Can you imagine how quiet that apartment is without her bubbly, vibrant, beautiful personality there, and the emptiness ?

May God give you strength Clint.

I would like to hear from Holts wife. If he had any personality changes recently, if he acted strange around Whitney, anything abnormal!

RT @MikeBennerKGW: Holt appeared in court. Answered "yes" to the judge 3x, wiped tear away from his eye.http://bit.ly/WEuhnZ

Whitney Heichel may have been sexually assaulted before she was murdered. Jonathan Holt arraigned on aggravated murder to conceal sodomy.

#breaking Court papers accuse Jonathan Holt of robbery, sodomy, kidnapping in death of Whitney Heichel; bkgd: http://kptv.tv/PMo9YR

Dear God. :(

Many of us on here have suspected a prior obsession/stalking etc. Thank you for this post. Now we know it is true. He's been playing this out in his mind for a long time now. So sad and frightening.

The second part of your statement, based on evidence noted all ready, is likely true...that there was a sexual component to her murder. In my opinion, the truth of "he'd been obsessed with her for a long time" will be proved true or not in court, depending on those unnamed 'sources' and their believability.

(I question journalism that doesn't back itself up by naming sources.)

Another thing that niggles me...why the absolute proliferation of evidence in SO many locations (cell phone deposited near apts., mulitple ATM and gas transactions, car left at Wal Mart, some belongings in trash receptacles in two different places near her car, one car mat left at the park, etc.)...and with all that...the deliberate removal of just ONE of the two license plates, leaving it on Larch Mt. (which discovery--how?--prompted search which led to body). It's almost as if the perp(s) wanted to leave a trail that would 1) establish plenty of evidence of where the car had been, and 2) drop evidence that would lead church members (or other searchers) to her body before too much time passed.

Unanswered, too, is the question about the first 'tip' that led police to first question Holt. I have no doubt there is evidence tying Holt to the car and crime; I just wonder if the case is more contrived, somehow...

A lot of unanswered questions, the license plate is weird, at first I thought Oregon may be a state with only one plate. Does not make a bit of sense!

How they got to Holt had to be one of two ways, either WH cell phone, or he confessed to JW.

Re: Clint laughing or smiling at the presser: I am one of those kind of people who are rather shy and would rather die before I had to address a group of people. When I am in the unfortunate position of having a large group of people all looking at me, I get very nervous and get an urge to giggle, even though I am terrified and literally distraught. The alternative would be to burst into tears and that would just spiral into something nobody wants to witness. I can't help it, and it may appear unnatural, but I am not alone. Lots of people have nervous laughter and it does not mean they are enjoying themself or find the situation amusing in any way. Clint does not seem like the kind of guy who is enjoying the attention, and perhaps it was simply nervous laughter for feeling upset, confused, and very out of place at a press conference. That's my two cents.

I couldn't agree more. I would be terrified to have to go up to the podium and talk. In my mind I feel like what I would want to do is scream out to everyone to please find my baby - please! But in reality I don't think it would happen that way. Stage freight, invasion of privacy, fear of doing or saying the wrong thing - casting unwarranted suspicion - all of it - would be horrific to go through.

That's why I also posted earlier about Holt's wife and how he victimized her too in so many ways. Forcing people's lives to be scraped over with a fine tooth comb. Horrible for all involved.

What we know for a fact in the social sciences is that we learn from our own behavior. Our own behavior teaches us about ourselves. It's not the fantasy in the mind (of what we are or what we would do etc) it is the actual behavior itself that shows us the mirror of who we are. We learn about our own selves from our own actions. Good and bad, alike.

Thank you for you post - it was spot on.

Holt's reported peeping activity has spoken volumes to me from the get go. That he was the stalking obsessive type. The woman he was "peeping" and her Husband must feel sick too. I know i would feel this could have been me. I would be quite interested to hear what "stashes" Holt had. Personal items belonging to Females :moo:

That's what I'm thinking. Clint said that surveillance cameras show the SUV going in the wrong direction (not the direction Whitney would have been coming from if coming from home or work), so Holt must have tanked up in between the park and the mountain. Since she was killed at the park, then she was deceased at the gas station. Locals, does that make sense?

