They just have to get out of him where Natalee is - I wonder if he will ever let them know? :( Surely the Kalpoe brothers are in a position where they could maybe bargain for the information? Or even his mother?

Hi, Jenelle, thanks for your note.

However, there is no reason to believe that the Kalpoes would know what happened to Natalee. There is good reason to believe that they were nowhere near the scene while Joran was still on the beach with her.

And his father wasn't an influential judge; he had been a judge-in-training who didn't even have the leverage to get hired for the job he had come to the island for.

Bundling together anyone mentioned in the case makes good cable news, but often glosses the story.

P.S. I hope, Jenelle, that my last sentence doesn't seem directed at you. I've just become a little impatient with online news sources who knot everything together.

Where are you all getting the info he was in Aruba on the 10th of May? I thought he was in Holland.

 to my Aussie friend, darnudes!

oh mercy....I read that several places over the past 2 days. I would not begin to know where to find it again. Probably in the first thread opened?

If you've gotten other articles linking him to the Netherlands, please link and get us straight.

Not there yet. 3 hours delay. Will be transferred to Tagnat then taken to Lima where he will be charged with the murder. [Raphael somebody reporting from Peru on CNN.]

Stephanie had made some money playing poker that night. Her car was found 50 blocks from the hotel.

Joran is charged with trying to extort money from AN ENTITY in Alabama.

Cleaning this up a little bit -

Raphael R is reporting live from Peru for CNN. He reports that

Joran is not in Peru yet. His transfer has been delayed, pushed back 3 hours.

He will be turned over to Peruvian officials in the city of Tagnat. From there he will be taken to Lima where he will be charged for what happened to Stephanie Flores. [sp my own]

The reporter went on to say that Stephanie may have made some money playing poker that night. Also that her vehicle was found 50 blocks away from the hotel where her body was found.

The reporter then mentioned the extortion charges from Alabama. He said a complaint had been filed. He also seemed to make a point about it being an ENTITY that Joran attempted to extort the money from.

EDIT: correct name of city is TACNA, not Tagnat. My apologies. No habla espanol.

Hello lovely :) Hope you haven't been studying too hard.

I'm pretty sure, but don't quote me, that he was in Holland on 10 May. I will have to find a link to back it up though. I was on youtube the past few days going over all his interviews etc. again and I think it was on there.

Will get back to you.

ps Hornsby has been posting on hinky and will be putting up some new work on his blog soon - thought you might like to know

I firmly believe Deepak knows and helped 'clean up', at the least. Jug Twitty only confirmed that belief during his local CBS affliate interview yesterday. Not as sure about Satish.

I do hold out hope that Deepak may talk now. Paul van der Sloot is dead, Joran is in HUGE trouble in Peru.... I really hold out hope that Deepak may confess what he knows one day. If it were up to me, if I were Beth & Dave, I'd be willing to work with the Aruban prosecutors and agree to to offering him immunity for just telling everything he knows. Just so they could finally know the truth.

Thank you! I saw Val's post on AZ's thread, but I have been glued to this forum for the past 3 days.

I will go over and pull his chain a couple of times. just for fun. ;) I heard from him a couple of days ago, but didn't mention that he was going to be posting again soon. I owe him a :slap:. for forgetting to tell me that. I am always bugging him to blog some more.

He probably did but I missed it. [sorry]

:waitasec: I'm confused. His transfer was delayed 3 hours, but he already left on a plane this morning. I wonder if he is in Peru, but not yet in Lima.

This sounds really odd. I hope the transfer is going smoothly.

Someone on another board pointed out that $250,000 was the amount of the reward for Natalee. Don't remember if that is true or not, but an interesting point, if so.

Posting to link AZ to all the docs/videos in one place -

AZ, here is what we know so far -

1. Sometime on or prior to 5/10/10 a call was made to 'extort' money -
- info in re. Natalee's death and/or location of body would be exchanged for the amount of $250,000.

2. On 5/10/10, a $15,000 "down-payment" was wired from a Birmingham, AL bank to a bank in the Netherlands.

3. - that Joran was in Aruba on 5/10/10.

4. - that Joran arrived in South America on 5/14/10.

