...but would he have known that? We haven't seen anything that pinpoints how the neck broke...for instance...was it as a result of the head being hit in such a way and with such force it caused the neck to snap? Or was the chop to the side of the neck and it broke along those lines?

Would he have known what?? True, we don't know how the neck broke. The ME needs more facts from the investigation to determine that, if he can. I'm sure he will consider how Joran said it happened to see if it resulted in any bodily damage, neck breaking or otherwise.

Perhaps he was flying back & forth but I can't figure it out yet either.

According to what is in Greta's info (link below), after Joran left Aruba on May 13 he flew to Columbia to Peru. However what we don't know is if Joran flew from Columbia to Peru to meet with Beth's attorney on May 10th.

bruising occurs premortem ie before the heart stops beating. This is why JVS story of giving her a karate chop doesn't fit what information we were given about the extent of Stephany's injuries. Her injuries sound more consistent with a brutal beating.. So I think his confession is a piece of BS. Blame the victim not yourself. Minimize your culpabilty in the crime. This case is murder plain and simple!!!!!

I really don't find it that shocking that JVS said they were going to have sex after breakfast. When it was first mentioned that she was a lesbian-by one of her girlfriends, she said Stephany was struggling with her sexuality choices. She met him, liked him and maybe she was attracted to him and wanted to experience the sex with him if she wasn't sure of her life choices yet. But then she found out more than she wanted to know--too bad he came back so soon--she might have had time to run after finding out.

When Joran left Aruba on May 10th, with the 15,000 dollars in extortion money, he flew to Columbia for 2 days prior to Peru. Officials in Colombia are so convinced he is involved in the disappearance of these 2 young woman, they have boarded a plane to Peru to question Van der Sloot.

Once the crime was committed on tape - it was - the FBI planned to make arrangements to arrest van der Sloot.

3 days after Van der Sloot was caught on tape committing the two planned crimes, he boarded a flight from Aruba to Colombia and on to Peru.

It appears the crime was "delivered" to them on May 10 and in the best possible manner: on tape.

Joran FIRST received $10,000.00 on May 10th, the other $15,000.00 was wire to an account in the Netherlands. Joran received $25,000.00 in total.

This confession exceeds the limits of reason. IMO

He might have killed her, but a KARATE CHOP?! That sounds like a coerced confession: after 7 or more hours or more of questioning, he just made up something [ANYthing] to get them to stop the interrogation.

After the murder in Peru, the US Attorney in Alabama unsealed an Amended Criminal Complaint charging van der Sloot with extortion and wire fraud (per the original plan.) What is not known is what was Amended or when the original Criminal Complaint was filed (it was apparently under seal.) Both these pieces of information could be helpful in better understanding what happened.

I could see that scenario IF she wasn't on her period. How many women have a one night stand when it's their TOM? Also, IMOO, they didn't seem to be "hooking up" on the video where she followed him into the room. To me, it seems there was another reason for her to go to his room besides sex. Maybe some type of business transaction...

If he murdered SF, is it not equally likely that the extortion sting operation drove him to such desperate action as did the failure of Aruban officials to arrest him?

I always wondered why no one was discussing this when I posted about it on Friday. I thought it was such an important piece of information because, IMO, this money funded Joran's trip to Peru.

True, the extortion (sting) cetainly didn't drive him to kill, however the money made it easier to get to Peru!
