PA - Philadelphia shootout, multiple officers shot, 14 August 2019 *Arrest*

I'm thinking there must be so many people unable to get to their homes. This happened right during the end of the work day. Families are likely separated, kids on their own, etc. Very upsetting to think about people scared, trying to find each other, etc.

Is there a place where LE is telling people to congregate or is there simply an order to stay away? IDK.

With all the resources that are in place, hopefully this is over before then.

I bet if this guy pokes his head out to shoot, he’s done.

I don't like the fact that there could be police trapped in the building. That could complicate things.

They are currently evacuating the little ones from (ages from 6 weeks -10 yos)
Both anchors broken up watching these poor little ones safely being evacuated by officers.
We're all broken up about that. The little ones are scared, the teachers, the parents - everyone watching.

Yeah, and more often than not, atleast anecdotally, that doesn’t have a good ending.

If they are wounded, time is of the essence.

I’ve followed a couple situations like this where a raid is conducted, officers are shot at and forced to withdraw, and it ends up with fatalities.

Little ones are subjected to so much violence these days. Totally sad.
And the parents. I don't know if I could leave my little one again if this happened to our family. I wouldn't want to let go or be out of arm's length from my babies. :( :( :(

Would they attempt to shoot tear gas in there to drive him out? Or is the game plan to wait him out?

Oops, missed this while I was on the phone - about 40 min ago. Yikes!

I hear ya - same here. I've been on others after the incident. But not live and also this one right across the river from my home is unsettling.

I don't know what their protocal is, but I would err on the side of rushing to the place, and using something to disable the active shooter, because the of the trapped police officers. If they were not part of the equation, I would wait him out.

Just saw the weather radar...Bad thunderstorm coming into the area, rather rapidly.
