I agree that OP would not have remained on the bed, or seated or in any way immobile during a heated argument. The problem is I can't imagine him waddling around on his stumps either. He would surely have hoisted himself up on his prostheses to assert himself during a row. We now have the unlikely scenario of him dismounting in order to fire the shots.

Totally agree. It is part of his punishment so it should be what is best for the community as a whole rather than what a killer wants. Do you recall in the trial when the hopeless prison expert woman suggested community service rather than incarceration as a punishment and cleaning was one of the things she mentioned and the first time Roux was back on his feet he was coming up with alternatives to cleaning! he he. I am sure that doing anything `menial` is the last thing Pistorius wants so the nasty part of me hopes it is first on the list.

Maybe cleaning along the side of the highway he claims to have been shot at on and that might jog his memory as to who came and got him and who took him back the next day. He is quite dumb really. He could have just said he was shaken by the incident, pulled over for a while till he calmed down and then drove home and no one could have disproved it. Instead he embellishes it to the point where (just about) anyone can see it was completely made up in order to try and bolster his claims about his fearful nature.

I'm with you all and on cleaning. maybe with a toothbrush as suggested. Or better, floss.

In all seriousness OP should be working at a morgue that serves a township where gun-crime victims are wheeled in on an hourly basis.
Or he can do the laundry/ sluices/ clean the operating room in a hospital where said same victims have been treated.

As it's one of the top gun crime capitals globally and he is now part of that problem/ those statistics - it is most appropriate and in line with "creative sentencing" solutions that I posted at start of thread.

On the other side: I asked my son's girlfriend "Can you imagine to argue via phone if being in the same (large) home with your boyfriend?" She (unfortunately) answered "No,never!"

I think, perhaps, that Arnie will choose your idea when he wants to communicate with OP after release. Arnie in the big house will barricade himself into his strongroom ( gun store) whilst OP is staying in the bungalow in the garden.

I just think of the following situation: Maybe Reeva and OP were at this time at different locations in the house and argued via phone??? Then it's possible the witness heard only the female voice if nearby and didn't hear the male voice because OP was in another room?? On the phone you (Reeva) can very well loudly shout and argue without a pause, if you (Reeva) have main things to say. Even if OP had answered a few sentences, the witness wouldn't have heard something. Maybe the allegations and accusations from Reeva to OP via phone had triggered the whole violent and deadly end. May also be, this call had been deleted by a nice and savvy brother.

Possible if one was downstairs and the other upstairs. I have always thought the argument began downstairs and ended upstairs.

He is not a threat to society. - We don't know yet.
Up until the tragedy he had achieved more in his short life than anyone else we know. - Has nothing to do with a murder.
Oscar is a first time offender, there is no prior record of criminal activity, he was charged with Culpable Homicide and sentenced to five years, serving ten months of this sentence in prison. - Friends have lied for him, otherwise perhaps not a "Firsttime Offender".
He has the most remarkable attitude despite having gone through this tragedy and having taken his punishment as a man. - Yes, with playing football.
He has more than admitted his faults.- No, he had NOT. Always the faults of someone else.
He has shown very deep remorse right from the beginning and must live with the consequences for the rest of his life. - Remorse because of his own life, yes.
There are two families struggling to come to terms with this tragedy. - Exactly!!
As a result Oscar has lost everything, almost, he can try again. - He will try and he has support from family, no problem.
He will not arrive at the same level as he had before, but he can do different things with his life to strive for better than he has now. - Level as a sportsman or level as a criminal?
No matter how much contempt is not going to bring Reeva back. - That's true but he deserves more punishment than only contempt.

:wave: Hi IB. You're a month early. The back door? Ha, if they have a VIP exit I'm sure he'd use that. Don't forget he's "special".

I wonder why the terms of his release won't be published. I wasn't aware that these were special. :waitasec: , Oh, but of course, he is "special".

One imagines he won't be able to get a gun licence.
Won't be allowed to possess a firearm (notwithstanding the fact that Uncle Arnold would own many. Can he prevent OP from getting hold of one? I very much doubt that because his rhino horns were stolen from a large walk-in safe at work. I'd be surprised if people own safes like that in their homes. Funny we never heard more about those horns. Apparently they had "good leads".
No alcohol. What goes on behind closed doors is another matter. It will be interesting to know if they do spot checks.
No socialising (at clubs etc), but plenty of room at the mansion for parties.
Apparently training is questionable as he's no longer a professional athlete and has no sponsors.

Even if he breaks one or more of the conditions, he gets a couple of warnings before he returns to prison. But then again ...
