LE mentioned that S. and McCune may be using public transportation. It is possible to get to the Mt Hood area (Timberline, Government Camp, Rhododendron, Welches, et al) by way of Trimet, and the Sandy, Oregon transit system.

Come to think of it... You are probably right...

he may be too dim witted to plan very well...

and... If they were staying in a lodge/cabin/etc. somewhere... They would most likely have been sighted by the employees... And been alerted to authorities by now....... :sigh:

so.... Back to the theories of:

Camping..(Brrrr)

Breaking into vacant cabins/shelters/etc...

Or...????

- so they couldn't be tracked by the pings...

- so she couldn't call for help when she realized the scary situation she had gotten into...

- He wants TOTAL CONTROL... :devil:

What about places that S. would know about? Was she into camping? He may be a computer genius but she seems pretty bright too. JMO

The more I think about this case, the more it infuriates me. And the more worried for S. I am becoming.

Why can't these losers stick with companions their own age. It obviously comes down to pedophelia, plain and simple. Whether or not the victim is a "willing" companion (and I use this term very loosely, believe me, if anything its more like "grooming"), this disgusting 40 year old has no business with a 13 year old.

This is all so worrisome. It is well below freezing here in Colorado. My dog won't even go out to pee.

I remember how much I wanted to be "grown up" when I was 13, and the real "grown ups" who were more than willing to take advantage of this "stage" I was going through. Makes me so sick to think about it. I had no business with these older folks, and these older folks had no business with me.

I hope that they find this girl safe. I know I have said this before but when it comes camping and nature Oregeon has SOOOO many places you can camp out in and even going up into WA. Also I know that this Facebook Page was just posted recently but I wanted to post it again. I was checking it out and this one looks to be like it is ran by family. Her mom, sister, etc are posting on it:

Clue, this reminds me. It seems I've come across a lot of cases lately where "abandoned houses" were key.

I remember one case in particular on "Disappeared" where a poor guy went to Quiznos to get his sick girlfriend a sandwich. 2 🤬🤬🤬's randomly abducted him, threw him in the trunk....LE (and family/friends) just happened to search every abandoned house in the proximity (Detroit area, IIRC), where they ultimately found his body dumped, gunshot wound to the head.


Then I think of IK, and his liking of abandoned houses.


These are different types of cases, but still. It made me realize to add "abandoned houses" to the top of my list of possible search areas in future cases.


They could very well be in some sort of vacant building!!

OMG where to begin. short story!
He knew the family husband wife and kids three daughters he was helping them move so he kills the mother and the oldest daughter went on the run in the woods with the 2 young daughters eventually cops found them out in the woods and he killed himself and the girls were rescused it was just a horrible case

Oh JTA his wife and mother helped kill and bury the mom and daughter

To add to your list...

A vacant house near Sierra LaMar's house MAY hold some evidence in her missing case...

A little girl was snatched by a neighbor... taken to a vacant house down the street... and murdered... (Sorry... can't remember the name... but is was a WS case...)

Dorner... the serviceman/policeman who went on a shooting spree in CA...holed up in... and was shot in... a vacated (or seasonal) camp in the mountains...

I've said it once already, but I can't seem to wrap my head around the question of did this "man" actually think he could get away with this? Maybe this is more of a physiological and or a common sense related issue. I mean I understand the pedophilia issue and the control issue, but what makes him think he could get away with this? I presume that he "got her on board" with the plan for them to be together, but at her age as teenagers often do, we've all thought something sounded so cool, but when reality hits, we change our tune. Then there's the news coverage of this case. I presume, once again, that he's shielding her away from any news, because if I saw and read that my parents and law enforcement were looking for me, that would tell me right away that this isn't right. It speaks of this guy's arrogance to think he's untouchable or is going to get away with this. He may be a smart guy, especially around computers, but he's not bigger or smarter than us and or law enforcement. All I can say to this guy if he were reading this right now is this...your 🤬🤬🤬 belongs to us when we catch you.

There are literally hundreds, probably upwards of a thousand, missing people just listed on Websleuths alone. A LOT of people DO get away with taking other peoples children, or harming them.

Elvia, 14, was abducted by a 38 year old man. This was also in Oregon. Just like this one, there was talk of a "relationship" between them. But he still took her by force from her house. That was over 4 years ago. She's still missing.

True. Point taken, but I was kind of referring to a non-homicidal type of kidnapping. I mean even with that, your point is spot on. I guess my gut tells me that he has no intentions on actually killing her and that he is running away with her so that they could be together as sick and twisted as that sounds. You know, running away happily ever after. That sort of thing. And that she's going to be on cloud nine and they'll be together..etc. But I still think he will be caught and she will be home because it's going to be a matter of time until she's tired of this if she isn't already. We'll see very soon. (I have to stay positive with this case.) :)

I don't know if anyone cares, but I see "pedophilia" thrown around a lot in these discussions about teenage girls. Pedophilia is actually specifically about the sexual interest in pre-pubescent children, not post-pubescent teenagers. This is its own type of -philia, still disordered and illegal (when acted on), but it's not pedophilia.

Anyway, I'm curious as to how LE was able to get a warrant on this guy for kidnapping. It makes me think they have some evidence we don't know about to indicate she's being kept from returning home against her will.

I'm not sure where people are getting the idea this guy is dim-witted. Do we know anything about his wits? He seemed smart enough to tell her to not bring her phone, to delete messages, and to lure her away from her totally unknowing family. He is apparently a computer genius. I hope he didn't plan this well, and that he is dim-witted, so S. can be found safe, but I don't see anything to indicate he is.
