If anyone else is having difficulty loading pages can you please post.
If there's a few posters experiencing same I'll contact the mods.
I don't have issues with any other websites, just this one .
(I can load 3 or 4 posts and then it pauses with "waiting for ap lijit " etc. )

Cottonweaver, I have been having difficulty with loading - just on this site only. A message pops up informing that there is a problem with the WS site and the browser has to reload (sometimes several times). Also find between 11-17 tracking cookies after WS.

@Soozie - I can't reload you post again to reply.
Thanks, yes, I changed from safari to Chrome as Safari had issues
Now on a brand new machine, it's also a new version of Chrome. So I wasn't expecting WS to be a problem again. ( Logging in is always going to take multiple attempts but I don't mind that really)
If I go to a WS page with no ads, eg. the FORUM page, there are no issues with part loading.

@Fuskier
Thanks. It definitely seems to be advert& cookie issues, as you say. It's taking me 5 or 6 attempts to load a page. Or it just won't load as it gets to the second ad bar on the page.

I know Interested Bystander has a range of problems with posting.

I'm thinking that when it comes to the Appeal in Nov, it could do with fixing! I don'r know if Carte Blanche are doing a live broadcast for SCA, but if it's live tweets pasted on WS by eg. Zweibel, it'll be a mare.
So anyone else, please post and I will direct the mods to these pages, saves "everyone" emailing.

Anyway, while we await the defence's emergency order at the hIgh court:thinking:........

This 6 min video is quite interesting, came across it whilst looking at tweets yesterday- i don't recollect it ever being posted on here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74ZbdERAUaw&feature=youtu.be&a

Different topic, whilst I was looking at twitter, amusing to see Barry Bateman was getting bashed by a Pistorian CarolW regarding the non-release
https://twitter.com/barrybateman/with_replies

This Pistorian does make a valid point though in relation to the hard drive discovery. How can that now count in his new parole hearing when it was found prior to the June hearing and clearly made no difference then?

The new website has enabled me to log in using IE and my access is better than before but Chrome is definitely far better. I have IE9 on my laptop (running on Vista) and it is not possible to upgrade IE for Vista beyond this. On my desktop I have Windows 7 and a much newer version of IE and have no problems. One might ask why I don't use my desktop. That means decanting to the study but I would much rather sit in the lounge and use my old laptop which can easily be tucked away when necessary.

I have noticed a huge number of warnings being issued by my security software since the new website started. I regularly run Malwarebytes (free to download although a more advanced program can be bought) to rid my machine of all the rubbish that gets deposited and slows the computer down. Defragging is another regular exercise (unnecessary if one has a solid state hard disk, soI have been told).

For some unknown reason the problem I had with words being attached to one another (although produced in Word and edited before posting) which made posts difficult to read, has improved during the last week or so. I still have no idea whether it was my problem, caused by Word, or something to do with the website that has been "cured".

Maybe try adblock (for Chrome) just for WS if the adverts are causing issues? I have it installed and it works a treat!

“Judge Greenland believes one of the reasons for Oscar’s detainment is his lack of any remorse or contrition. He reminds us that parole is a privilege one needs to earn”.

Many of us would agree with these sentiments. After all, OP has never shown even a hint of remorse. To date he’s never said “I killed Reeva”, only that it was an accident, and when pushed by Nel during the trial, the most he could bring himself to say was “I did”. Remorse is one of the considerations for a prisoner being granted correctional supervision or house arrest.

Lisa and Nick think there’s something else at play. They believe OP may do a runner and become a fugitive and that this may be the reason why the board has chosen to detain him for the time being.

“The Pistorius family certainly has the means to whisk Oscar away and provide him with a comfortable life. A month from now, if the appeal is successful, Oscar’s sentence could increase by many years. If it does, and if Oscar’s at home with his uncle, do we really believe Oscar will willingly turn himself in? Hasn’t the Pistorius family already, in many ways, helped Oscar go on the run? Haven’t they always helped him evade responsibility?”

This has been discussed here many times. He certainly has the wherewithal to flee the country, particularly with the aid of his uncles, one of whom owns a helicopter. The Pistorius family have business interests in the neighbouring country of Mozambique which doesn’t have an extradition treaty with SA . This would be so convenient – the family could arrange a job, shelter, freedom and their ability to visit him whenever they chose. If this thought was ever going to cross his mind, that time would be now if he was to be released prior to the appeal.

