One Direction star Liam Payne has died after falling from the third floor of his hotel room in Argentina. He was 31

Maybe he thought he'd make it to the pool? ugh this is such a tragedy. I feel so bad for him.
A person screaming loudly, found with cell, lighter, and whiskey bottle on deck passed away does not sound like suicide. It sounds accidental, a dying scream from od and near death or dying, or more nefarious. Hope the coroner, video can add all this up.

so are you thinking he fell over the balcony? like that kind of accident?

Liam Payne was reportedly under the influence of a potent drug that can cause hallucinations when he plunged to his death from an Argentina hotel room Wednesday night.

The One Direction star was high on the dangerous substance “Cristal,” which “causes users to experience extreme highs and extreme lows, often making them aggressive,” Buenos Aires cops told TMZ Friday.

I feel for this generation. When I was young, you could go home to get away from the negative. You had time to heal and rebound before hitting the world the next day. In today's world, people simply cannot escape the negative or the bullying or the world. This is obviously just my opinion, but I have held this opinion for some time. I know technically people can turn their phones and computers off to get away; but how many people actually do?! They look and then it is right there, all of the negative.

I am sad. A precious life, a talented soul, gone. I am sure he had regrets, but the longer he had to live, the more chance he would have had to rebuild. Look at Robert Downey Jr. You would not believe the past he escaped. There are many, many others. Rest peacefully Liam.

Yes, who jumps with those items...a fall, from a very short glass wall. He apparently was the one who yelled, so still alive. I do not believe suicide and shame on the headlines
It is hard to explain how he went over with those items in his hand.
How high are those balcony railings? I read that he was 5"10. Those railings would have to be very short.
I never really considered a fall given all the stuff I've read about how upset hes been lately, jumping made more sense (before we found out about the items found with him) I thought maybe he was just so upset that he wasnt even thinking about what he was doing. I hope they can find out the truth.

The worst part is even if you turn your computer off, the internet can reach a massive amount of people in such a short time. So the damage happens even if you shut it out.even worse when it's only one side of a story.

if the railing was 4 ft, this gives you an idea of where it would have reached on a man 5"10

I do. I found it strange as soon as I saw the transcript tbh. To me it reads as though he had potentially already jumped/fallen and the hotel feel they may be implicated, so they were backwards engineering this as an attempt to cover something up. JMO. MOO. Research has shown that any kind of 'story building' in a 911 call can indicate the caller has some ulterior motive other than asking for help. It's also odd they don't want the police. Even in a scenario where the jump/fall has already happened, any caller knows the police *must* attend those circumstances.
Can you please provide a link to the research?
Thank you,
Tricia

I don't think those railings reached 4 feet. Look at the pics in post #51.
A seat height is 17 or 18" high. Compare the chairs with the railings in the second pic...from the outside. Those railings are no more than 3' 6" , maybe less imo.

Liam may even have been leaning over the railing, for whatever reason. Who knows, maybe someone was on the balcony underneath or something caught his attention so he tried to look, maybe his feet came off the ground doing so and he lost his balance. He was evidently after all intoxicated.

And floor to ceiling height standard is 9 feet, maybe 10 ft here .... see floor to ceiling sliding doors (first pic)

So sad...

ok I wasnt sure, I looked it up for that hotel in Argentina and it gave me that standard measurement, Makes sense if it was shorter. There's also a table right there. I hope they can figure it out because one article will say no-one saw him fall and another will say a witness said she saw him throw himself over.... im surprised noone has posted the height of the balcony yet

This photo is quite good, and chase hughes is my own source of this info, he talks about it alot on the behaviour panel: not sure if the link above is to the same study or the one he references.

He talks alot about how the focus of the caller (if innocent) should be on seeking appropriate help, rather than explaining unnecessary detail, i think that diagram describes it better than I do though.

I wonder if this holds true for different cultures and languages. I also wonder how accurate the translation of the call is.

If that circled balcony was where he fell from, then that's actually what we USAmericans would call the 4th floor. I think in the UK and other countries, the ground floor is called the terrace level and the next floor up, what we call the second floor, they call the first floor, and so on. Long story short, this is a floor higher than I pictured in my USAmerican mind.
UK calls the bottom floor the Ground Floor then next floor up is 1st floor

I agree with you in many cases that those are red flags when a person is reporting a dead body when they are responsible, but in this case, I feel that the hotel manager was providing details that were explaining the situation, not alibi’ing himself like in cases I’m familiar with. “I was out running errands, first I went to the Piggly-Wiggly, they didn’t have what I wanted, blah blah blah…” while someone is bleeding out next to them.

Also the not wanting to call police is not suspicious to me - This is a global celebrity, and hotels know well to protect celebrity’s privacy. That’s why celebs check in under fake names, etc. Involving police would be embarrassing for the celebrity so he was trying to avoid it if possible.

When you read all the press about what happened, and whether he fell or jumped I have not come across one source that has stated the height of that balcony. Details of everything, from what was in his room to how he was behaving, but not anything about whether or not it was physically possible to fall.
There are standards and building codes for things like this, and I would expect that all hotel's would have meet those ( safety) standards or they wouldn't be allowed to operate.

Trying to blame the hotel is absolutely ridiculous.

How many other people have fallen off their balcony at the hotel this week?

There is only one person to blame for this accident and he is now in a morgue. It’s a horrible tragedy but let’s not try and blame others for the choices he made.
