and why would he invent this if not to plant the idea in the Peruvian authorities he is somehow a victim or there is something wrong with
him ? The Peruvian system allows time off for people who commit
crimes with certain disabilities ...

All we know objectively is the word has come up, out of Joran. We dont know that Joran actually received such an email or not, or would be so
offended as he is claiming ... why is Joran trying to portray himself as a
vestile virgin in any sense? I seriously doubt he has not been called names before! He might just laugh it off ... not to kill somebody over it!

BTW just so you know, I wrote a phD thesis about Down's syndrom clients at a facility I worked at in my college years ... ages ago. At the time
Mongoloid and Mongoloidism were accepted clinical terms including in case files - no pejorative
sense was implied. It is only is recent times that Down's Syndrom has
replaced the term, but as a result of social PC efficacy and social mores
having noting to do with clinical efficacy?

Personally, I think it was culmative feelings that caused this "alleged" murder -- not just one particular word. I have a disabled step-sister, so I tend not to use such derogatory terms. Do I think this was the real reason -nahhh....I think he's using it as an excuse for his trial down the road. If the e-mail exists, I'm sure we we would have seen it by now, or will in the future. Of course, it could be another one of JVS lies.

Now that we know it could be 2 years down the road before he gets to trial, I'm not sure how much this e-mail will really come into play -- considering all the other facts that exist.

What bothers me the most is JVS always has a reason to blame others. It was the e-mail he received, it was he was losing at the tables, it was Stephany's fault. When is he going to take accountability for his own actions?

They said they were just going to get thru this with family love and didn't want to have vengeance in their heart. They wanted to let Justice handle it and remember Stephany as she was. They said her body was gone but her soul will live on with them forever!

What a loving and wonderful family. Having lost a mother (not to violence), it hurts everyday. But I have to agree, the body is gone, but she will live on forever

I agree. For someone short tempered, out of money, not sure what he's going to do next -- this would certainly set him off. According to the psych report, he is quick to anger. If Stephany didn't want to give up her money (obviously), it wouldn't take much.

OTOH, I think he's also using all this gobbldy-goop to set himself up as "sick in the brain", an act of rage -- for a lesser sentence.

Maybe their statement means there were no signs of a depressant drug (i.e., date rape drug) in her system that would have made her drowsy and affected her thinking and reactions, but only a stimulant drug to keep her awake.

I sure wish someone would send this to a certain person in the media, who consistenly reports that Stephany was drugged with the date rape drug. Talk about false reporting - ughhh.

I seem to recall that early on in the NH case the police put Joran and the Kalpoe brothers in a police car and secretly recorded them... they seemed to call each other "" a lot particularly Joran. This makes me think that that word and others like it are a favorite derogatory word he uses, which makes me think that he came up with this supposed email from his own mind.

You may be right. It is certainly a diffrent generation and values
and circumstances than I grew up in (postWWII). There wasnt a casino
in my whole State! (now there are 8). My tuition was $247 per semester -
my last sons just several years ago $20,000! Its unreal the pressures and
diminoished opportunities our own society is facing for our children ... but
that still is no excuse for Joran or the Kalpoes. They simply have different values and they mean to act on their values until forced to do otherwise.
That is universal no matter the era.

Hi BloodshotEye... the *only* question I have with regards to this theory is why would he take her to his room, the room that was registered in HIS name, to commit the crime? He could have done it in her car where it wouldn't point directly to him - at least at first. Taking her to his room just doesn't make sense to me.

My older son thinks he 'wanted' to get caught. He was broke, had kept moving for years...he thinks he was tired and maybe guilt was finally wearing him down. He feels he killed this girl and left a clear cut trail because he was ready, and wanted to get caught. FWIW

I watched NG last night and saw the e-mail Joran sent the friend asking for money so that he could get back to Aruba. I am not so sure that he wanted the money to return to Aruba, but was trying to get money to finance the big poker tournament that was coming up in Lima. I'll bet police found a lot of e-mails sent by Joran to friends asking for money so that he could continue gambling. I wouldn't be surprised if he were hatching yet another scheme on Beth to get even more money from her. He is a compulsive gambler and gambling is what he breathed all day, every day.

I think the latest story as to why Stephany returned to Joran's hotel room was to play on-line poker. This I would believe. I don't think he intended to rob and kill her when he asked her to his room. I think he asked to borrow money from her and Stephany refused. This angered him so much that he decided that he was going to get something from her and tried to assault her sexually. She put up a fierce struggle and was killed by Joran, his rage escalating. I don't believe for a minute his e-mail to murder story.

The smirking Ludwig guy helped to prove that Joran was desperate for money and was ready to leave Peru. Joran could have planned to drug and "roll" Stephany in that hotel room, leaving her to wake with all her money taken and Joran long gone. I'd sure like to know what time the employees heard the argument. Stephan probably never even got sleepy and caught Joran trying to get her money if he wasn't able to coax her into drinking something. Stephanie having taken amphetamines may really have foiled Joran's plans. He may even have tried to force her into taking ghb for all anyone knows.

I'm thinking Joran had offered or slipped something to Steph either in the car or at the hotel, since she was certainly sleepy in the casino. (Or, she had something in her car but why wouldn't Joran take it too if he wanted to stay up gambling online?) The video shows her with her head on her arm at the table and yawning when cashing in her chips.

I agree. If such an email exists, it would be just one of hundreds/thousands that he has received over the years, and he would have probably shrugged it off. He has not hidden his identity, so would have been easy to find.

If they were playing online polka (and that again, is probably a lie, like most things that come out of his mouth) why would he check his emails in front of Stephany? Especially ones that were from people he didn't know.

And, as for Stephany slapping him, once, she found out that he was accused of killing Natalie - ah, sure, that's what anyone would do - slap a 6' 3" murderer!!

He may have used the ruse of playing polka to ture Stephany there, but once there, he would have reverted to type, and probably tried to force himself on her. I think his intent was both sexual and to steal her winnings. He didn't need anything to "set him off" he is already programmed to violence when he is refused what he wants.

Only two people know what really happened, and one of them is dead. He will use any lie that he can dream up that he thinks may help him in court.
