Wow, things are so different in Peru, that is for sure. Wonder what transpired in that meeting? what did Mr. Flores say to Joran? what did Joran say, if anything? This meeting intrigues me - God Bless Mr. Flores. I cannot imagine meeting face-to-face with the person who murdered my daughter. What a terrible moment in his life. MOO

Don't forget he met and was confronted by Natalee's parents....and the carp they had to face and endure. Once again, karma coming around. Wonder if his mother brought plenty of change of underwear. I don't think he'll be thinking or worrying too much tonight about what he's to have for dinner. Don't think he'll be too hungry.

yes he does and he and his father look like cats who just swallowed the canary

and this is not long after he has killed Natalie and his father has helped him hide it

its the face of evil

Are you looking at the pic with the two girls, one on each side of him, kissing his cheeks? (I don't know if what I linked continues to link to the same picture.)

HLN
JeanC Live:

- to her, VDS looked pensive, thoughtful, maybe a little bit scared
- re the casino videos - she greets him, shakes hands, evidence for prosecutors - that the two of them knew each other at the casino; obviously get along; obviously leave together
- the quality of the video is amazing
- re the time frame: trial? - anyone's guess; spoke to his atty on the phone - he will attack on all fronts>will possibly extend this case
- but now we are waiting for formal charges

Yes, I can see why women follow him, he flashes money he's tall, has a nice smile, the silent but deadly type. (not my type) but to some he's probably good looking.

he looks very much like my husband so this is beyond strange and fascinating for me

This is from the article about the attorney:

Daughter of businessman Ricardo Flores escorted to his room to confessed murderer because he was going to lend money, according to European lawyer. Stephany said he had lost money in the casino. Seek to annul murder confession from a clean sheet new. Maximum Highness, new lawyer Joran van der Sloot, said it would seek to invalidate the statement he gave the citizens Netherlands to the police, where he confessed to killing Stephany Flores. 'We intend to begin the case from scratch. We will challenge any and seek a new statement that the prosecutor presented a translator and me as a lawyer, 'said HRH. HH said they will ask Joran van der Sloot that is terminated by a homicide by emotion violent, which the maximum penalty is nine years.
NEW VERSION According to counsel, the Dutchman Stephany Flores mentioned that he lost money in the casino and that this led her to his hotel room because he was going to lend money. Highness said Stephany Van der attacked first Sloot, after he found his computer review

I agree. They know the whole world is watching this unfold.

the whole world watched the aftermath of his kiliing a young Peruvian girl. (after the whole world watched Aruba let him kill Natalie and go free) if i was Peruvian I would want the message sent LOUD AND CLEAR that we don't like killers killing young girls in our country.

but maybe thats just me. i'm sure there are plenty who really want to see signs of an enlightened, liberal society. I'm not one of them.

other than his da i don't think there are many of those in Peru.

Yes,

How can I express (without sounding cold) that I try to impress upon my son that he could loose my support if he ever crossed certain lines. I don't want any calls from jail or any arrest records, etc. I want him to fear that he could loose my support (even if it isn't true) so that maybe he'll think before he acts out in ways that could lead to big bad consequences for him. A little fear of mom and/or dad's wrath may shape a kid some, no?

Little OT, but I ran away when I was 15, hitchhiked. Was picked up in TX. The "bad" officer took my cigarettes away and called my parents. Parents said, please let her stay there for a few days. This was in the 60's, in July, no air conditioning or fans. Black eyed peas, hotdog, and piece of bread soaked in the juice for dinner. You betcha I changed my tune about doing anything to ever go back there again. LOL

I don't think a parent's love ever ends for their child. They say mothers bring their children their favorite dishes while on death row. Doesn't mean they approve or are protecting anyone. A parent's love should be unconditional - no one else is going to keep loving someone after all this crap.

I think Anita Van Der Sloot has been through quite alot - Joran/Natalee, losing her husband, raising 3 sons alone (well, 2 - one's an adult), Joran/Stephany, etc. She's had quite a bit of heartache. I feel very sorry for her.

Just my two cents. :twocents:
:snooty:Sorry, my love for my daughter IS conditional- the condition is: you murder someone, you lose my love!!!:twocents:

Joran is very big, even their biggest guard wasn't as big as Joran, plus he is stone crazy.

some of them may be actually afraid of him in prison instead of vice versa...isn't he 6'5" - 6'7" ?

i believe hes 6' 3"....they may be small but they are violent like he can only imagine. hope he is thinking about it right now.

I have a gentle giant for a brother and during high school days we noticed that it was the short guys who always thought it would be cool to start a fight with a big fella. Over the years, I have noticed it is the ''short'' guys who can be the meanest:dance:

bolded by me...I agree...Judgement should come swift for him...How many other countries...if he was not caught and apprehended...would he travel to..and murder...MORE young girls..It was working for him, quite well it seems..BUT NOW....He is DONE!!!!

Can't believe you posted that! I had the very same thought when I saw the picture. As for trial of the century - move over Casey Anthony, Joran has taken your place. Who could know...
OOOOOoooooh! Casey's gonna be Mad!

Just think he killed SF for looking at his computer. What will he do when they steal every thing he has. Which will be very little. There will not be all the fun things he had before. It will be clothes and that is about it. They have to fight to even get food at times. They were talking shanks, knives and even guns are very common in prison there. I do not think the smaller ones will be scared of him at all. First time he screams at them for stealing from him it will be all over for him.

Hmm.. he is wearing a shirt that says, "The person wearing this t-shirt is a ____" I cannot make out the word after that. Anyone care to fill in the blanks?

I hope I'm not too late fellow Websleuthers - don't fill in the blank; rule is no name calling.
