My local Willamette Valley news says counties around the state are sending LE members over there to assist in offices, etc while the local LE deals with this. So now there's less LE in my county tonight? Awesome.

I lifted this from blue tarp guy's public FB page, where someone posted it after his interview. I have a feeling he won't live this down.

But as stupid as this seems, please don't underestimate any of these Militia/Patriots. The FBI takes them very seriously as the earlier link explains:

Who they are. Like many domestic terrorism groups, militia extremists are anti-government. What sets them apart is that they’re often organized into paramilitary groups that follow a military-style rank hierarchy. They tend to stockpile illegal weapons and ammunition, trying illegally to get their hands on fully automatic firearms or attempting to convert weapons to fully automatic. They also try to buy or manufacture improvised explosive devices and typically engage in wilderness, survival, or other paramilitary training.
Who and what they target. They usually go after the government itself—including law enforcement personnel, representatives of the courts, and other public officials, along with government buildings. When caught, most militia extremists are charged with weapons, explosives, and/or conspiracy violations.

so...are these brainiacs facing felony charges? As in 'take away their guns...gasp' felonies? Because that would be poetic justice in spades...

I'll bet my social security check that they'll be requesting court appointed attorneys.

Fame. And Revolution!

Wolverines!

I would mail them some Bowie, Beatles, and one of these:

http://mshop.mlb.com/product_new/index.jsp?productId=1863304

but I'm too cheap and too lazy.

From "Revolution" (Lennon/McCartney)
BBM for emphasis

You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world

But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out

Don't you know it's gonna be alright
Alright, alright

You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We'd all love to see the plan

You ask me for a contribution
Well, you know
We're all doing what we can

But if you want money for people with minds that hate
All I can tell you is brother you have to wait

Don't you know it's gonna be alright
Alright, alright, al...

You say you'll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it's the institution
Well, you know
You'd better free your mind instead

But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow

Don't you know know it's gonna be alright
Alright, alright

Alright, alright
Alright, alright
Alright, alright
Alright, alright

Yes, but to compensate, all members of your community are being offered blue tarps at no cost.

They provide not only an impenetrable shield of protection, but also a cloak of invisibility, insuring your safety against bad guys. And the Gubmint.

Wow those are some really good posts, but it seems like some of you were having way too much fun.. I hate to say it but if I were there, I'd be hiding under a tarp also. I wouldn't want my friends or family to know that I hung out with this bunch of goobers. It would be best for him if he came out from under his tarp, or out of the closet. Maybe then he could get some help, after all admitting that you've got a problem is half the battle in recovery..

Actually, I think it's quite funny that the government is ignoring them. They look more like idiots, IMO.

Who's who -- a Playbill provided by The Oregonian with brief bios on the following who are on site and at the core of this clown car:

Ammon Bundy
Ryan Bundy
Mel Bundy
Ryan Payne
Jon Ritzheimer
Blaine Cooper
Robert "LaVoy" Finicum
Jason Patrick

Blaine Cooper

Cooper, 36, is also known as Stanley Blaine Hicks. He lives in Humboldt, Arizona, a small town on the outskirts of Prescott, and also participated in the Nevada standoff. Cooper frequently posts videos to YouTube related to causes ranging from support for civilian patrols along the U.S.-Mexico border to protest against federal land bureau's management practices. He has registered a film company, Third Watch Media. Cooper was convicted of aggravated assault, a felony, in 2009. He faced several other charges in Arizona courts, but they were dismissed.

Cooper appears to be taking a role as one of their "new media" propagandists.

There are others who are identifiable (Blue Tarp Camo notwithstanding) and known in those circles, including Pete Santilli.

And of course, Infowars now has one of their "correspondents" on location.

Pretty much all of these identified yokels have a chest-thumping, saber-rattling online presence.

IMO, they are more of a threat of danger to and amongst themselves at this juncture.

From what I can tell by some of their social media posts from yesterday, their "intelligence" reports had National Guard and an assortment of law enforcement bearing down upon them as a threat, sending them scurrying for their Tarps.

Performance art. Can't say I've ever been a fan.

I do take seriously their incessant threats against law enforcement and federal personnel. Most, if not all, of these folks are aching to be seen as "heroes."
