I noticed that yesterday, too.

CH makes the old "News of the World" look like "Scientific American." She infuriates me with her muckraking in every publicized crime.

I miss Bat Boy

My admittedly limited understanding is that this is correct AND I also believe that she can pay google to be one of the top search results returned when various search words are used.

Correct

Hi, Reedus; actually, she pops up on Google News because she is following the case much, much more frequently than other media.

I think that there are preferred Google listings (not on Google News), but they come up as slightly separate from regular listings. Clever marketers know how to key in numerous algorithms to enhance your visibility:

Who is Kortne's landlord?
Anyone know?

As I take in this new information from the last couple days, I'm trying to eliminate all prior opinions I had formed with the limited information that we had in the beginning of this case. I'm trying to start fresh and this is what I've come up with...

I am at 80% with the neighbor, 15% the overnight guest and 5% other. Why? This is why...

I'm not going to try to make up a motive for the overnight guest. With the information that we have, the only person who would have a motive is the neighbor. KS was getting extremely physical with the neighbor and by CP's account, KS's anger with the neighbor did not diminish. She was arguing/fighting downtown with people, then comes back home and fights with the neighbor. It sounds like she was on a mission to fight. There is no motive for the guest that anyone knows of. People can speculate a sexual motive but you're really just pulling things out of thin air. Getting into a car accident which causes serious injury to someone else doesn't exactly go hand in hand with getting violent with someone for not having sex with them.

People can also speculate on drugs all they want, but are there drug charges on either the guest or his friend? What about KS? KS's boyfriend was taken to prison, his history with the law does not pertain to this.

Here are some facts that we know:

Kortne got into a physical altercation with the neighbor at 3:00 am. She kicked him and even swung at him.

The guest tried to get in between KS and the neighbor. It's reported that the guest also made hostile remarks towards the downstairs neighbors. One could assume that the guest and KS were BOTH upset at the same people for the same reasons.

23 minutes afte police left, a 2nd call was made. "According to Kortne’s father and neighbors, Saksek called police after Kortne stomped on her apartment floor in anger."

It sounds like it's all but certain that KS was stomping in anger. It wasn't the guest just making that up as an excuse for the noise.

Shortly thereafter, the guest claims that he went to sleep. At this point in the case, I wouldn't see why he wouldn't go to sleep. But it sounds like KS just wasn't letting anything go that night. She fought with the neighbor(s) because she thought that they were responsible for her boyfriend getting into trouble earlier in the day. After fighting/venting her anger and the police being called, she still didn't let it go because she was stomping in anger towards the neighbor. It sounds like she just didn't want it to end.

IMO, KS waits for the guest to fall asleep so she can handle this issue on her own without him stepping in between it like he did last time. The neighbor is obviously fed up with the way she's been acting. She's kicked, swung, stomped already and the cops were there TWICE. With a simple assault charge already under one's belt, there's probably not much more that a person with a record like that could take. ESPECIALLY when someone continues to come after you physically.

There's a history of violence between the neighbor and KS. There's a history of violence on the neighbor's record.

I just don't see how the overnight guest goes from being on KS's side, making hostile remarks at the neighbor(s) and stepping in between KS and the neighbor to all of a sudden getting violent with the person he was on the same side with.

Keep it simple...look at the facts. There was physical violence hours before KS disappeared. I think we need to keep our heads focused on that. I haven't looked at a ton of cases but let me ask someone this. How many cases of missing persons are there where there is physical violence with someone within a few hours of when the missing were known to have disappeared, but that altercation had nothing to do with their disappearance??

If they had his dna from something else then they wouldnt have to take it again. JMO

very true, what i was getting at is that the speaker said that he offered...not that they asked. stating it in that way puts cp in a better light...

  • #327
Unlikely. Lawyers are extremely expensive and CP has NO money whatsoever.

I have to say some law firm would jump at the chance esp if this becomes a big deal!

But besides the fact if he has a lawyer or not tking a poly and giving dna sounds to me like he didnt do anything to her!

I was particularly speaking of that night/early morning. I have a recollection of it being discussed that Kortne didn't get along with the neighbor in the past as well and I thought that had been mentioned in MSM. I will see if I can find the link when I get some time to go back but even if it was reported in MSM I would suspect that it's still hearsay unless the person reporting it actually witnessed any prior arguments.

Regarding the knocking, I have seen numerous MSM references that they did, in fact knock. What I don't remember seeing is a MSM report that they did not knock.

I recall Scott Stouffer saying that "there was no love lost" between Kortne and the neighbor, which in that context at the time meant the downstairs neighbor(s). (This was on the second JVM show; should be in the transcript).

MSM hasn't, to my knowledge, reported that the police did not knock, however, many of the articles make reference to being unable to "connect" with Kortne or her neighbor during the second call. TS may have called 911 to report the second disturbance, could have identified himself but said, "I am going to bed now, no need to bother me again." All of this is MOO.

I called 911 years ago to report loud noises upstairs, and the operator did not send the police to my unit, but rather only asked for my name and telephone number.

I have wondered if that one photo is a mug shot...at least it looks like one, the one where she is not smiling, looking straight ahead.

The early statement from Kortne's mom or dad about having a male friend with her that evening to feel protected always struck me as a bit odd. The whole "owing" money to someone certainly sheds some light on that statement and gives it some sense.

I also noted that the language of the text from CP to Kortne changed a bit, at least in how it is reported. I'm not sure it means a single thing either way, but for whatever reason "What HAPPENED to you?" always struck me as off.

Cannot remember, did we (or anybody besides CP) ever see the actual text?

Hi, Cassell, and thanks. It's possible that the disorderly conduct/furnish alcohol to minors charge in April stemmed from a noise complaint call from the apartment. Some escalating tensions...

These things do spiral out of control. From several years ago, I remember my sister telling me that my rowdy niece's feud with (or more specifically towards) a downstairs neighbor was getting out of hand and that she was retaliating to police calls by stomping and abusive behavior on the steps. My sister actually worried about where it would lead. Things did escalate, but fortunately, the neighbor was much more rational than my niece, who was evicted from the apartment after several police calls and landlord visits.

KS’s 21st birthday was April 24th, 2012 so it must have been quite a party.

fact is we really only know TS made one phone call to police. everything else is conjecture at this point. we know that KS apparently initiated a physical altercation with him early that morning. what you may be recollecting are neighbor reports that TS and her BF keep late hours and apparently the downstairs neighbor has had issues with her in the past. this was from an anonymous neighbor in a recent pennlive article.

Yes you do hear a lot about the alleged knocking on his door in this forum. But all of those posts reference one item: the family spokesperson saying the police told him they did this. again, the police have not officially confirmed whether they knocked on his door or not. they are silent on the matter. there is a person who claims to know TS well who posts here that says there was no knock.

How long has KS lived in that apt?
And how long has she had problems with these neighbors?

thought the same thing. it also looks like she is purposely lifting her chin? perhaps in a show of defiance?

Who is the landlord and was he called often by these neighbors?

What could be the reason there are no searches?
