I agree. IMO he was looking around to see if anyone was going to come and then he could put on his act. He was going to, IMO, say OMG, my girlfriend is in there and is not answering the door, I forgot my key, I can't get in, help! Then when no one appeared, he decided to go get someone to let him in, but then he notices the camera and has to drop his brilliant plan. At that point, IMO he really is locked out so he has to risk getting someone to let him in. To me the doorway looks very narrow, so there's a chance the maid won't see inside the room very well.

It would really be hilarious if it weren't so sad, seeing him standing there trying to figure out whether or not to close the door and lock himself out of the room, weakly knocking at the door trying to decide how to spin it, etc. IMO this is the real JVDS that he tries to hide the rest of the time. He didn't know he was being filmed, IMO.

IMO I think he was checking to see if anyone was in the hall and had heard what occurred in the room then when he saw there was no one he was going to pull the door almost shut and knock until someone came along then act like she opened it and let him into the room or open it and say OMG what has happened with a witness there...still no one came along so he was going to get an employee to be the witness...except that darn camera messed him up. He has the hiccups throughout the whole thing...unbelievable!

All this makes me think Peru would be a great vacation spot... not so much with Aruba though....

Not sure what happened to my last post, so I'll try again.

I've seen the video, and if anything I believe it tends to exculpate Joran, at least as far as killing Stephany before he left the room with the coffee cups.

Getting the hotel employee to open the door is a gigantic risk to take. The room was tiny- she opened the door all the way. I think she would have noticed a body on the floor. I admit I don't know what he was doing in the hall, but while it looked kind of strange, I don't think it looked like the actions of someone who'd just committed murder. If he did indeed already kill her, then I don't think it made any sense to get the hotel worker to open the door for him.

Why, by the way, had we never heard about someone having to open the door to his room that morning? I would think the employee would have come forward after that room became notorious. But, I realize those who think Joran is guilty will interpret this video as providing support for their belief, much as the annoying naysayers like myself will interpret it as supporting the view that Joran is innocent.

I've got no problem with anybody legitimately thinking Joran is innocent but at least admit that it is more than likely that this murder was pulled off exactly as it has been reported.

The below questions that were posed are way too easy to answer, you got to have more than that.

The term what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas comes to mind. I bet these hotel employees are trained to mind their business, which would include not looking in peoples rooms when they open a door for them. She/he did not look in the room therefore she/he did not see a body.

The police release details as they see fit. The hotel more than likely instructed said employee to not run his/her mouth about this until further notice. This is not America where the employee would be offered sever thousand dollars and appear on 3 morning news shows the next day.

I think that too. It wasn't for sex as Stephany was an out lesbian, and it wasn't for him to show her any fancy card tricks, as she was a better player than he was. I think it was to smoke a joint, or some other drugs.
How can someone land in a new city and score drugs so easily? Joran didn't carry his drugs on him when he flew from place to place, did he? So he just walked into a neighborhood and bought his weed and coke, or whatever.... he was pretty fearless. Why didn't he just stay in the Netherlands and gamble, bum around? Isn't pot pretty much not a big deal in the Netherlands? Seems like he could have been in hog heaven if he had just stayed there, not to mention protected legally...jmo

I think she maybe loaned him some money at the casino and was going to the room to get it back. I believe they maybe played on-line poker a bit then she decided to crash there. Maybe she realized who he was or caught him stealing her stuff... I'm not sure yet what caused the violent reaction by Joran. He probably just wanted her money.

Casey, Scott P, Mark Hacking, there are so many twisted peeps it almost makes you look a little sideways at people in your own neighborhood/ city.

I remember when I worked at the jail here in the 80's I knew an inmate who was always in/out for drug offenses. He caused no trouble and was always polite, set off NOTHING on my hinky radar as far as him being anything but a petty drug user and dealer.

He got out and was caught after abducting, raping and killing a little boy who I believe was about 7 yrs old. It was a horrible crime, and I remember thinking there was NOTHING about him that I would have suspected that he was capable of such a crime. He was sentenced to a long prison term and died in prison a few years later. So, even when you are around criminal elements, sometimes their ability to commit such a heinous crime isn't "obvious". I was shocked when I read in the newspaper he was the one who did it, as I "knew" him!

Well, lets say he does 20 years in Peru jail and makes it through that without being killed, then does he stand charges from the US on the extortion charges? Will Peru send him to the US for those charges, 20 or so years from now? Is there some statute of limitations on those charges, or will they sit until hes avail for extradition?

It looked to me that Joran was standing very close to make sure the attendant did not go into the room after opening the door. He HAD to know he was already busted by the camera... I don't know why he continued with the charade.

The room is small, but I believe the bed is sort of around a corner with the body being between the bed and the wall. So probably the attendant could not of seen the body even if they glanced in the room.

Yes, I believe they are only releasing evidence that shoots down Joran alibi.
They probably have several other videos showing him going for coffee, going to the casino, etc... that they are holding for now.

That site is VERY sensationalist. They include outright falsities in nearly every one of their articles I've read. This is the first and only place I've seen the taxi drivers mentioned... I highly doubt it's true.
