OR - Child killer Diane Downs up for parole - again

Any word on this? Did she even try for parole? I tried locating it in CDCR inmate search which will usually have something about parole status or future consideration but I can't find her case.

That interview is chilling. LIke all her interviews it's all about her. When the nurses station makes an announcement she says "This is my time!" and laughs after being interrupted.

The part from 24:00 where she talks about being told Christie had died and being crushed as Christie was her favourite to being told it was actually Cheryl that died - you can actually hear her laughing as describes asking which daughter died. A total lack of emotion regarding Cheryl.

She says she told the man she was having an affair with that she "thinks she loves her kids more than him". The red flags were clearly there from the start.

It absolutely makes me livid how many horrible killers are eligible for parole- I was not aware she was eligible for parole- how absolutely horrible- I don't think she will get parole but she should never be eligible for it--- our justice system is a massive mess. I hear sentences like 120 years- but guess what, unless that sentence is without parole it means nothing. The perp will be eligible for parole. Rant over

Our justice system is so messed up: Like most of us here, we watch lots of true crime and what makes me absolutely sick is that most of the time, no matter how horrible the crime is, the convicted perp is eligible for parole- i keep screaming at the TV-- This one convicted murdering woman actually wrote in some of her notes or diary that she loved the feeling of killing and yet she is eligible for parole and she is still pretty young---- I will never understand it.

Watching her flippant denials, delusional claims, and especially saying of the children's father "he was going to take custody of MY (emphasis on my, not our) children & that would force me to live in Arizona to be near them" makes me realize that many of us see these sociopathic narcissists in our routine lives and we should not shrug off our innate instincts that tell us they are not right in the head AND they can be very dangerous even though interesting and even charming at times.

So she's to blame for putting them in harm's way when there's no way she could have known this harm would befall them, had it occurred the way she made-up told it.

And she thinks that will compel parole.

Such stunning lack of remorse, accountability and insight.

Lies and subterfuge. I watched and listened and wasn't sure whether to laugh or throw up. I just cannot believe she is still lying about this!

My high school math teacher would describe Diane as "Diarrhea of the mouth and constipation of the brain." I've seen other videos and she never changes - she just talks and talks and talks and talks. I just cannot with this remorseless monster.

She's clearly not capable, but oh the irony, if she were ever granted parole, it would be through admission.

I pity any care provider (psychiatrist, counselor) who has to listen to the insufferable Diane Downs and her storytelling. Exhausting. How she can take the murder and attempted murder of her children, at her hand, and still make it about herself makes the original Narcissus look like a veritable, charitable chap.

Yeah, she's not going anywhere.

Downs also alleged her son told nurses “about the mean man who shot him.” Her attorney Venetia Mayhew said she is planning to submit a DNA motion for the case, noting the “false narrative” that has been shared of her client.

Mayhew also addressed Downs’ attempt to escape prison in 1987, saying that she was “angry,” “heartbroken” and “didn’t know how to fight for herself properly.”