I still suspect he drove straight from Dodge Park area to Larch Mountain well before the stop at the gas station at 9:14. (I can't believe he would drive around this metro area with a body in the car during rush hour.) That would make the timeline between 6:45 at 9:14 tight, but possible.

Then he returned to Gresham, but had no gas, stopped to get ("a small amount of") gas at 9:14, disposed of her belongings, etc. before dumping the car at 11:17.

He was a busy guy that morning.

It sounds as though he confessed. I hope he gets convicted based upon a confession and the family can be spared going through a trial.

absolutely makes since. That is completely the direction one would take from Dodge Park to Larch Mountain/Corbett area.

Facing 7 counts aggravated murder, crime spree in two counties. Charged in Clackamas because murder occurred here. Kept his head down, suicide smock. Answered questions with a yes/no. She was shot and killed near Lake Rosalyn.
DNA analysis links him to the crime.

Suspect's neighbor: The guy was sane when I met him, a totally normal guy. He must have snapped.
A former co-worker worked until late this summer at a local restaurant, Troutdale Subway. She was shocked to find he'd be arrested for this crime.
She was working with him alone at night so often and she never would have expected it.

Had not seen this mentioned before. Is Lake Rosalyn in Dodge Park?

As for sodomy, I would urge posters to pick a source of their chosing, Webster, Wiki Pedia /whatever and look it up on their own before this becomes 15 pages of threads all with similar versions of what sodomy is. Just saying.

Upthread, another poster (sorry I don't remember who) posted the legal definition of sodomy as interpreted by the state of Oregon.

It's a state-to-state sort of thing. Depending on the state, sodomy might mean consensual oral sex, might be forcible anal rape. Just depends on the way the statutes are written.

My theory on the different evidence sites is that he was trying to disguise this as a robbery/car jacking. I think his sole intent was sexual assault. She probably consumed his every waking thought. He knew if he carried out his desires, she'd have to die because she knew him.

He tried every trick in the book to make it look like something else.

The media needs to leave Clint and other family members alone. If they volunteer to speak, so be it. Otherwise, they should back off.

And the public should leave his doorstep alone. I know they mean well, but...it's a private place. I wouldn't appreciate people leaving lit candles next to my front door. Grrrr....

I think the same thing, too. I would want complete privacy until I was ready on my terms to talk to the world.

I grew up in a big city in the south and then lived in Portland and surrounding areas for over a decade. I am ever so grateful that I was able to move to a rural private property and have my own acreage now. Not even the google car can ride around here. It's a peaceful feeling like I have never known from the city life.

As much as the public wants to know every nook and cranny of what Clint is going through, I think we all know what he is going through and don't need to hang outside around his door. You nailed it, Boodles. Thanks for the post!

Going to Larch Mountain, then to the Shell gas station, then to Walmart would have quite a bit of backtracking. Honestly, the Shell is right across from the community college. If he had already been to Larch Mountain, he could have just left the vehicle at the college instead of getting gas and driving the 2 miles over to Walmart which isn't even on the same street as the Shell.

The Walmart is right at the highway exit one would take in getting back from Larch Mountain.

Tried to make it look like a car jacking by buying can and bringing the car back to a populated area? When a Car is Jacked isn't it stolen and kept?

In my opinion the nature of the crime speaks volumes already; the sodomy was meant to humiliate her, & the multiple shots show his rage towards her.
He probably proposed them being together (pure speculation on my part) and she refused I am sure. I am guessing that possibly she was trying to use her powers of reason with him, trying to use any common ground, but to no avail. I will bet that since she may have thought she somewhat "knew him" (since they occasionally may have seen each other @ the Kingdom Hall), maybe she didn't fear him as much as she would have a perfect stranger. So she may have tried to act a little more boldly than she would have otherwise, & refused to lay willingly. This would explain (to me) the lack of visible injury to him & his face. So he thought he would "teach her a lesson" & humiliate her.
I don't know, I am just guessing & trying to figure out a way this scum could have possibly lost it & done this to this poor young girl. It's disturbing even typing this ...I wish our news stations covered the hearing so I could see him. He will never suffer as much as he made her suffer, as well as all three families & friends, by what he has done.

I wonder if this is the first time he has done anything like this?

Is this charge strictly because he used her ATM card at the gas station? Just wondering if that was it, or if he made an ATM stop somewhere and tried to withdraw money?

That is my recollection. There was one use of Whitneys card.
