Keep rattling cages. I just had a response from one local media figure who got defensive to my concern that the coverage has fallen silent. Keep up the pressure and hold the watchers accountable!

UPDATE: He is no longer defensive and now seems genuinely interested in digging deeper. Keep your fingers crossed!

Being local myself, im saddened at the lack of news, the dwindling coverage. I plan on writing to the Hummelstown Sun to encourage them to keep her in the news. Its Lebanon Daily that Im real disappointed in as well as apennLive. But if the cops are keeping so damb quiet about it, I guess theres nothing to write about. Scary though - if the police have absolutely no clue what happened and we all think they are sitting on something important : (

Someone made a post recently about the national media losing interest in this case because Kortne wasn't exactly the All-American sweetheart they want to focus on. I think it's an interesting point, and I gotta say before I read it I was wondering if something similar could be true for the local LE not being overly eager to do whatever it takes to find Kortne. Hopefully I am totally wrong, but as many have said, nothing is impossible.

Could the local PD have a bad taste in their mouth for Kortne since she seemed to be getting a negative reputation with LE. Possibly they feel terrible about the whole situation, but also have the attitude like "no way are we going to use up all our resources for someone like this when we have 'law abiding citizens' to protect and serve. This girl wasn't an angel, blah blah blah."

I am not implying that they would view Kortne the same as a convicted felon, but they may have been getting annoyed with the trouble that seemed to follow her.

Again, I hope something like this doesn't exist, but it was just something I wanted to throw out there.

LE should not be ruled out. LE is not above the rest of us. Most are good but there are still some bad. For example, one of the underage kids charged that night (the first call to LE) was the son of the ex chief from a neighboring town. The reason he is ex chief is (copied from news release and changed the names to just initials) "D replaces former Annville Chief MB, who was suspended last year after he was charged with two counts of tampering with public records or information. MB is accused of generating fictitious information about overtime hours purportedly worked by Annville police officers and traffic citations written by township officers to support two state-funded traffic safety programs".

Just one example of many LE problems. I personally do not think LE involved with KS disappearance but I have not ruled it out.

Also TS had rings stolen (i assume from his residence but not certain) and the person charged with "receiving stolen goods" shares the same name and age as a friend of KS on her facebook page. If it is the same person, he may of been one of the underage visitors from earlier in the night. That would make me mad. He was charged with receiving stolen goods, not theft. Not sure who stole the rings (they were wedding rings and were sold and melted down)

My daughter who is 22 has been at some get togethers that Kortne was at also. There is no privvied gossip ever taking place amongst the kids her age. So even they arent hearing anything from each other. Im thinking Kortne had a fight brewing in her from the booze and maybe was loud and beckoning trouble from all the neighbors upon arrival.

Not sure how they get thru the beginning of the day to the end. As Wendy said she does, i also feel myself looking at vast fields and woods just wondering if thats the place she could be.

I think they need some local pressure...I think whatever happened is local, by locals and that she is not that far away. Not sure HLN would be of much help; they really do not have as huge an audience as some believe.

I think I would be writing letters to the editor, keeping after the police, maybe a state representative, trying to drum up some activity and info from LE.

I think that makes a lot of sense. I would also like to add that people that are drinking and arriving somewhere at 3 in the morning are not in general a quiet group. They have no sense of their surroundings or how loud they are being, they can't help it, they are just clueless. I am thinking it's just as likely that Kortne and her entourage made a commotion when they arrived back at the apartment before going inside. Noises echo at night and the neighbors were probably done with the BS.
Also, why on earth would they want to be going to the media now? They called police on this person. When I call the police on someone it's generally because in my opinion the person is trouble and I want it stopped, whatever it is. All the info coming out now proves the neighbors had reason to be picking up the telephone and yet people are still wanting to drag them over the coals for something without ANY proof or facts implicating them. I don't think KS was a bad person but I would not have put up with drunk minors invading my peace either.

I really admire your perspective. You helped me shift gears and see how my point of view about the neighbors could be exaggerated by my own experiences and I really liked being able to look at their possible actions/interactions that night from your logic. Thank you!

Doubtful that the person who received the stolen rings could have been one of the underage party-goers on July 28.

Sadly, there are so many missing/murder cases that the ones that used to be breaking news suddenly drop to second, third....etc because other cases take the spot.

That is a huge problem with keeping these cases "alive". There are just so many.

DO they think she was harmed by anyone she was with the night prior to her disappearance or do they think it was someone else?