This is surely in the realms of fantasy. People have been insisting that he'd have reason to flee all along and yet he didn't. It's pretty plain that op and his family don't think it was murder so a conviction for murder is what they'll be trying to avoid. Running away won't solve anything if they want the law to agree it wasn't murder. They have the money to appeal if he is convicted.

The panel of experts will include Leon Fine, a specialist psychiatrist in private practice, Herman Pretorius, the head of the psychiatry department at the Weskoppies Hospital, and Jonathan Scholtz, who heads the clinical psychology department at the hospital.

......
On this basis, it is my contention that Mr. Pistorius’ right to dignity has been violated by various organs of the state, and sections of the media and public at large. I further contend that these violations have taken place publicly over a prolonged period of time, during which there has been little or no attempt made to uphold or protect his rights by those to whom this duty is entrusted. Furthermore, there has been little or no attempt to prevent, condemn or penalise those, who in driving their public attacks on Mr. Pistorius’ dignity and well-being, have also acted against the interests of the moral well-being of society. On the contrary, I would suggest that society at large has been actively encouraged to behave immorally and to tolerate and support dehumanising behaviour, with flagrant disregard to Mr. Pistorius’ human rights and his physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Violation of the Right to Human Dignity by Police and National Prosecuting Authority (NPA)
......

OP seemingly always has an important supporter on his side. I wonder, why.

Btw Uncle A is tweeting the further content of above link: "Oscar Pistorius - A Case of Unequal Justice" .............

Government statement on #OscarPistorius parole - stressing that parole board is "autonomous"

Parole board considers Pistorius case

Pretoria - The Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Supervision and Parole Board (CSPB) is sitting today to reconsider the case of Oscar Pistorius's placement under correctional supervision.

“The autonomous CSPB of Kgosi Mampuru II is expected to consider all issues raised by the Parole Review Board and make a decision, which will be communicated accordingly,” the Department of Correctional Services spokesperson Manelisi Wolela said.

Wolela could not speculate or predict the outcomes of today's meeting of the parole board.

The sitting follows the setting aside by the Parole Review Board of the CSPB's 5 June 2015 decision to place Oscar Pistorius under correctional supervision with effect from 21 August 2015.

The call for the review of the decision was submitted by Justice and Correctional Supervision Minister Michael Masutha on the grounds that the decision was taken prematurely and contrary to the Correctional Services Act. – SAnews.gov.za

BREAKING: #OscarPistorius parole hearing postponed to 21 October - so board can consult with Reeva Steenkamp's family @eNCA
.

I expect the ANCWL will give June some support with this , as they supported the family every day of the trial.

This is their most recent interview , to my knowledge, ( 24 August 2015) showing their state of mind.

http://mg.co.za/article/2015-08-24-steenkamps-adamant-pistorius-deliberately-killed-their-daughter

“How can 10 months be enough? He killed her. He admits he killed her. She’s dead. Why didn’t he just let her walk away? Why?” her mother June Steenkamp said in an interview with Australia’s Channel Seven, broadcast Sunday evening.

“Only Oscar will know for the rest of his life what really happened and would you like to live with it? Would I? Never, ever.”“We will leave it to the justice system,” Reeva’s father Barry Steenkamp told the broadcaster. “It’s not finished, not finished by a long way.

“If the outcome is there’s going to be a longer sentence, are we going to feel better? I don’t know.”

Her father is convinced they had a fight and Pistorius killed her in a fit of rage.

“He got angry, she went off to the toilet, locked herself inside, and then him pulling out the gun and shooting,” he said.

“When he realised that had happened, then he couldn’t stop and he had to carry on until it was finished.”

“I would say, ‘All I want you to realise is that you have ruined our lives. You have taken her life, her possible marriage or having a baby. Our grandchild. And you have ruined our lives.’ I just want to say that,” June Steenkamp said.

PS. Thanks all for IT tips , will let you know what I hear back from the mods too.

What a hot mess this is. First they said he was going home in late August. And then they said OP had to wait in jail while awaiting his appeal. But then, under pressure from OP's attorneys, they said that they would have an emergency meeting today, and he could possibly be quickly released. Oh wait, meeting postponed until end of this month....

I am fine with keeping him in as long as possible. But it is weird that it seems so chaotic and haphazard. JMO
