Learning this, and that Kaylee was stabbed more than 30 times, according to SG, it is easier for me to understand why he was so strongly against a plea arrangement that allowed the killer to live. JMO

View attachment 603558

JMO, he was enraged at the victims who fought him. Just from viewing his body language and facial expressions yesterday in court, he doesn't like women.

From my interpretation his facial expressions as the various women testified yesterday:

He takes pleasure when women are afraid of him; he becomes angry and unhappy when women challenge him. Otherwise, they bore him and he's not interested in what they have to say.

Perhaps he's an incel - an "involuntary celibate". Due to the personality type and lack of social skills, etc. they are often rejected by women to whom they're sexually attracted. This makes them angry and resentful and eventually is generalized to other women, even total strangers. A woman who fights back against an incel is triggering that rage and anger that comes from rejection. It's the classic profile of most rapists, too.

Bbm.
Agreed.
Wish they could have forced a few answers for the families, in exchange for the plea deal, though.
Just thinking out loud.
We probably haven't heard the last of him, unfortunately. He'll probably make himself available for interviews with media, etc. He's a narcissist and probably wants to tell his own "story" in his own way.

BK would make every effort to not leave traces of stalking, etc.--criminology background and all. He went directly to the 3rd floor, Maddie's room. Others have said that the interior of the house is not intuitive, the way the stairs are. Maybe he found plans of the house layout, or maybe had been inside before, undetected. Based on his OCD I would imagine he planned which person and which house weeks or even months before. Sounds like he is a germaphobe too, sort of surprised he would feel comfortable committing a crime like this at all.
Before the listing disappeared, we were all able to see the inside of the house, and make sense of the flow of rooms. surely he did that too.

Renowned expert Ann Burgess mentions that her team helped the Goncalves with suggestions for their VI statements.
It's around 1 hr into this show

ETA
Am still watching the show and they're raising the issue of the Defense table and the facial reactions of the Defense team & I know many WS-ers made similar comments here yesterday. At 1 hr 18mins.
Also Joel & Ann ask why the Defense allowed him to bring in the Black Heart image.Burgess believes he brought that to try to build mystique!
I watched this all the way through. Good, expert guests. I'm not one for watching YouTube shows but I was looking for anyone mentioning the black heart. I thought yesterday maybe I had overreacted about AT and the others at the defense table. Joel said that something "he" wanted to bring in was contraband and AT made a copy of it so she not only allowed the black heart, she facilitated it. Or that's what I though I heard.

There's also a body language analysis of "him" during the victim impact statements by that psychologist--Dr. G. That was interesting because he was looking at eye blink rate, heavy breathing, head nods and that movement of half the mouth that signals contempt. I'm not expert, but contempt seemed to be his emotion of the day.

As for the rest of the defense table, I don't expect the defense attorneys to get emotional, even though the judge and the prosecution side were visibly and audibly moved at times. And perhaps looking the victims in the eye is beyond them because of the need to control emotions. But to sit with downcast eyes (AT) or sit with what appears to many people with a smirk (whoever that lawyer is), without acknowledging that people were speaking in the room is rude and unprofessional. I'm quite certain AT could have held it together if she had been given the opportunity to gut DM or BF in a cross examination. Guarantee she could face those traumatized girls with dry eyes in that context. For a hot minute there, I was convinced that this is how defense attorneys behave. This video showed me I was right in the first place, and the presence of that black heart on the table suggests something is way off with that team.

