Thx for the pix of him, more straight-on than profile.

Looks like he musta run into a door, clumsy guy.

What a relief his capture must be to LE and residents of the area. Good work LE.

I wonder if there was a tip called in. Was he caught in the original search area? Any maps?
Sorry for not making sense of the geography & layout of the area.

Is anybody surprised he didn't kill himself?

no, but thought he would like suicide by cop to go down in a blaze of glory so to speak, I think he is a low life coward ambushing LEs the way he did.

Surprised about the clean shaven face

I know US Marshall's were involved.

Surprised about the clean shaven face
Me too.

He is clean shaven (something my better half predicted) but his hair is grown out and he looks like he sure needs a shower. Also appears to have lost weight~no surprise there.

Curious why your better half thought he would be clean shaven.

The airplane hangar where he was found, according to an ABC tweet.

Twenty miles? That's as far as he got? Geez...hardly worth the effort. Guess it was harder than he thought it'd be, what with all the police & helicopters hunting him night & day. Now he gets a reality-check.

HUGE thanks out for the clarifications. and maps.
Mea Culpa on the misspelling of Birchwood.

Looking closer, he is not shaven, he has a light and light colored beard.

While on missions, my better half was required to dry shave with a knife. They are expected to maintain discipline, civility, military code of conduct and hygienge for health and psychological purposes. It also tactically helps them to become an invisible part of the populace, lost in a crowd. They also learn to take care of themselves and learn that they do not need modern conveniences to do so.

(I just got a whole lecture on the homeless and their habits. lol)

He felt Frein would do this to better blend in for escape purposes and that tactically he would have left the area some time ago. It would help him hide in plain sight. Every city has a homeless population, the invisible population that he could have disappeared into easily.

I gave him too much credit. Apparently playing soldier and survivalist left him skill-less in comparison to the real thing. If he couldn't hunt and fish, he could at least have had a cache of MREs.

Better half summarizes that it would be tactical and he overestimated him, however he was trained to overestimate rather than underestimate one's adversary. He also says this would have been taught in military tactics, procedures and history and supposedly he was educated in these.

Sorry for the long post.

I expect he will also be charged with weapons of mass destruction. One account said he had explosives with him in the hangar.

RE: News conference: http://wnep.com/on-air/live-streaming/

Frein was found in a field outside the hangar and did not have a gun in his possession. He was caught by surprise. He appears to be in good condition.
The prosecutor will pursue the death penalty.
They are pursuing a search warrant to search the hangar.

He had the scrape on his nose when he was apprehended. Really? Why would he not have wiped it off?
