Another thought: the last person that was seen with Kyron at 9:00am may be totally unrelated to his disappearance, such as the principal, etc. (<--- please don't star a rumor! Just giving an example here...). And they may not want everyone then focusing on someone who they're sure is innocent.

ETA: I wanted to post this b/c I have been assuming that the last person seen with Kyron is a POI. But, LE may have other reasons for keeping that info quiet.

Gosh, Bern, IIRC this sighting was run down (Walmart photo) and it was negative - reported here somewhere. Can anyone remember that too?

I posted it in Kyron's media thread yesterday. Link in my sig.

ITA - and the "possibility" that it was a child is great. With that, and my being a teacher in elementary schools for 15 years - IF it was a child that saw and IF the person with Kyron was a "known member" of the school community - then that child could possibly SAID something to that person (and/or Kyron) - not just "eye contact". Or if the person was not known to the child - then the child could have just said something to Kyron - KWIM? Or if the person with Kyron was another child ..........

This 9AM thing has me spinning in circles here.

ahhh ha!
lol.
I think I understand, now that I'm in you're head a bit. Hey, it's really busy in here! I'm getting dizzy!

I confess that I don't know much about the interior of a Mustang. I've looked through about 100 pages of google images and found exactly two that appear to show a trunk that's accessible from the split back seat that's folded down to gain access to the trunk. That said, consider this..... (I'm not going to bash SM, honest)

I know it's a shot in the dark and probably insane....

Let's assume that Kyron is crazy about his SM and that big ole beaming smile in the project picture was aimed at his SM because she was there and he was thrilled. Maybe he didn't want SM to leave? He's seven, you know, and he's so tiny...and he wears what appears to be thick glasses. Kids can be brutal and maybe Kyron gets picked on some?

So anyway, let's speculate that Kyron didn't want SM to leave. She scoots him off in the direction of his classroom, he protests a little, but goes. But let's say SM heads off in the opposite direction and instead of going to his classroom, Kyron keeps going. But where was he headed?

Maybe SM got distracted as she was leaving the school. I've read she used to work at Skyline so she would know those present at the school. All she'd have to do is stop to talk to someone to create that window Kyron needed. For what.....

Is the "south door" at the school the one that opens to the parking lot? Maybe Kyron, intent on not remaining at school without his SM, circled around trying to get to the parking lot and get into SM's car before she left? Think of the possibilities that could have occured if he did manage to get into her car without her knowledge. If he got into that car without anyone's knowledge, and then got out of it somewhere while she was running errands, God only knows where he is.

I know...it's crazy....but so is all the "no comment" and the fact that this child is gone, they seem to be shying away from a criminal act/abduction, and they label it an isolated incident. You can't label it an isolated incident unless you know what the heck happened IMO. And personally, I find the hit and miss search pattern a little strange.

I'm so frustrated with the lack of information that this seems at least as likely as aliens....and I'm not trying to be funny. It's not funny, at all.

""There was a science fair here at the school," Portland Public Schools spokesman Matt Shelby told CNN. "You had a situation with lots of parents and friends coming through the school, going class to class." "Kyron was here with his stepmother, seen with his stepmother," Shelby said. [29] The roof was also searched. Portland Public Schools spokesman Matt Shelby said two teachers saw Kyron with his stepmother and thought the two left school together. He said it was common for parents to pick up kids this way, so no suspicions were raised. [40]"

Does anyone know if Kyron has previously wandered away - either deliberately or b/c of daydreaming and not paying attention? I haven't read anything here about this.

Please someone post the comments made on the presser today. I have to leave but will be back later....

After the briefing, they are sent out in teams of various sizes and capabilities — some on horseback, some with trained dogs – to scour the area. A hilly mix of forest, farmland and heavy underbrush surrounds the school.

Friday, Multnomah County Sheriff Dan Staton said about 530 state-certified searchers had come to the area from across Oregon, Washington and Northern California to scour the area around the school and other places flagged by investigators.

Hey! You're always welcome in here - though it is kinda cramped but pull up a bean bag and cop a squat. I'm off to sleuth "something" - since you're in here - you know what it is. lol

Just thinking in bed last night.

If someone saw Kyron with a person at the science fair, they might assume its a relative that came to look at the projects. If the last person who saw Kyron didn't recognize this person you can assume that LE would do a sketch and put it in the news. Since this hasn't taken place I'm thinking the last person who saw Kyron either recognize a person, or Kyron was not with anyone and that might be why LE is searching outside. I think at this time if they knew who strayed Kyron out they would of picked them up by now.. Since we haven't heard of abduction, no plea, no strangers that have be talked about, no sketch, no news whatsoever of any thing that points in that direction, I really think he went off. Why, I don't know. Maybe he went to see if SM was still there, forgot something, saw a butterfly and started to wander, got scared by an animal, on such an busy day, with all the excitement the daily schedule at school which helps kids stay in track could of made all this happen. He could of walked in a straight line for the 9 hours he went missing and covered miles and miles in a row. This is so tough. I hate to think he is out there all alone.

I know that wooded area looks immense on photos, but does anyone know how many miles there are of woods/forest in any one direction before a road or highway intersects? If he walks due north for instance, how many miles would he have to walk before coming out of that area? In fact, do we know how many square miles of uninhabitated forest is actually in the area near the school?

IMO, LE is keeping it quiet so people on the internet don't dig into their background and post everything under the sun about them only because they saw Kyron last.
This is a general statement and I am NOT talking about this forum. But as many of you well know, often the last person to see the missing is looked at in an unfair light. Ask Jaycee Dugards stepdad about it.

June 10 - Four o'clock - Transcription - why LE is not releasing more information:
Our investigation at this point remains ongoing. I realize that at earlier briefings Captain Gates has not able to answer all of your questions regarding the investigative portion of this operation. I do want to reiterate that we don't release many details of an ongoing investigation for a number of reasons. Early release of information can affect the operation and integrity of the investigation. New and incoming information is often unconfirmed and needs substantiation prior to release. Misleading information can harm both search efforts and the investigation. If there is information that will cause community participation that will aid in search and rescue efforts, we will bring that information forward.

No, just the opposite. Reports are that he'd never wander away. Wouldn't wander outside view of his house in fact.

for parent to pick up their kids after special events at school and leave. uUsually there are sign-out sheets in the offices when this happens but it can get confusing. I assume that is why there was no phone call home that due regarding absences. Does that make sense?

Hmmmm. I was just wondering if Kyron tended to wander off or occasionally get lost b/c my own son did. That was 40 years ago. He didn't have ADHD or anything, he would just get curious about something and go check it out.