Interview with Kohberger in PA-#157
1. WatchGuard Event: NA
Additional Responding Officers: NA
Case number added to WG: NA
2. Evidence
NA-video/audio and transcript of interview added to case file 3. Narrative
On December 29, 2022, ISP Detective Sergeant Gilbertson, FBI Special Agent Shirley and I arrived in Albrightsville, PA in preparation for the service of the arrest and search warrants for Kohberger and his family's residence at
, Albrightsville, PA. After several coordination meetings, Det. Gilbertson, SA Shirley and I drove to the Pennsylvania State Police Barracks at Stroudsburg, PA to await the arrival of Kohberger after his arrest and to interview him upon his arrival.
At approximately 0200 hours on December 30, 2022, Kohberger was brought to the PSP Stroudsburg Barracks and placed in an interview room. The interview was recorded on the built-in video system at the barracks as well as Det. Gilbertson's pocket recorder. Det. Gilbertson and I were the interviewers present. This is a summary of our interview with Kohberger and is not a verbatim transcript of the interview. A full interview transcription will be attached to this case file.
Det. Gilbertson and I began by introducing ourselves and stating which agencies we represented. When I stated who I was, Kohberger stated "you do look familiar". Det. Gilbertson and I prepared our note taking materials and Det. Gilberston read Kohberger his Miranda Rights Advisement. Det. Gilberston asked Kohberger if he understood his rights to which he replied he did. After collecting Kohberger's personal information and inquiring about any medications, Det. Gilbertson and I began to speak to Kohberger. Det. Gilbertson asked Kohberger about the SWAT operation at the house to which Kohberger replied he was concerned about his parents and his dog.

Det. Gilbertson asked Kohberger if he was going to Washington State University to which he replied he was. We made small talk with Kohberger about sports for some time. Kohberger stated he didn't follow WSU football much but was a baseball fan. Det. Gilbertson asked Kohberger if he had only been at WSU for one semester. Kohberger confirmed this and said he came to WSU with his father on July 1st. Kohberger then went on to say he was a first-year PHD student in criminal justice and criminology. Det. Gilbertson asked Kohberger what the process was to apply for a PhD. Kohberger stated he applied to two places: UC Irvine and WSU. Kohberger said he was going to graduate with his Masters in Criminal Justice from De Sales and was inspired. Kohberger then asked if it was OK to engage in small talk like we were to which we replied it was. After briefly mentioning he was strengthened by the fact his mother and father were OK, Kohberger said he applied to the two aforementioned schools because they did not require the GRE exam. Kohberger then spoke about the GRE for a brief time and then said he was accepted by WSU.
Det. Gilbertson then asked Kohberger what lead him down the road of becoming a professor. Kohberger stated it was because he loved being in college and stated knowledge was far more important to him than money. Kohberger added WSU had a good program to study under, and then said "you guys know all about this more than likely". Kohberger then asked questions about University of Idaho and other Idaho Universities before stating he didn't know much about Idaho or Washington and had not left the "tri state area much". Kohberger then returned to speaking about his focus on learning and how he thought he could obtain his doctorate degree. Kohberger then said he recently returned home to see his family.
Det. Gilbertson then asked Kohberger about his time at De Sales University. Kohberger spoke for some time about his time at Northampton Community College and De Sales. Kohberger then spoke about how he became interested in criminal justice and stated he thought about being a police officer but did not want to make that commitment unless he was absolutely sure. Kohberger then continued to speak about his education and universities. Kohberger also spoke more about the process to get into a PhD program and how competitive it can be.
Det. Gilbertson then asked Kohberger about his move to Washington. Kohberger said he drove across country and wanted the challenge of driving cross country and experiencing it with his father. Kohberger then said he took a different route back home with his father for Christmas Break to avoid snow. Kohberger spoke about his travels and the risks of such travels in winter. Kohberger then began to speak about the beauty of the environment and its relationship to God and a higher power. We spoke about this for some time and Kohberger said he was raised Christian but was always a skeptic except when confronted with the beauty of the natural world. Det. Gilbertson asked Kohberger if he had ever been to the Pacific Northwest prior to coming to WSU, and Kohberger said he had not.
I asked Kohberger if he and his father made any stops along their way back to Pennsylvania. He told me they visited Colorado but the main goal was to just drive. Kohberger then told a story about seeing an unmarked police car near Kansas City speed up behind him, catch up to another vehicle, turn on its emergency lights, then drive away. Kohberger thought this was strange and was unsure why it occurred.
Det. Gilbertson then asked Kohberger about the job he mentioned. Kohberger stated he was a teaching assistant. Kohberger then talked about how busy he was and how the funding package that comes along with being a teaching assistance is

