Its hard for the community to feel outrage if her parents arent showing outrage....since they
are keeping as quiet as LE then the community thinks theres a good reason for the quietness. If the parents arent forward enough to stir the pot and keep it stirred, then they need a different lawyer one who will do it for them. The parents had two good opportunities on Jvm show and i painfully watched them blow it both times. She was pulling teeth trying to get info from them, all i can imagine is LE told them to keep mum. This is a complicated, interesting story....had they invoked JVM to grab a stea
dfast interest, shed be doing a lot of the work in getting LE to answer up and shed be following the progress. Im not dissing the parents because i never want to go thru their experience....but i think JVM or Nancy may still grab the story IF and only IF the parents are willing to tell what they know
, what they have been told, and what they suspect. Someone needs to put the 4 men with her that nite in front of the media, heck we dont even know who the other two are! The media needs to expose all the people she fought with that nite. They need to bring her friends forward, her boyfriend too. The neighbors need coals lit under them to TALK?
I fear if they dont stir it up now that this story is history and its just not fair to Kortne.

Excellent post! I thought the parents came across as milquetoast during both JVM appearances. Unless one is totally honest, it's hard for others to pull teeth trying to get details. I am incredulous over the players' reactions in this case. Silence everywhere; bf quiet; parents resigned; and the last-to-spend-time with Kortne are continuing their partying ways. Searches being done? Nope. And shouldn't the family friend-attorney be kicking over evidence and speaking up? This case has more clues and POIs than most, yet nothing has come out of any substance. Talk about getting away with murder in plain sight.

This is the sorriest case I have ever read.

For those thinling LE is probably sitting on something....well, mom wendy stouffers post today was heartbreaking. She apologized for not being able to find her and that she feels like a failure as a mother. Doesnt sound like there is a lead at all, and WHY does she think SHE is responsible for the searching? Speaks volumes. Moo

Sad to say, but families are really the only resource the missing person has in so many cases. They need to reach out for help from one of the many search organizations, if only to obtain advice on dealing with LE and also to possibly arrange searches. Yes, LE should be doing this but if they are not, it ends up being the family...or no one.

Man, that truly is heartbreaking.

A couple of days ago my husband and I drove by Kortne's house again....haunting to know that one minute she was there living her life and the next she's gone maybe to never return there. One of my thoughts has been that if she suspected her neighbor called LE again that nite that she would have sensed a possible arrest for disturbing the peace. If she wanted to avoid that and left the house on foot, where she'd have walked in most directions she'd be around houses and neighborhoods. We drove North on Lingle Ave, a few houses away, the one direction where she would have walked into more vast open areas. Within a short distance is a quarry, railroad tracks, woods (remember the woods around this area are relatively small patches, but lots and lots of them), and lots and lots of cornfields. If someone snatched her at her house and killed her on the spot and put her in a cornfield, she may not be found until the crops are harvested. But it makes me wonder why, if abducted, she'd be killed on the spot, unless it was out of anger...which points to who?

Anger, control, eliminate witnesses, confuse LE...Hard to speculate.

My heart goes out to Kortne's poor mother.

I wish I lived in the area- I'd help her search and put up her missing fliers.

Locals- is Palmyra and the area covered with Kortne's posters? Her face should be all over that town.

Bottom line is that we the public cannot help the Stouffers or LE if they don't want the help. At this point, both parties have demonstrated a lack of willingness to share complete information. As long as that continues, they are on their own. Not a good place to be in my opinion.

This is what I did yesterday as well. No reply yet...

By no means to I know anything and am far from any kind of legal expert but I just had a random thought..

Is there any chance that the Stouffer family attorney has the family tight lipped due to maybe some type of investigation or interest in the Palmyra police department?

I mean, that's the only way I could really understand the silence.

Ok, I'm running away now :)

I saw Kortne's poster up in the airlock in the Penn State Hershey family practice/student health center this afternoon. I wish I could do something to help and I wish I didn't find myself blocking her from my conscious mind because it scares me to think about this happening right here in my backyard, ESP with the tight-lipped LE and all.

You mean civil lawsuit against the PD? If so, it's certainly a thought, a sick thought, but a thought nonetheless. I mean who would compromise finding their daughter for the sake of a few bucks?

Unless it is more about getting reports and info, and not money, assuming there was such a suit.

I wouldn't expect Kortne's mom to necessarily respond to anyone, much less people she doesn't know, as nice as a response would be. She's going through the unimaginable and probably gets questions from everyone everywhere she goes. I only hope she is hearing the suggestions made, contemplating them and taking whatever action is deemed best to bring Kortne home.

True enough. Hadn't thought about that. I'm not sure what kind of laws Pennsylvania has that might allow for such a lawsuit beyond any FOI laws. Think I'll take a look and see what might be there.

I sent a request there a few weeks ago, just asking how one would go about obtaining logs, and never got a reply.

I think they have a form on that link. Maybe sending in an actual request instead of asking how to send a request? If I'm understanding correctly. I think if they receive an actual request, by law, they have to answer and I think I saw somewhere it's within 5 days unless there is some good reason to extend the time.

https://www.dced.state.pa.us/public/oor/pa_righttoknowlaw.pdf

(18) (i) Records or parts of records, except time response logs, pertaining to audio recordings, telephone or
radio transmissions received by emergency dispatch personnel, including 911 recordings.
(ii) This paragraph shall not apply to a 911 recording, or a transcript of a 911 recording, if the agency or
a court determines that the public interest in disclosure outweighs the interest in nondisclosure.

That is one of the many exemptions from records that are otherwise available. In other words, LE may (not must, but may) deny access to them in PA. I do note the second sub-paragraph on this section which allows for the Court to determine if they should be released.

I'd like to think that the media would have obtained whatever reports were available by now, so maybe nothing is available. Hope I am not giving the media too much credit.
