On the drive to my sons (5) game I told him I wanted to talk about strangers, he informed me he already knew. I said oh really, what if someone says come to the woods with me, your mom said it was ok. My son replied no thanks. I said well here is something important to remember, I gave off a list of friends parents, my friends, people we might just know, asked him what would he say. He didn't reply. I told him the deal is to always come and ask me, I don't care if that person already said I said it was ok. I think this is something that needs to be worked on with all children. Just because I know someone doesn't mean I trust them and thats something I want my kids to learn. Maybe there should be a campaign about double checking with parents first.