5. - that Joran rented a room in his own name and lived in Peru until he left on 5/30/10. (Or was it the morning of 6/1/10? :waitasec:)

6. - that Joran left Peru and was apprehended in Chile yesterday, 6/3/09, per a warrant for his arrest for the murder of Stephany Ramirez, 21 yrs. old, daughter of a prominent Peruvian family whose body was discovered several days later. She was murdered and severly beaten in his Peruvian hotel room.

7. - that Joran has been turned over from Chilean authorities to the PDI (Peru) to be transported and is on his way back to Peru as I type this to face arrest for the murder Stephany Ramirez.

Exacty what rights does this Complaint afford the United States? Did the U.S. have a right to enter a foreign country to arrest him before he allegedly committed the murder in Peru? There has been criticism that the feds did not act soon enough in issuing this arrest warrant and therefore preventing another murder. (it is my opinon that it was a sting operation since only a $15,000 "down payment" of the requested $250,000 was wired on 5/10/10. IOW, the feds weren't finished with this "sting" that I propose and aren't psychic in knowing what the future held during the coming 2-3 weeks) If he is convicted and serves time in Peru, does the U.S. have rights to have him extradited post-release from Peru? Or would he have to enter the U.S. voluntarily before he could be arrested?

Thanks in advance for coming over here and helping us out. :blowkiss:

If you want to join us and catch up, Patty G's YouTube site is lined below. As you know, it is a plethora of great info including videos that link news articles as well as transcripts of Nancy and Issues coverage of Joran.

The U.S. has an extradition treaty with Peru:http://www.oas.org/juridico/MLA/en/traites/en_traites-ext-usa-per.pdf.

Whether extradition is possible, however, depends in part on the laws of Peru regarding that conduct, and of course I'm not too familiar with the laws of Peru. ;) Also, it would have taken some time to work out the extradition, even assuming that the feds had any clue where Joran was at the time.

I'm a little confused by this Complaint. Where's the extortion/fraud? This looks like something that was filed because the feds wanted to file "something" against him but didn't have the facts they needed to really charge him with what they wanted to charge him with. I don't think they would have filed this on May 10. I think they were waiting for something more. Like the location of Natalie's body.

Thanks md89. Good to see he got this far in one piece.

I agree, Macon. It all seemed to be too convenient, but if they hunted him down and arrested him I guess he must have done it.

Personally I am surprised that the Peruvian justice system would turn out to be less corrupt than that of a developed country like Aruba. [I don't know very much about either country except what I have heard on the cable talk shows like GVS & NG so I don't know why I would be surprised.]

Stephany's father seems to be an honorable man, and although he's justifiably shocked and grieving, I'm sure he wants to see correct person punished. That might turn out to be the best deterrent against corruption at least as far as making sure the guilty party is convicted.

Hi, Beach2yall. With all due respect to Mr. Twitty, his opinions on this case have been colored by some very strong and understandable emotions. Phone records and triangulations, several interrogations, and known movements don't indicate any Kalpoe involvement except their fragile, short-lived lie. (The taped police car conversations and Joran's own subsequent hostile statements hardly indicate that he feared any possible incriminating statements from them.) If they had been involved, they would have been nothing short of insane to expose themselves to hostile deposition questioning by Dr. Phil McGraw's million-dollar lawyers after they sued him. (We have the O.J. Simpson civil trial to substantiate that.)

I agree that the Kalpoes do not know any more than they have told. They lied for their friend initially, when they thought he was innocent, but then came clean. Even Joran has laughed that they were just dupes.

I didn't really follow the Natalee case. Just watched what was played on the news. I had no idea about crime forums at that time.

I'm so very happy that this guy has been caught for something but I hate that it took another loss of a precious life to get to this point.

I wanted to thank everyone who has posted in this thread. Thank you for the links, information, videos, etc. I really appreciate it!

Just some clarification. The Peruvian city in the border with Chile is called TACNA not Tagnet.

Joran is now in ARICA, Chilean city in the border with Peru.

Dutchman Joran van der Sloot arrived in Arica and will undergo medical examinations before being expelled to Peru.

More than nine vehicles will conform the caravan that will take Joran van der Sloot across the border
