I’m leaning strongly toward a recent intimate partner, probably a male, having been the person responsible for disappearing her. Someone who knows her schedule, could lure her outside during her work hours, and could quickly subdue her. Since she apparently did not share the name of the telephone harasser, it seems reasonable to conclude that either she didn’t know the person, or she knew, but she didn’t want to share that information with family or friends. To me, that speaks to it being a recently former partner. Perhaps someone she broke up with and/or is less available to in light of her recently acquired night shift?
It seems unlikely to me that any person responsible for her disappearance would come from within her work acquaintances because it would be exceptionally risky to pull it off. Even with a skeleton crew, surely other potential witnesses were around, such as cleaners or residents. Furthermore, such a person would have had to disable her phone, remove her and her belongings, and do so without anyone noticing they are both missing.
Likewise, a stranger abduction seems highly improbable…it’s a low crime area. Who lingers around an assisted living area hoping to find someone to mug or abduct? Her car was still there, so such a hypothetical person would likely have to have had their own vehicle nearby for transport.
And while we don’t know a lot about her, just speaking pragmatically, why bother even going to work if you plan on disappearing yourself? Why leave your car behind? What would be the point of all of the mystery? She’s an adult and can do as she pleases.
Unfortunately, I think we’ll find with time that this case will have the same outcome that we are so sadly familiar with. All moo.
