PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The search for a missing Philadelphia woman is expanding Friday in the city's Germantown section.

Police are actively scouring the grounds of Awbury Arboretum. Officials have blocked off several intersections around the area, which includes a large wooded area down the street.

It's unclear right now exactly what police are searching for Friday morning.

"Our evidence we have put us in this location," Frank Vanore, deputy commissioner for Philadelphia police, said in a press conference update on Friday, adding that, "Nothing relevent to this investigation, so far, has been found."

Oh boy guys, just saw this.

Officials said police cadets are being brought out for a grid canvas search.

K-9s were also brought out to search the area.

Sources say the FBI is also assisting with this search and investigation.

“We certainly see some signs that this person wasn’t voluntarily missing.”
LISTEN:
@PhillyPolice @PPDFrankVanore says “Evidence in the case has led us here to Awbury Arboretum grounds, 3 miles down Stenton Avenue from where 23 year old Kada Scott vanished from where she works.

He also said "...we are looking into who she contacted." 🤔

Three miles from Kada's work, so maybe she met someone and walked there? Cell phone ping most likely? I hate this stage, hoping for the best and this is simply another clue to investigate.

I hate this stage too and ache for her parents.

I wonder if they are also searching Wissahickon Park, it's massive and feels extremely remote in some parts.

Her LLC which I found will be suspended soon for lack of filing the annual report (Due Sept).

She's young and seems to have an entrepreneurial spirit, I wonder if anyone was helping her launch a business venture? Catfished but not in the normal sense, if you get my drift?

Catfished how? Financially? Scammed?

While of course it could be a coincidence, I am very interested in the person or people who she said had been harassing her by phone leading up to her disappearance. Getting harassing calls and then she goes missing? I feel like they may be linked.

Could the harasser(s) have contacted her again while at work and somehow enticed her to come out and meet them at their car? Maybe promising that if she just went to talk to them, they would stop bugging her? And then once she was in their car, they took off with her. Perhaps there is a street cam somewhere near this arboretum and they think they saw her in a vehicle going that way?

Doesn't sound like LE found anything - but I'm not seeing updates. Are they still searching?

Police scoured the grounds of Awbury Arboretum, which is about three miles from where Kada Scott was seen last Saturday night.

Officials blocked off several intersections around the area, including a large wooded area down the street. The park is 55 acres, but police say they're focused on the area off of East Johnson Street.

"To this point, nothing has been found that's related to the investigation. We found some clothing items, which we don't know if they're related to this or not, but they were taken to look into," said Frank Vanore, deputy commissioner for Philadelphia police, said in a press conference update on Friday."
