last seen alive on May 30, after leaving their Washington State home for a “planned visitation” with their father, 32-year-old Travis Decker

Yes, my bad, I did not mean it in the sense that there must be a notable history of DV. More like that in that case he might have the general thought pattern of a DV offender. That if he did it in a "sane" mind, it is imo unlikely he did it because he was, say angry with one of the girls or "lost control in a moment" or anything like that. That in that case I feel like he did it on purpose and this purpose included hurting the mum and maybe some "if I can't have them, no-one can" type of a mindset. That in that case I feel it was cruel and manipulative in essence.

Bbm.
Oh, no, it sounds fine.
I'd like to think they went to sleep and never woke up, except in heaven !

ITA! If this 'father' is known to be mentally unstable... how the HECK did he get visitation rights?!! The judge and court and CPS ordered & allowed unsupervised visitations when the father was homeless and clearly unstable? Washington seems to have an issue protecting children and mothers! IMO

A 3 hour visitation with their father wasn't the problem. The mom was just trying to let the girls have a relationship with their father. It's obvious he was supposed to take them out to eat and take them back home to their mom, this wasn't supposed to happen. It's clear he had some sort of issue because of how quickly the mom raised the alarm. She was doing her best, poor lady.

Based on the cancelled alert last night and no "safe" message I thought this would be the outcome, unfortunately.

What a worthless coward. This isn't mental illness, this is evil. This is what happens when girls and women are viewed as possessions instead of people.

nothing has been mentioned in MSM about whether this planned visitation was court determined or just something the two parents worked out. The girls were meant to be with their father for three hours, just long enough to go grab some dinner and spend some time together.

Mom had stated before they were found that Travis struggles with his mental health since leaving the military but adored the girls and she didn't consider him to be a danger to them.

Unfortunately she was very very mistaken that he wasn't a danger. I am sure she is blaming herself. But I cannot fault her.

As I wrote some pages back, there isn't anything in the Washington state court system records online for a divorce or a parenting plan for this couple. If there was a divorce or a legal parenting plan in place, it must have happened in another state.

Is there another planet I can move to?

This one is so dark sometimes.

That poor mother.

Damn it. I was hoping this one was different.

This a message on X. I copied and pasted it to post on our thread.

Nothing we can do here on earth
will be adequate punishment
for his demonic acts

But if he still lives
Let each breath he draws
Bring him only greater
suffering

Just so angry when I saw Found Deceased label on this thread.
I'd been so hoping these girls would be found alive. Not that I suppose there was a reason to be optimistic...

Those poor sweet girls. And their poor mother.