what makes the extra work worth it. Kohberger then discussed ongoing projects with WSU PD and Pullman PD. Kohberger spoke more about how being a TA is essentially assisting the professors and the department. Kohberger stated he did not get to assist with teaching with the exception of assisting with office hours. Det. Gilberston asked Kohberger if he would be a TA again next semester and Kohberger replied he would.
Kohberger then stated he understood why were engaging in small talk but would appreciate it if we explained to him what he was doing there. Det. Gilbertson asked Kohberger why he thought we were there. He said he wanted Det. Gilbertson to tell him. Det. Gilbertson said we were there because of what occurred in Moscow but did not provided any further detail. Det. Gilbertson asked Kohberger if he watched the news. Kohberger said "I watch the news". Det. Gilbertson then asked Kohberger why he thought I looked familiar. Kohberger said he wasn't sure and stated I had a familiar face and looked like someone he used to know. Det. Gilbertson then said we were there because of what happened in November jut off the University of Idaho Campus. Det. Gilberston asked Kohberger if he knew what that was to which Kohberger replied "of course". When prompted to elaborate, Kohberger said it was the incident we had been investigating for "how long has it been?" Kohberger said there were probably several incidents, and then said he was aware of a homicide because of a WSU alert he received. Det. Gilbertson asked when Kohberger received the alert. Kohberger said he wasn't sure but thought it was sometime the previous month. Det. Gilberston confirmed that was why were there and asked if Kohberger wanted to talk about that. Kohberger replied "well, I think I would need a lawyer". Kohberger then asked if we would explain to him what we were there for specifically and added he was tired. Det. Gilberston again stated we were investigating the homicides of the four students and that we had questions and things we hoped Kohberger would help us understand.
Kohberger sat back and said he had the utmost respect for law enforcement but stated it was a constitutional right to speak to an attorney. Det. Gilbertson affirmed this. Kohberger then reengaged and said the only thing he heard of from Moscow was an alert that came to his phone. Kohberger then said he wanted to talk to an attorney. Det. Gilbertson said we would stop now because Kohberger wanted to speak to an attorney. Kohberger then asked where his parents were and were his dog was. Kohberger reengaged again and asked what questions we would have for him. Det. Gilbertson then asked Kohberger again if he understood his rights and asked specifically what Kohberger wished. Kohberger asked what specifically we wanted to talk to him about and the reason. I told Kohberger he invoked his Fifth Amendment Rights and we were not going to ask him any further questions. Kohberger asked again for the reason he was there but added he would like to talk to an attorney. At this point, we concluded our interview with Kohberger and left the room.

Thanks for uploading.
Interesting to see him willing to engage in so much chit chat about the university, career, research instead of just demanding a lawyer from the start

Also no mention of what was widely reported back in 2023 - ' have you arrested anybody else?'

Our next would be members from the Kaylee Goncalves family. Um, first will be her father, Steve
Goncalves.
Today we are here to finish what you started.
Today you've lost control.
Today we are here to prove to the world that you picked the wrong families,
wrong state, the wrong police officers, the wrong community.

You tried to break our community apart. You tried to plant fear. You tried to
divide us. You failed. Instead, your actions have united
everyone in their disgust for you.

I just learned from these lead investigators to their shock. They worked in an investigation and
actually in worked with Pennsylvania police officers and the federal FBI. You
united everyone. Everyone was united after you.
None of us are divided. We were united in our disgust
and our love for these children.

Today you have no name.

Because when this all started, we all came together and we said, "Let's stop even talking about his name and just use
initials." See, even the media just called you BK.
That's all you are.

