Okay let me see if I'm following this in a very general and non specific way.

I'm not saying JVDS has this.

A child that has been diagnosed with ODD, if it is left untreated may eventually have a more serious conduct disorder and that could include Intermittent explosive disorder.

Now, I seem to recall a study (just vaguely) and I could be recalling completely something not connected but has it been suggested that some children/adolescents that have a diagnosed ODD but do not get proper treatment can also be later diagnosed with Anti-social PD?

Please don't take the above as fact (to anyone reading this) I'm just exploring this in my own mind and it probably has nothing to do with JVDS.

Just watching TV prior to facing the judge tells ya something.....he's totally
disconnected to what his real problems are.

Goes along with him being so calm outside the hotel room with Stephany's dead body inside, and his overall demeanor in the past when arrested in Aruba. I honestly feel he thinks this will be like Aruba though and he'll be very shocked in the end. MOO

My grandson has Intermittent Explosive Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder with a co-morbidity of Bipolar Disorder and he is only 7. We have been told That he will have to live with the Bipolar Disorder all his life but will do well with medication (if he takes it) The Explosive and Defiant Disorders can become much worse (Conduct Disorders) and he can carry them into his adulthood. I think this is what has happened to Joran. Do I think it is too late? Yes. Anita just now admitted Joran was to go into a hospital for his mental problems. She must have been aware he needed this a long time ago.

Thank you for opening sharing that information Dolly and also giving your thoughts about JVDS situation at this time.

I, too, know of a family member that was diagnosed with ODD as a child. Then as a teen it was a diagnosis of IED. I don't claim to know about either.

This man (now grown) was involuntarily commited (since released) and we were told by his Mother that the diagnosis is now (also) primarily ASPD. We were told this because he had contacted us out of the blue and asked to come stay with us for more than a visit.

She was concerned for our safety. He isn't allowed into her home. She grieves because of that.

Again, not directly related to JVDS. But a discussion of other disorders that may have applied to him or may not have when he was younger. JMHO.

ETA: She is a highly educated woman and she is the one that had sent me some info about the possibly correlation that I thought I was remembering through an email. I did not keep that email and looked no further into it.

I guess this has nothing to do with JVS but I know several people that have children/grandchildren who have been dx'd with different disorders such as ADD etc. What is interesting is they cannot wait to have the children diagnosed and put on medication, but then they pick and choose when/if the child takes it....ie, makes them sleepy, makes them not hungry,etc. so they just discontinue it willy nilly....I assume after working with a doctor for many years that these meds are like a lot of others....you don't stop them suddenly you have to taper off.......why do they go to all this trouble and then don't do the work that is needed to help the child? Frustrates me to no end....and then (in the cases I am referring to ONLY) these poor kids constantly get into mischief and are constantly in trouble...I don't understand.....I wish I did. IMO

Medication helped but he hated it. Why do they hate it so?? He would only say he didn't like the way it made him feel.. tired ect.. that was on Adderal which if you and I took it we would be speeding.

I was just reading the Comments from some of the people of Peru who have posted on the "El Comercio" Newspaper...LOL You wouldn't believe the things they are posting. Of course they all hate Joran. Some are saying Stephany's father is getting all his $$ together to pay off the police, guards, etc. to put a hit on Joran. They are calling him "El Loco" (Crazy) and say they are so angry he insulted the judge by not answering his questions. The last thing Joran should be doing right now is pi$$ing off the people of Peru!!

Right now I think Joran should consider himself very lucky there won't be a JURY trial. I'd also think they'd be upset that he is now saying his confession was forced, and so forth. MOO
