I think they'll have more absences tomorrow than they would have had the swine flu hit that school.

No way would my son attend tomorrow, either. It's only a week or two til the end of school. My son would stay home until A) Kyron is found and the school is safe again or B) the beginning of next school year, and I'd tell them why.

Two security officers wouldn't make me feel any safer.

I'd take mine and sit right there next to her all day. And I'd tell them why, too.

I'd hope that by the age of seven Kyron knew better than that. He seems to me like quite the intelligent child.

I would hope he knew better than that. And, yes, many kids should know better by age seven, but that doesn't necessarily mean they really do.

Also, we don't know for certain that he's never witnessed domestic of other kinds of violence which warranted police assistance, or some other specific event which caused him to associate the police with fear.

I'm not trying to be adversarial, annalyzer (great name, btw:)), I'm just thinking out loud with my fingertips:) I know we all just want this little guy found ASAP and unscathed.

Not that I am accusing Step mom, BUT.... Have we not seen this type of thing before? Where mom appears to be the perfect mom, and it turns out to be the total opposite?

What is concerning me is this. Step mom took him to school, MADE sure to snap a picture, and then IMMIDIATLY placed it on her facebook page. That to me has some red flags, why would she post it so quickly? Why would she not wait until he was at least at home?

To me it sounds like she was setting up an "alibi" of how perfect her family is. So the authorities would not focus on her, because she is sooooooo involved..

IMO

I do this all the time. I take a pic with my phone and upload it to my facebook instantly. Not to create an alibi, it's just how I do it.

I'm not saying the SM is/is not involved.

I just need more to go on than what we have seen.

If LE says her story is not adding up, then let the sleuthing begin, IMO.

i think it may say ALOT if the school is calling it regular day for classes, if it was a stranger abduction i would assume that the school and or LE would have bulletins regarding watch out for **** (you know whatever), but everything about this from the get go is jacked up so my assumptions i should just keep to myself.........

sorry

where are you little man????

I think the south entrance is the front - it faces the garden and then the road and there is no parking lot there. And the playground, if I'm not mistaken. Did he go out to play after SM left?

He didn't say Kyron was seen at the south entrance door alone. He didn't say anyone else was seen with him, either. Just one of those things we'll have to find out later.

I can't imagine how scared the other students are, particularly the younger ones. Can you imagine? I'm sure to them their school is now the stuff of nightmares and boogeymen. And there is no one who can tell the kids there isn't a boogeyman at their school and guarantee their safety. I feel so badly for the kids.

I agree SuziQ. School should be one of the places kids can always feel safe.
This is really sad.

Makes me think that if they can put the publics mind at ease they will, knowing sooner is better ~ and better still to be able to say it was an isolated incident, IF that is the case.

Let's hope we hear something more soon, like the next presser would be a great time!

May the mystery be solved before school is to be back in session Monday morning.

hmm. this case does have a familiar ring to it.

end of the school year, suspected step parent, never made it to the school bus parents of other school kids jittery......

Has there been any mention of the location of the family's home? I'm trying to get an idea of how long a trip it is between the house and the school. TIA

From their home to the school.

I'm hoping the police release something at tonights presser to help the parents and students feel safe about returning to school tomorrow. Something like "Kyron has been found safe!" is what I'm praying for.

or LE Might now want to cause a panic.

Has anyone ever used FB as an alibi?

Yes! I read about this about a week or two ago.

A guy was accused of a robbery, but he said that he couldn't have done it because he was home on his facebook.

The thing is, I visited a lot of hacker/geek sites, and they all laughed that the guy got off because of the FB status. They said it would be so easy to code a program to update for you automatically, when you could be miles away.

I really can't believe that a FB alibi would ever work in a courtroom where the prosecutor and judge knew anything about computers.

Wild story.

Yes!
"For 19-year-old Rodney Bradford, a simple Facebook status update turned into much more: a rock-solid alibi after he was accused of a crime."

I'm not familiar but maybe you can tell me - in his case or any other's posted as examples - did the prosecution happen to compare the accused's FB activity on that specific day to FB activity of another day - say for example the same day a week prior...

I would assume they would have, but you know what happens if you assume.

;)

Does anyone recall a case in which a child was abducted from inside a school by a total and complete stranger who walked in? Ever?

If there is continued sleuthing or disparaging comments about family members, posters will be given time outs.<snipped>

This post from Salem is a WS rule and does pertain to this case.

Bumping this important post. LE has NOT said that SM is a POI, nor have they indicated that they have any concerns about her whatsoever.

Sorry if this has been posted, haven't read back, because this has been moving pretty fast...

Kelley, who lives about a mile and a half down hill, at the end of a winding, secluded country lane off Cornelius Pass, said police, federal agents, K-9 teams and helicopters scoured the area Saturday.

"We had two odd sightings of a vehicle on our road Friday," Kelley said. Around 3 p.m., he and a neighbor reported seeing a white pick-up truck with a female driver pull to the end of the long road, idle and then turn around. Then again at 2 a.m. Saturday morning, a similar white pickup truck appeared, idled and when a neighbor loosed her dogs, eased away.

"A, it was strange to have a car there, any car there, that we didn't know, and B, it was strange to have a vehicle come down our dead-end road twice in the same day, hours after a little boy goes missing," said Kelley. "That's beyond rare."

Hum, this comment sparks my interest. Wonder if the truck belongs to whoever is involved in Krysons disapperance and if maybe this is why LE has narrowed their focus?

The chart is very interesting. I think it could be read in a few different ways, but it definitely can be read to mean what is being implied by some here. I feel for all of his parents, I can't imagine the horror of not knowing where my child is or who he is with. I am still agog at the lax attitude of the school regarding sign-ins and sign-outs of students. What a hard way to learn this lesson.
