"When he left his room that morning," Guardia said, "Joran took Stephany's cash, jewelry, credit cards, ID, and her car, which he abandoned a few miles away."

This is confusing... The police report says there was a watch and ring on her body.

justice would be a long incarceration in peru's loveliest prison. unfortunately i truly doubt his cell mates will oblige. his days are numbered.

welcome to the gates of hell.

After watching the video of entering and garbage throwing, I must say I agree. Dear God how disturbing. An entire community wants to harm him. Dear God.

Kind of O/T, but does the garbage video mean that what I thought were snacks being sold yesterday was rotten fruit and veggies cut up? I just found that video greatly disturbing.

Disturbing is the perfect word.

ETA: As much as I want him to serve as long as the law allows...I can't revel in any torture he may have to endure.

Van der Sloot charged with first-degree murder

Lima Superior Court Judge Juan Buendia issued the order before dawn and the 22-year-old suspect was taken in an armored truck with 11 other prisoners to a holding cell in the basement of Lima's judicial palace.
Police manhandled Van der Sloot as they ushered him quickly out of the truck, a scarf around his neck. Two officers pushed his head down.
"Disgrace!" and "Murderer!" bystanders yelled. Some threw rotten vegetables at him.

Oh, I SO hope some diligent reporter caught this on video.

From the article:

Reached by the AP, Altez refused to discuss the case. He said Van der Sloot's schoolteacher mother, Anita, would be arriving early next week with the family's own "media adviser." His father died in February.

Media adviser? Really? :floorlaugh:

General Guardia and his crack team of homicide investigators are my new heros. They don't fool around. I'm lovin' how swiftly this has all come down. Our system could take a good lesson on how it's done, IMO.

The NE pic is slightly confusing: first, she's covered with the beadspread and I thought her pants were off and she was covered with only a white article of some sort (shirt?). Who covered her? Did Joran eat his breakfast with her lying there covered or uncovered? Also, her hair is down and messy in the supposed death photo and when they entered the room together, it was pulled back and secured. Is this evidence of a major struggle?

Also is it true, as stated in the article that was translated, that he faked getting locked out of his room?

Here you go, video of arrival is in this article, he has been transferred to Castro Castro:

Thank you for posting. Joran seemed to be the only one without his blanket on the head the rest of the inmates where covered pretty good. If Joran thought he could go and lie to the inmates well the crowd let it be known what he has done I don't think anything could prepare him for what he will be facing. Luck is not on Jorans side.

Hope it's not one of the Anthony's.

I think that is his way of being arrogant. He wants the crowd to see his face and acknowledge him. jmo

If they were smart they would do what they have to do to try and close Natalee's case. This has hurt their reputation greatly. But somehow I feel they would rather forget the whole entire business.

Sending some sort of investigators to Peru to question him would go a long way in the beginning of repairing their reputation, IMO. If they do get a true confession and return to Aruba and find Natalees body, it would be wonderful for the Holloway family but I don';t think "we" will ever forget the BS that occured in Aruba, and it remains one of the places I would like to visit but never would, just because of their corrupt behavior concerning Natalee. It does look like a beautiful place and idyllic place to visit, but I wouldn't want to put one penny into their tourism business. jmo

I give him a week in there...tops.

If he's being held in an isolated cell for his own protection, chances of him being killed would lessen, don't you think? Wonder if Stephanys family is hell bent on revenge, or justice?

abbie
They'll find him hanging in his cell and chalk it up to suicide.
