PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The search for a missing Philadelphia woman is expanding Friday in the city's Germantown section.

Police are actively scouring the grounds of Awbury Arboretum. Officials have blocked off several intersections around the area, which includes a large wooded area down the street.

It's unclear right now exactly what police are searching for Friday morning.

"Our evidence we have put us in this location," Frank Vanore, deputy commissioner for Philadelphia police, said in a press conference update on Friday, adding that, "Nothing relevent to this investigation, so far, has been found."

Oh boy guys, just saw this.

Officials said police cadets are being brought out for a grid canvas search.

K-9s were also brought out to search the area.

Sources say the FBI is also assisting with this search and investigation.

“We certainly see some signs that this person wasn’t voluntarily missing.”
LISTEN:
@PhillyPolice @PPDFrankVanore says “Evidence in the case has led us here to Awbury Arboretum grounds, 3 miles down Stenton Avenue from where 23 year old Kada Scott vanished from where she works.

He also said "...we are looking into who she contacted." 🤔

Three miles from Kada's work, so maybe she met someone and walked there? Cell phone ping most likely? I hate this stage, hoping for the best and this is simply another clue to investigate.

I hate this stage too and ache for her parents.

I wonder if they are also searching Wissahickon Park, it's massive and feels extremely remote in some parts.

Her LLC which I found will be suspended soon for lack of filing the annual report (Due Sept).

She's young and seems to have an entrepreneurial spirit, I wonder if anyone was helping her launch a business venture? Catfished but not in the normal sense, if you get my drift?

Catfished how? Financially? Scammed?

While of course it could be a coincidence, I am very interested in the person or people who she said had been harassing her by phone leading up to her disappearance. Getting harassing calls and then she goes missing? I feel like they may be linked.

Could the harasser(s) have contacted her again while at work and somehow enticed her to come out and meet them at their car? Maybe promising that if she just went to talk to them, they would stop bugging her? And then once she was in their car, they took off with her. Perhaps there is a street cam somewhere near this arboretum and they think they saw her in a vehicle going that way?

All MOO

Doesn't sound like LE found anything - but I'm not seeing updates. Are they still searching?

Police scoured the grounds of Awbury Arboretum, which is about three miles from where Kada Scott was seen last Saturday night.

Officials blocked off several intersections around the area, including a large wooded area down the street. The park is 55 acres, but police say they're focused on the area off of East Johnson Street.

"To this point, nothing has been found that's related to the investigation. We found some clothing items, which we don't know if they're related to this or not, but they were taken to look into," said Frank Vanore, deputy commissioner for Philadelphia police, said in a press conference update on Friday."

Police said that they had leads that caused them to specifically search the north side of the Arboretum. I don't think they're just searching large green spaces at random. Of course it might come to that at some point if their leads don't pan out.
Thanks for mentioning Wissahickon Park.

This is not looking good. I wonder if this harassment extended to stalking? Could someone have been watching long enough to realise her new place of employment didn't have cameras? Perhaps they found a way to lure her outside, she went outside as part of her duties (emptying rubbish bins?), or went back to her car to get something, leaving an opportunity to take her against her will, or to lure her into a car. Perhaps this harassment actually came from somebody she knew without realising it, so willingly got into a car of an acquaintance? Perhaps she left the premises willingly during a meal break but things went awry with whatever she was doing during that time. I wonder if she usually took her break in a staff room, her car, or maybe there was a nearby place open 24/7 that she would go to for food or drink? I'm not American and unsure about your work rules. How long would she typically get for her main break during a shift like this?

EDIT: I just read the latest news report and it appears she left early into her shift so likely not related to a meal break.

I'm not sure how accurate the above article is, or if information has changed and things have been cleaned up, but it states the last person to see her was her mother, when she left for work. This doesn't gel with earlier reports that colleagues saw her at work. It also states:

"Police said Scott was last seen leaving work in her black scrubs shortly after she arrived."

Again, this could be wrong or it could be new information, as no time was put on her leaving in earlier reports. It also says that she was seen leaving, so I'd assume that's an eye witness as there wasn't any CCTV, or perhaps cameras from nearby buildings caught her leaving. I'd bet she wasn't alone, but police are keeping that part close to their chests.

I'd love her to be found alive and well, but my gut doesn't feel good about this case.

I wonder if some one threw her phone in one of the ponds

I'm now wondering in what time frame Kada was receiving those harassing calls.
Did they begin before or after she began working at this facility 2 weeks ago?
Do we know?
