Just keep hoping that perhaps LE is so quiet is because they already know the "specifics" and are awaiting DNA results ... hey .. I can hope can't I?

For me this case is bringing the Kelli B. case to mind.
It really does feel like LE has nothing.
Another vanished into thin air; we could start a list.
How sad!
There's just so many missing.
Maybe we now have smarter perps covering up their tracks.
I just can't bring myself to really believe these women are just

As of tonight, 10/2/2012, the crime scene tape remains up at Kortne's apartment. I don't even know what to say anymore.

I take that as a sign it is still a very active investigation. It seems like LE is either awaiting test results, or still questioning witnesses, and anticipate returning based on the findings. I don't know, but they must have a good reason because no property owner would stand it otherwise. He's losing revenue on the apartment, and crime scene tape doesn't exactly scream "come live here". IMO

You'd think so, but it is still very bizarre. I have seen homes where terrible murders were committed released within a few short weeks, or less.

The landlord may not have taken the tape down yet, or the neighbors may want it up as a safeguard because they claimed harassment...there are probably still a lot of looky loos, im one of them occasionally, but i dont yell obscenities at them. Pdad, is the tape falling down or does it look freshly secured? Maybe the family is paying the rent for some reason.

I almost feel like it is none of our business, the way this is being handled. No one, not even her family, is reaching out asking the public for help in any way, other than the odd vigil or peace moment. I am baffled, and basically, defeated.

Man, I hope you're right bessie. There does have to be a reason, even if that reason is "Ooops! We forgot." but I have a hard time or don't want to believe that's the case.

To my eyes it looks like it's coming loose but I could be wrong. I can't tell if the padlock and evidence seal are still on the door. I sincerely hope that all the silence means something is brewing that will bring some resolution to this mystery.

Wendy Stouffer made a heartfelt plea on fb today asking for help to find Kortne yet i joticed she has now blocked comments from being allowed by anyone except her friends. I never saw anyone ask prying questions or post anything nasty. However last week i did see two comments from two different people who politely asked if there was anything new in the investigation. I wonder if those 2 inquiries caused her to reject anyone posting who she doesnt know. I suppose if anyone had something to go on and wanted to share with her that maybe she could be private messaged? This woman sounds like shes at her wits end.

That's true, but sometimes those cases are more cut and dried. LE knows a murder occurred and have a good idea how the victim was murdered, so they know what evidence they need. This case is more complex because there's an array of possible suspects, but no obvious crime.

I do know that property owners are usually quite anxious to have the premises released. So if it is a case of "oops, we forgot", and IF the padlock and seal were removed but not the tape, I would think the property manager would have removed the tape him/herself. On the other hand, if the rent was paid up, or her parents are paying the rent, the lease is still active because at this point Kortne is only missing. If that's the situation, I suppose it's possible the tape has been left up to ward off vandals.

I don't read the silence as an indication LE is not actively working the case, and I pray they find an answer soon.

I'm hoping it's similar to the Sierra Lamar case, where LE did not share everything with the public, but was working active leads the whole time and even had surveillence on their suspect before going public. I remember being very impressed with LE on Sierra's case. Hope it's the same here

Yes, Parker. It's because of Kelli Bordeaux that I have only allowed myself to follow this case on the periphery...reading along and not posting. The circumstances are quite different but the lack of leads and LE info are quite similar, and too familiar. It hurts my heart. I have been trying to not get too emotionally involved here, and I feel badly for that. But, I could not let your post go by without saying...I know exactly what you mean!

I haven't forgotten Kortne. I think about her every day. I just don't understand why le isn't searching.It frustrates me so.
