Gay or not I believe that religion can and should be incorporated into everything, every subject and every choice that we make. Maybe the world would be a better place if it was. We certainly would not have split families and children bouncing back and forth between parents, more stability in the home and a greater tolerance and respect for their neighbors. Less drug addiction, alcoholism, abuse etc. if we just lived the way that God wanted us to the world would be loving.
Even Christians get divorced, abuse their children and have affairs. Not to mention drink every day but Sunday, tell filthy jokes, have terrible hygiene etc. Having faith doesn't make you a good person. You have to walk the walk along with talking the talk. I don't know many who do on an every day basis.

I have issues with pushing Christianty on others. Why would your brand be better than what I've got? Who gets to choose? Isn't that the basic freedom we all want...to choose our own? And once again, why do Christians get to choose what we believe? And why should I subject my children to what you believe simply because you think it's best?

I know I sound angry, I'm not really. Just questions that come to mind every time I hear these statements. Same ones that would come to your mind if I said everyone should be a Jew I think. The why's and who's are not so black and white and prolly wouldn't solve a dern thing. I also never assume that anyone who goes to church is a good/bad person. I tend to judge people on how they treat me, my children, the girl at the supermarket, the person who serves them out in public and not by what comes out of their mouths.

My daughter is a good girl. If I hadn't left my abusive husband, she might not have had a chance to become a good girl. You can have a strong foundation without a father.
You sure can! My mama is living proof of that. My daddy wasn't such a good daddy. My mama on the other hand was a good daddy and mama! I have no idea what would have happened to us if Mama hadn't have been there.

The facts say religion doesn't stop any of those from happening! You left out adultery, murder, and molestation (not to mention every other crime against humanity)...which have also taken place under the guise of religion.

I thank my lucky stars that religion isn't incorporated into everything, every subject, and every choice we make because it would mean there was no more free will! Taking us back to religion because last time I checked...free will was the basis of most religions. <shaking my head>

You have got to be joking!

Maybe the world would be a better place without religion?
Have you any idea how many people have died in the name of God?

Think terrorist, think religion.

You know what? You just hit the nail on the head and you didn't even realize it. why should I subject my children to gay relationships simply because you think it's best?

I am sorry you feel so jaded but true religion and not extremists or fake christians teach that homosexual or not we are to love each other- we don't have to agree on choices but we do have to love each other regardless of what those choices are. Those who do not are not truly christians.
A good explanation! I'd agree with that statement. :)

In my experience, religious faith is often a source not only of comfort, but of great good on the part of believers.

But that is not to say that a religion-based society is ultimately a healthy one. In fact, one can argue that many religions are entirely incompatible with democratic functions.

Again, it's not the gay relationship I'm saying you need to teach. I'm not caring if your kid ever knows or learns about anything. My stance is GOVERNMENT stepping in and pushing any kind of anything on parents using schools as their medium.

The quote from above you are using as a basis for your argument is in direct relation to the things said about religion. It was said that religion should be in everything and I'm saying uh...no, it shouldn't.

The school thing, the gay subject are seperate. I was talking directly to those and not to the school thing. I don't have a dog in that race as I don't send my kids to public schools. And after these types of conversations I'm soooo glad they've never been subjected to that environment.

Um, ladies, please. Most of our accoutrement are far smaller than the "girls" Jeana and the rest of you take on your motorcycle rides. And they don't get in the way of our carrying things.