Looking back when the police officers knocked on my door,
told me what happened to my child, told me what happened to Mattie May.
I don't think he was even out of the driveway before my kids turned around, looked at me, and said, "What do we do,
Dad?" I told him, "You get to work.
You get your 🤬🤬🤬 to work." And we started calling. We started texting. We started emailing. And you know what?
Within hours, within hours, we had your white car on a camera. We knew. We knew
from the very beginning we had you. The police officers tell us within minutes they had your DNA, like a
calling card. You were that careless, that foolish, that stupid.

Master degree? You're a joke. Complete joke.

But we took this disaster and we did what we could.

We put everything online. We took our kids. We took our images. We took everything that they did. Their videos,
their photos, the girls pranks, Ethan singing. We put it out there. We
shared it with the world. And the world united. And all they ended
up when they talked about this case is they talked about Kaylee Jade, Maddie May,
Xana, and Ethan.

Everything with these people meant to us. A father, a mother, a brother, a sister.
We shared that with our community. Then we shared it with our state. We shared it with the country.
And eventually we shared it with the world. The world's watching because of the kids, not because of you.

Nobody cares about you. You're not worth the time, the effort to be remembered.
In time, you will be nothing but two initials forgotten to the wind. No visitors, nothing more than initials on
an otherwise unmarked tombstone.

From this moment, we've all started
Come on, Smallville. From this moment, we will forget you.
We want to all leave in closing. One last thing. You picked the wrong family
and we're laughing at you on your trip to uh to Pen. That will be today or tomorrow.

I'll close with God bless all the men and women that worked on this case. and all the hard work that you guys did.
You guys allowed us to grieve and allowed us to get through this. The amount of work that you guys put
together and the way that you guys put it together was beautiful.
There was hard times to be expected, but thank you all and God bless.

Thank you.

Has there been info about the black heart paper by BK at sentencing?

Begins at mark 3:12:01

Next is Christy Goncalves, Kaylee Goncalves's mother.
Just relax. Great.
Thank you, your honor. I never imagined having to speak to
someone so devoid of humanity. For a long time, I didn't think I'd find
the words low enough to meet you where you are. But now, I realize this isn't about you.
It's about what you've done to me. And I need you to hear it.

When you murdered my daughter, Kaylee J. Goncalves. You didn't just take her life.
You shattered others. You attacked what you could never be. And in doing so, you left a trail of
devastation far beyond that house. You stole my peace.
You've altered my every waking moment, every sleepless night, the way I view the world, people, safety, trust. It's
all been changed by your your cruelty. I no longer recognize parts of myself.
Joy is harder to find. Laughter feels foreign. The world world moves forward,
but I'm suspended in place of sorrow and rage. You've taken from me something that can never be restored.

The grief sits with me every day. Some days quietly, and other days so loud it drowns out everything else.
The emotional toll you've inflicted on me is immeasurable. I live with a constant ache. With birthdays that are
now memorials, with holidays that feel hollow, with empty chairs that scream louder
than words ever could. I am forever changed.

But for you, as a person working on a PhD in criminal justice, you really didn't think this one through. You're
not that good. In fact, you're not that good at anything.
You couldn't secure a job. You couldn't get along with others.
You couldn't even get a female to look in your direction. All because you are pathetic.

Now you're a joke in this courtroom. I wish I could have crown I wish I could crown you with a jester hat to complete
your orange jumpsuit clown look.

A dead killer doesn't kill again. So, while I'm disappointed the firing shot won't get to take their shots at you, I'm confident that the men in prison will have their way with you in more ways than one, you will finally get what
you wanted. Physical touch. Just probably not how you were expecting it.

See, you haven't beat the system. You've simply entered a new one where the rules
are cruel and the consequences will never end.

You are entering a place where no one will care who you are and no one will ever respect you. You will be forgotten,
discarded, used, and erased. You will always be remembered as an as a
loser, an absolute failure.

