I am wondering if it's because of the money. We now have someone going to the prison with food for JVDS twice a week and coincidentally the ex-girlfriend doing another interview in the Netherlands. I believe she may be funding or helping to fund his defense.

I am told that is nothing new for families of prisoners in foreign systems to have someone bring food and other necessary items, especially in the 3rd world prisons.
Melody may still be in love with him, her first love. I thought that was a teen crush for her. Oh well. Live and learn. They can spend their money foolishly if they want, but it won't help in Peru. The Judge has the final say.
For the life of me, I can't understand people who want such a gruesome murderer out free. He sure won't go to any Psych institute; I'm sure his mom thought of that after the fact and not before.

If he gives an interview it will be totally contradicting everything his attorney has advised him. "Keep your mouth shut", but since when has JVS listened or absorbed any good advice...even when it has to be paid for?

Don't you just love Joran's eyes looking upward....as though he's just so bored and wants it over and done with.

Tattoo......well he certainly does have 'worries' now doesn't he.:banghead::loser::loser::loser:

He's looking up and cursing at his father for not being able to dig him out of this mess like last time. OH wait, in that case I think he would be looking down. JMO.

Joran van der Sloot TV Tell-All Worth $1 Million

Several TV insiders have told me that Dutch murder suspect Jordan van der Sloot has refused to give any TV interviews unless he gets paid. And the asking price? $1 million
.

Reported on POPEATER.

http://www.popeater.com/2010/06/29/joran-van-der-sloot-tv-interview/

And what passes for "journalism" just keeps getting more atrocious. "TV insiders?" Tell me how any "TV insider" could possibly have communicated with Joran? I think we would have heard of any "TV insider" visiting him. More nonsense to poison the public mind further against this kid. As if that is necessary at this point.

So Joran is "positively giddy" about all the attention he's receiving? Yeah, that's some attractive, enjoyable thing he's got going for him. Really, at this point, the lynch mob will believe anything they're told about Joran.

Can you not see that Joran has had a role in poisoning the public against himself? At some point whether you think he is innocent or not you have to acknowlege that some blame for the public's perception belongs to Joran. There comes a time when you have to say Joran you have lied so many times to the public, it's no wonder people think you are guilty...those are the consequences for changing your story so many times. Instaed of excusing his behavior by saying well he is a pathological liar.JMO

Personally, if Joran didn't want the attention, the mob, the prison in Peru...he shouldn't have killed poor Stephany.

Joran is an adult and has been for some time. Referring to him as a kid is somewhat misleading as he has completed a college education, lived abroad apart from his parents and ran a business in his own name.

He has participated in numerous interviews so we are aware of his demeanor in front of a camera.

No he didn't. He flunked out/kicked out, but he does not have a college education. IMO. The rest I agree with, FWIW.

You're right, IF he killed Stephany. Some of us don't believe he did.

The point about the "TV insider" story is not to say that Joran hasn't helped to bring public condemnation upon himself. It is to criticize this bogus "news" story itself, which represents the kind of "journalism" that is becoming all too common in the U.S. No matter how bad Joran may or may not be, he doesn't deserve to have damaging stories invented about him.

Thanks so much. I should have worded that he went on to try and secure an
education as an adult, or some such. But yes, he was of age to be accepted at those facilities and on his own.
:)

What does he deserve Unreals? I'm curious to know what a person would deserve after misleading investigations, causing the police to spend thousands of dollars in searches, participating in interviews where he lies and then recants those lies, fabricating stories about other people being involved in attending to a woman in distress in front of her hotel,...what does he deserve from us?

Joran is his own worse enemy. He's failed at life and he's only 22 or so. Two murders at his age. Egads. jmo

He gives interviews to de telegraaf for his own benefit and fails again. Would be funny, but NOT since we have two dead women. Sad. :(

He wouldn't be the first. It comes part and parcel with "celebrity".

He just doesn't seem to get a break.

Even IF everything you (and most posters here) believe about Joran is true, he deserves justice. That means no highly incriminating fake stories like this one, citing anonymous "TV insiders" that, in Joran's present situation, most clearly do not have any access to him.

Of course, because Joran is being charged in Peru, it is hard to say just what rights what he, or any defendant, has under their system of law.
