I'm not at all worried about him being charged. I just hope it's something that will sentence him to a long time in prison. :behindbar MOOThe deadline is 10am in the morning or he walks free.
Hopefully it's a good sign!I don't know why they have to wait till the very last second, but I guess they have their reasons.
She went with him because it appears that she trusted him - at least during the casino footage. Very comfortable being at the casino in general as well as with him at the table.
I get a different feeling about her during the hotel footage. If she wasn't drugged at that point, she may have begun to have some doubts, but didn't obey her instincts.
IMO, I didn't see that she gave him money. I did see she put money on the table and sat down to the man away from him and the money was to her right. When she finally moved over to sit next to Joran, I didn't see the money on the table anymore.
I forgot we are in the era of "speed dating".
I lived in Sweden for a year and people would change into their bathing suits right on the beach. Parents walked around with no clothes on, TV commercials showed complete nudity. It was the norm, but for me as an American this was shocking because of how we are raised regarding our bodies and how we perceive nudity on TV.
The way I understood it was the FBI could not arrest Joran in Aruba.
I also understood that since Joran admitted to the crime of murder (in the FBI sting) then Aruba could have held him for 180 days but they didn't.
Same same.
I never heard about the 180 days. Did this come out recently?
THANK YOU!!!:blowkiss:
I'm having a real hard time trying to understand the rational behind blaming someone else for what JVDS CHOSE to do.
IMO, after 5 years this monster was STILL trying to prey on this woman, who I believe has NEVER stopped mourning the loss of her beautiful daughter...and probably never will. In the same situation, I'm sure I would have done the same thing....even KNOWING he's a lying....I'd want to believe, just maybe, this time, he might be willing to give me some sort of closure...or peace of mind about my childs final moments of life on this earth, and maybe return what's left of my child to me.
IMO, that poor excuse for a human has ALWAYS spent his life trying to swindle something out of anyone he's ever met....his friends attest to his lying to get money from them because he "needs food", etc. He preys on human weakness...he thinks someone would HAVE to send money to a "starving" friend...or to find their loved one after such torment for all these years.
Does anyone REALLY know what someone is capable of in a situation such as this? There are so many different scenarios where he could/would have gotten money to fund his trip....would these other people bear the blame for this senseless murder??
Hypothetically speaking~
If he is allowed this charge and sentence. Would he be able to only serve from 1/3 to 1/2 of the sentence? Say: the minimum could be as little as 1 year to 2.5 years? Just wondering.
This is a possiblity of his ruse: He asks her back to his room to help him navigate South America, as he is a traveler. He needs help with language, locating areas to go, etc. per the laptop computer in his room.
It wouldn't surprise me if his private attorney is negotiating the best scenarios for him that are possible regarding all pending charges. He may very well finally tell where Natalee's remains are in exchange for dropping the extortion charge--but then I would expect that he would blame it all on daddy--the killing and disposal. Then possibly, in his mind, he would have a chance of walking away from everything he is facing in less than 5 years (if on good behavior).
I read JVDS is having steak when he wants it, and cigarettes if he wants it.
I understand where you are coming from. Don't get me wrong, I definitely understand wanting to get to the bottom of things but as my little ol Southern granny would say, "darlin, two wrongs...don't make a right".
I just think that they should have had a better game plan. I mean when they found out he lied about the location....why didn't they try to get the money back? Why didn't they place the money in a trust account until they were sure he wasn't lying? Now she's out of $25,000, they still don't have any answers and another young girl is dead. He's in jail for another murder in another country and they can't even bargain with him about Natalie b/c how could he benefit from telling anything about Natalie when that crime was not even committed in Peru?
