I hate to state the obvious but a couple of things that really anger me about this Joran van der Sloot situation.

It didn't have to be this way. Stephany didn't have to die.

Assuming Joran van der Sloot was responsible for the death of Natalee Hollway, if he had just come clean and admitted it was an accident or a mistake he would be doing time in Aruba working on getting his life back together one day.

And Stephany wouldn't be dead.

If his Father didn't cover for him, lie for him, instruct him to lie and if he had simply instructed Joran to come clean.

If the Aruban authorities and or government had actually successfully investigated and prosecuted this crime as opposed to covering it up.

I can't believe the Arubian authorities want to speak with Joran about the Natalee Holloway case now.

What makes them think they get a do-over now?

Stephany is dead because of their inability to investigate a crime committed in their nation...

I thought the guy (Garcia?) who LE had interviewed said he had someone from the casino call the hotel---no answer so he went over there, by that time, her body had just been found. My understanding...only.

But he does speak Spanish! And pretty fluently, according to some sleuthers here. More lies, I guess. sigh.

There are reports stating that a translator from the Dutch embassy was with VDS at his confession. He confessed in Dutch and it was translated into Spanish.

As I mentioned earlier, I'm sure this same translator was available to translate the confession written in Spanish for VDS before he signed it.

ETA: The media pronounced it like Blades (razor blades) but it's pronounced like Blah-dez.
