One Direction star Liam Payne has died after falling from the third floor of his hotel room in Argentina. He was 31

Trying to blame the hotel is absolutely ridiculous.

How many other people have fallen off their balcony at the hotel this week?

There is only one person to blame for this accident and he is now in a morgue. It’s a horrible tragedy but let’s not try and blame others for the choices he made.
I wasn't sure if it was because they dont want to associate his death with a suicide (because of his fan base) I just don't see how its possible that he fell unless he got up on that table, (which is not the hotels fault) the standard balcony height is 4 ft, its a safety standard, here is a picture of a balcony in that hotel, ( its not the room he stayed in but probably close) and If not stated otherwise it must be the standard height.
I dont think its possible to fall over a 4 foot railing,

I mean I'm sure it's possible, but I reckon you'd have to be leaning a fair way over it first to be able to lose your balance enough that you couldn't right yourself.
I guess being under the influence of various substances could very well shift your sense of balance and space perception.
That's all a stretch though, and would need a very specific set of circumstances.
My guess would be that either he jumped, or he was taking a very big risk by climbing and he fell, but bit don't think he could have fallen just by leaning against the balcony railing.

It is implied. If someone stated that the height was standard and it was impossible to fall, there would be different press entirely.
Im no physicist but I know enough to know he couldn't have fallen from standing on the ground.

Liam Payne Likely Procured Drugs from a Hotel Employee Before Death, Indictment Could Follow: Source (Exclusive)

An image of the balcony with people on it clearly showing the railing height. It is from a YouTube clip I don’t want to link to as it has a distateful TMZ image on the front, but that is Liam’s Dad.

You'd have to be leaning right over the railing to accidentally fall from it imo. So either that's what's happened or he jumped from it for whatever reason I reckon.

From what I have read he was found with a shoulder bag containing his belongings and a cap. Also the hotel had locked him in his room until emergency services arrived. I think he was either trying to climb out of the room to escape or did try to end his life and wanted his passport etc to be found with him.

I really hope they didn't lock him in the room ... I'm suprised a hotel of that quality didn't have a security guard who could have supervised him until police arrived.
Although if drink and drugs were involved it's difficult to lay any blame anywhere other than himself...BUT...addiction is an illness compounded by mental health issues...questions are already being aired around hotel staff potentially supplying drugs...why was he in the room alone and why no one called an ambulance when he collapsed in the reception area?..rather than taking him back up to his room
I hope reputation was not put above human safety ...but hopefully all will be revealed...so sad so many "what ifs"

This article also explains why he was still in Argentina

The only way for it to be accidental imo is if he was sitting on the railing, either facing his room or on the other side with his back to the room. People do reckless things when they are under the influence, and sadly it's quite common to hear about young Brits on holiday to Spain for the first time and they mess around, don't realise the dangers, sit on the balcony railings and then lean too far.

I think it's quite possible we may never know if he intended to take his own life or if he accidentally fell.

Exactly why it should not have been reported nationwide as suicide

There are standards and building codes for things like this, and I would expect that all hotel's would have meet those ( safety) standards or they wouldn't be allowed to operate.
While building codes and standards are relatively common in many places there are many more places in the world without safety standards and building codes. I can't speak to the locality here. I can tell you however in the state I currently reside in it can be town to town in some counties and some counties all towns follow the county rule. From vacation trips I've taken some places are grandfathered in and sometimes that's not allowed. In Rhode Island sprinkler systems were required in all new construction builds however many places were allowed to skip that even with the new rules in place while the court cases were being heard and then there were grandfathered places and then you get RI's most infamous night club fire.

yeah that makes total sense, and I wondered if Argentina had different standards, I looked it up before I even posted that height comparison, and I didnt find anything other than it said standard height.
The grandfather thing makes sense too , I remember a family here had a fire and had to replace all their windows because of emergency egress, ( make them big enough for a fully dressed firefighter to get in) She didnt have to meet the new standards until after the house fire.
I am going to guess that in that hotel ( they said it was high end) they met the standards. Too much liability being a hotel.
I know thats why most Vegas hotels doesnt have any rooms with balconies

Can they lock someone inside a room? I sure hope not, I read he had a bit of agoraphobia from his days in one direction. ( its not fact, I read it one article) I also watched some media on them and the mobs of fans around all of them is unbelievable so I wouldnt be surprised if he did have it.

I hear what you're saying, but I think him being drunk and or high doesn't mean he is 'completely to blame' if there were also other factors at play , eg employees of a hotel behaving irresponsibly, trying to cover things up, or building standards not being met. We don't know what happened yet, but there are enough confusing circumstances and conflicting reports, JMO MOO, not to assume there is 'only one person to blame'. Lots of horrible tragedies lead to enquiries. That's fair and just for the dead person and their family. And it also helps avoid future tragedies.

I don't understand how you can lock someone IN a hotel room when you can unlock yourself from inside it though.
