I wonder if revenue was down for the Carpenters. Hope is a grown woman, it appears that she profited well from their ministry. IMO, she was not a shrinking violet. Some American Christians love, love a repentant sinner. There is $$ in sinning and redemption/forgiveness. Books, Christian talk shows, appearances at churches.
My guess, Hope will show up soon, Ron will forgive her (won't go through with the divorce) and new books will be written and it gives them more material for their preaching/seminars. IMO, the whole story is a set up.
Kind of reminds me of the Gavin MacLeod (actor on The Love Boat) story with his wife. It was a long time ago but I remember thinking he was afor treating his wife so poorly. He even took her name off their credit cards and bank account.
Gavin MacLeod - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"During his time as the Captain on The Love Boat MacLeod "very selfishly" (his words) divorced his wife Patti. She then spent the next three years seeking help from psychiatrists on both the west and the east coasts. Then one day, his wife received a telephone call from Patti Palmer, first wife of Jerry Lewis, inviting her to a Christian prayer group which contained a number of famous actresses. Gavin said, "From that day, I started to think about her. Something told me to call Patti. I called Patti. I went back to see her the following Monday and things haven't been the same since." MacLeod asked her what had happened. She then explained everything to him including that she had given her life to Christ.[5]
Following his conversion and remarriage, he and his wife wrote about struggles with divorce and alcoholism in Back On Course: The Remarkable Story of a Divorce That Ended in Remarriage. The MacLeods have been hosts on the Trinity Broadcasting Network for 14 years, primarily hosting a show about marriage called Back on Course
And what's so sad is, the fact that these members work 40 hours a week just to feed their families. I love my family at *Church of Christ. We are able to see the books and we know where every penny goes. We even have meetings to discuss big expenditures if needed.
I sure hope you're right....
I'm sure it does and it's not just for the Pastors. All church employees are usually bound by a moral code of conduct due to the fact they are a representation of the church.
Our church believes if a leader can't lead his home in a way that's pleasing to God, that leader is not fit to serve as a leader in the church.
^^ I think this is why Ron is acting 'shocked' and pretending to not have knowledge of Hopes alleged other life.

Just in case Hope is reading here I just want to say, You are more than the sum of all your past mistakes.
According to Ron's personal fb - someone has informed him his account has been hacked - someone is sending messages pretending to be him.
:scared:
How do they know it's not Ron?
[sorry if someone already posted this, i'm partially occupied atm so not entirely up to date on the thread]
eta: the post did actually get a response from ARC tho!
Prosperity Ministries. Like I said, I unfortunately have some deep experience in this.
the mega church that my father was part of so many years ago in TX had a very unique way of getting money from the people. i wonder if anyone from TX reading this will figure out the church (it is no longer in existence though).
the story goes that the sr pastor started the church very small and some old man came to the pastor and handed him an old cowboy boot and inside was all the money he had and that God told him to donate the money to this pastor for his ministry.
every sunday the pastor would put that boot on the foot of the stage and the tithing/offering part of the service would start. the music would be drawing on everyone's emotions, the story about the boot would be told and it became customary for kids to wander down the isles to put $$ in the boot. i watched that church grow from nothing to a massive auditorium with all the glitz and glamour one could have at that time. the marketing was amazing and its scary how people can fall so easily for these glitzy shows. to this day, i don't even know if that "boot story" was real but it was VERY GOOD gimmick to bring in $$.
all of the pastors wives would literally sit on stage with them. i always found this very odd, but that is what was done. my parents would be sitting up there in their throwns (lol) and us kids would be down in front of the stage in an area sectioned off for "pastor's family" only. right there center front like we were royalty. @@
i find these mega churchs disgusting and the way they hold their services and behave makes me sick. i do not believe for one minute this is what Jesus had in mind nor do I believe that God condones this stuff.
I could be wrong as I admit im bitter.
this is the mega church we were part of Larry Lea - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia my parents are still besties with him.
don't even get me started on Rick Warren. I feel his son committed suicide out of the horrible pressure of the church that he was in sin for being gay.......not for mental issues. I will never have a nice thing to say about that fraud.
I live in TX and have not heard of Larry Lea. I will read the Wiki article. I am still trying to wrap my mind around Lester Roloff and his "homes". IMO, TX does not have a very good reputation of keeping children safe...not enough regulation IMO. The Texas juvenile prisions are another gripe of mine. Kick backs to judges..People here that live in TX probably know what I am talking about. :moo:
Maybe we could stick more to the topic of this thread? Where's Hope Carpenter?

um sorry. I thought that the whole mega church world was connected to what is going on with hope. I and others shared some of our experiences so that we could shed some light on the world that hope lives in because some of us believe it IS relevant.
we don't know where she is. we are speculating based on that world she lives in.
