I would guess this rat is what we call "sewer rats" and they get as big as small dogs!!!

If Joran feeds it some of his food, it may befriend him. He could even name it Ben. Lol.

Or in desperation, he could roast it like I saw once on a PBS show with Nomads in another country far, far away.

Big rats, lots of rats, I am freaking out myself.

They would be sewer rats because that toilet hole is a pipe connected to the sewer. Actually rats are pretty smart and they first sent out a scout. If there is leftover food in his cell and the going is good/ safe, his other rat buddies will follow LOL.

Looking at the Cooks Galley.....I would say DofH never makes visits and could care less.

I'm sure JVS is wearing his shoes to sleep in too. His cot is no where near the length of his body, so he must overhang somewhere and what end of this body is near the "latrine"? The little dude could chomp (sweet nothings) on one of his ears too. Maybe the reason that guy had the hat on covering his ears. Although, I do think the rat would be among his least of worries with the amount of TB apparently rampant in Peruvian prisons because of overcrowding. Drug resistant TB by the way.

I've seen pics of him with a huge python around his torso when in Thailand, so why the squirmy worry over a little a Speedy Gonzales?

I think a lot gets fuzzy when translated. Dutch/English; sporter would be sportsman ,atleet would be athlete and sportief would sport-loving .