And when those prison doors slam shut behind you,
I hope that sound echoes in your heart for the rest of your meaningless days.

I hope it reminds you of what we all already know. You're nothing.
May you continue to live your life in misery.

You are officially the property of the state of Idaho where your fellow inmates are anxiously
awaiting your arrival.
But it's okay cuz they're there to help you.

Hell will be waiting.

Quick message from our youngest daughter.
Aubrey wanted to say, "You may have received A's in high school and college, but you're going to be getting big D's in prison."

Thank you.

Whilst I appreciate he has a reputation for angry rages and as his attorney her object is to keep him calm & silent, it looked bad in the midst of all these devastating VI statements & destruction he's caused.
Ditto her placing her hand on his arm in the previous hearing.

Upon a second watch of the proceedings, it did appear that way.
Eeek !

I hope we learn more about the routes he took those 23+ times. Will we know if he paused at the house?

My thoughts have been that he started driving around looking for the right house(s) for window-peeping, easy access, desirable victims - and 1122 fit the bill. I think he spent time parked above the house with the view through the windows.

After he picked the house, maybe he did then figure out who lived there and followed on social media, but I really do think it was the house that drew him, at least initially.

And I do suspect he slithered inside during at least one nighttime test run, when roommates were sleeping. Or, at least lurked in the yard as Kaylee noticed. Some of DM's nervousness might have been her noticing/hearing/sensing someone was messing around with the house in the weeks before the murders. (I hope she and BF are some day able to sleep well.)

I'm curious if he also lurked around other houses.

jmopinion

He is a cop wannabe- back in the day all the cop wannabe guys had police scanner radios.
Did he have a scanner app? We know LE was called there due to loud parties. This could be how this particular house first grabbed his interest?
Peeking through windows without blinds in the wee hours.
Grabbing trashed mail would give hints as to who lived there.
Online pics of House for Rent could have given him the floor plan.

If he was trying to carry out murders in Ted Bundy style, social media may not have played a part.
We know it was a dead end- no through traffic- so he didn’t get lost there 20+ times. He was scoping it out for some time.

IMO

Emphasis mine.
"Ditto" to the bolded !
I could not physically touch a perp who had committed such crimes.
Never.
As if their very being was contaminated, and might rub some skin cells off onto me.

Strange as how before the murders, I wouldn't have thought anything of BK.
Just a very average person and really a non-entity that most people wouldn't notice.
Imo.

idc what LE says about there not being a connection between him and the victims, or however they worded it.
A vegan would most definitely go to the Mad Greek for a bite.
And he could have looked at their socials without following or liking posts.
He could have had a rare smarty pants moment and used a VPN to do that.
His stupid moments were borne out of the arrogance of thinking he was smarter than everyone else.

idk what to make of the stalker in the woods claim. Me personally, would have gotten the lock fixed, but we do all tend to think we're invincible, protected, and probably over thinking events. If true, KG would have most likely assumed he was a nearby resident who just startled her, was not there to plan her demise.

so WHO IN THE HECK was Pappa Roger? where did they come from, where did they go Cotton Eye Joe.

Don't get me STARTED on his attorneys. OK, I'm STARTED.

To allow that #%%^&%*^ drawing next to him was an abomination. And someone needs to learn how to frown in a straight line.

That's all. For now. lol

Nothing official has been reported about the possible "black heart" on the paperwork in front of BK during the sentencing, just a lot of speculation and suggesting that the defense team was involved in some kind of "contraband" is just someone's speculation. It's possible that in a meeting with his attorneys prior to the start of the sentencing hearing, that BK drew on some of his paperwork with a dark pen, and wasn't something like "contraband."

After looking again at the location on King, I wonder if he chose his victims because of their association with fraternities and sororities. The house appears to be next to frat row. Along the lines of targeting someone who is perceived as popular, mainstream "in crowd".
