Right from day one they were probably running parallel investigations.

I just watched & transcribed the video from this link. I don't 'see' the Sheriff cutting the principal off or hustling him from the podium (all 'editorial' judgments we posters are putting on neutral actions). Reporters start to ask the principal specific questions. He says, I won't answer specifics but if you want to speak in general.. the Sheriff then cuts things off, but I can see it as cutting the reporters and questions off, not the principal for saying 'criminal investigation'.

(snipped)

The video in that link ends before the sheriff escorts the principal out of the room. Considering how the other press conferences went, this ended quite abruptly. JMO, but i think it had to do with what the principal said. And this is the first link I've seen since that included the comment, and I've not found any news articles yet that mention it.

Video Transcription - Principal - criminal investigation reference in press conference of June 8

Reporter: Were there any strangers inside the school Friday morning?

Principal: You know I appreciate people wanting to ask questions about that day, and there's a ongoing criminal investigation, and I'm being asked not to provide details that would compromise that.

Reporter: Were all adults required to sign in and have name tags Friday morning?

Principal: Once again, same, same thing.

Reporter: That's a school policy thing, I mean it's, you're a school.

Principal: Yeah if you want to talk about in general for large school events (interrupted by LE)

LE (interrupting): We appreciate, yeah, we appreciate the questions and (video cuts off)

Today's presser is about half way down the page. It doesn't include the 'criminal investigation' part. I've been unable to find a video that includes it.

So ... I agree... even media's been told to bury that phrase "criminal investigation" for now. LE acknowledges that it's controlling if & when family statement will be issued.

It is frightening and disheartening.

IMO this is someone who was familiar with this school's layout, it's comings & goings, and lack of security. It could be the obvious - volunteers, staff, but it could also be the less obvious - hired contractors, former students, etc.

IMO the general listening community could benefit from more specific direction and more focused tip/lead instructions from LE. The community should be given concrete examples of what type of memories to focus on.

My guess is they are working a list of possibles, that school employees have been asked to look through those RSO photographs, and they are looking to shorten and tighten the list through witness tips that people can provide. As mentioned above, all known area RSOs have been or are being been interviewed for current location and alibis. If they haven't located all RSO's yet, they are thinking about where those RSO's might otherwise be.

It's interesting that some of their ground searching locations are now based on tips they've received from the community.

I wonder if they are visiting the kids who have refused to return to school at their homes? I'm still wondering if any kids know Kyron played hookey for a bit - perhaps a "partner in crime" returned, thinking Kyron was waylaid, and they don't know what to do about it now...

LE (Jason Gates) said it was a grammatical error on Principals part - saying criminal investigation

They are not prepared to call it a criminal investigation. Comfortable calling it a missing/endangered case.

Sheriff just said in the PC that the 'criminal investigation' phrase was a misuse of words and why they want more control of the story.

A reporter specifically called him out on the principal's words at the last PC.

NO reason to believe this is nothing other than an isolated case

Info they have recv'd does not suggest it would be a national search at this point.

If the email was sent that morning when she got home, when would the teacher have had time to read it after 8:45 with all the kids, activities and talentshow at 1pm?So,that would have run probably about an hour till 2 or so.She still would have had practically the whole school day without knowing about an appt. The backpack and coat were in the classroom, backpacks are hung up in classroom,he was seen in classroom showing his exhibit. Was the teacher not in there, didn't see him?

There are so many unanswered questions, but I can't see a teacher having time to read emails during that morning or later that day.If she read it after school when he was reported missing,to me that's just a covering of herself not putting two and two together,he was there, then he wasn't.Terri wasn't made aware by the school he was marked absent, and why they're implimenting that automatic calling to parents now when the child is marked absent.I think they screwed up,no sign ins for parents, till now,if he was marked absent, there was no sign out by Terri she was taking him out of school.

I believe they are implementing it now in order to eliminate future problems of this nature. Yes it is too bad these safety measures weren't in place before Kyron went missing but it might help keep other students safe. Also I am sure that parents and teachers both are requesting it.

Just catching up today, I think they are holding everything close because they feel it is possible Kyron is still alive. I think they know who or a general idea and are trying to locate whomever. They have Kyron at the top of the FBI list right now, that says alot. Releasing information at this point could bring harm to Kyron. I don't feel he is passed I think he is still with us.

I knew from the start he did not wander away it just did not fit for me, I know there has been speculation that a woman may be involved, for some reason that fits for me. Kyron would feel comfortable with a woman most children do, what they want him for I can only guess but to me it seems planned out, well in fact.

Dad works for Intel right ? Does he hold a high postion ? I could only hope he has been taken for money/ransom. If what JK seen was Kyron in the truck on Saturday then this is a good sign. Most kidnappings end in horror within the first 24 hours.

I will keep praying for Kyron and his family, I hope the FBI can crack this quick....this all of course is jmo.....

FBI has offered assistance, they have more resources, this is a huge search and rescue effort, cooperation from fbi has been seamless - working well together.

Something about "people can live 2 weeks" - didn't hear the question. Not giving up.

These reporters need to SPEAK UP when asking their questions!

Put Gates on the spot by asking the question of asking if he ever knew of a case where a stranger came into a school, and took a child.

No set number of days to stop searching, but will follow case to resolution.
