Hello, so very sad watching the victim statements and the judge. It's been just really heart wrenching and I feel very much for the parents, families and friends of the young people.

I have not been able to read all the previous threads and I am just looking for general answers here.

What did you think of the law enforcement press conference after the trial?
What do you think when they said BK was NOT Papa Rogers?
Do you think there was another person present when BK commited the crimes?
There seems to be some confusion over the weapon, was there one or two weapons?

I’ve been thinking about what the thing DM says she saw BK holding.
That paired with the facial injuries on KG, and BF firecracker noise and flash or spark.

If all of these are the same thing, what could it be?
An object from the crime scene used as a weapon would be easy to figure out- it would be covered in blood. Did he take it with him?

Whatever he took in there he took out- except the sheath.
Maybe a tactical flashlight- used like a billy club? Did he drop it?
Was a lamp knocked over? Bulbs turned on broken can make a flash and also a pop noise.
Some have said maybe a taser, a cattle prod? Would they leave marks?

The facial injuries on KG are a new level of depravity, I’d like to hear what a profiler says about that in addition to stab wounds. What a sick mind

IMO

NYT interview with Bill Thompson.

On the pre-murder cell tower pings-

But Mr. Thompson conceded on Thursday that those visits did not necessarily prove Mr. Kohberger had visited the home or surveilled it, as the area served by the cell tower infrastructure probably extended all the way to the main highway that brings people into town from Washington, where Mr. Kohberger lived. He said investigators were unable to find surveillance video that showed Mr. Kohberger’s car around the house in the months before the killings, though in some cases video of the area may already have been deleted.

In the end, Mr. Thompson said, it was “certainly possible” that Mr. Kohberger did not choose the location of his attack until moments before the crimes.

Lots more at link, he dispels alot of rumors, too much for me to copy and paste due to copyright.

BBM are my words.

I think it was a headlamp he was wearing over his caterpillar eyebrows, seeming like a flash because he was likely running and head moving all over. Not sure what the noise could have been though, just about anything really at that pont.. jmo

I think the opposite. He didn't target a young woman living alone, but a residence occupied by roommates. Maybe some of the deaths were 'well, what's one more?' if he couldn't really establish who you'd be in the house that night, but I think his way of thinking was 'multiple murders point all over the place, good luck coming after me you suckers'.

This guy has all the traits of a psychopath. I don't even see this as a thrill kill. He wanted to feel smart and powerful for 'getting away with it'. He planned it hoping it would be the 'perfect crime'.
The reason I don't think so is that he went straight up to Kaylee and Maddie's top floor rooms. I think he had a specific target in mind. Maddie's window, with the pink cowboy boots, was clearly visible from the back of the house.

I had to step away from this yesterday after watching those victim impact statements. Don’t know if this was posted as I missed so much and apologies if it was. SG seems much more resolved now that this is over and Kohberger is sentenced.

reading Dylan's account from 15th November for the first time. I appreciate she's traumatized and some parts are misapprehensions but it's terrifying

supp 42

This also stood out - ' the statement was not in a nice way' ( If this is accurate, the sadistic cruelty can't be overemphasised imo)

wrt to the firecracker/ firework & its sound, note that Dylan didn't hear it and that different descriptions are given - ' a loud boom'

My heart breaks for her, in reading this I can feel her thinking it through, trying to understand, trying to do a good job- and being terrified all at the same time.
Poor child, seeing/ hearing her was gut wrenching.
What she endured that night, and has from people second guessing her, is still taking a toll. But she did show up and shares what she wrote as brave as she could.
I hurt for her, and hope she has a support system so she can work through her trauma. I don’t know how a young woman finds their way back to feeling safe.

I do not have the document in front of me, but I am curious about the discarded black backpack that was apparently found in the backyard at 1122 King Rd. Nothing tying that to BK? Seems that could have been a great place to store his kill kit. Did he have to leave too quickly to completely cahnge out of his clothes and retrieve it? We do know from one of the released docs that he apparently searched for how to get blood out of a car, if I am not mistaken. JMO

For all the knife questions, this might help
If you look at the way it is designed, there are gaps in the handle so you would still have a grip no matter how slippery the handle gets. The handle is made of leather, and the edge grain will absorb a limited amount of liquid that actually raises the grain to help keep it from getting slick. The guard protects your hand from the blade, and the pommel, also known as the butt, of the knife is metal, round and hard, made for causing blunt force damage. I use mine as a hammer on a regular basis. These are not top of the line knives, but a good functional knife that you won't cry over if you lose it. JMO.

I have seen some suggesting the KBar butt end could have been used as a blunt force weapon.
I’m surprised he was as agile and effective with it in the first place.
He didnt have to change position- it was direction?
Upstrokes to stab/cut
Down strokes with the butt end for blunt force?
Nauseating

Was he just lucky, or did he practice? On what?
He didn't have any kind of special weapons training, as far as I know.

I don’t know, sick to imagine

Almost through the doc dump and this one stuck out:

In late May 2025, someone who watched the recent Dateline episode on the case recognized herself in the photos allegedly found on BK's phone. She was a student at WSU in Fall 2022 and was in a class BK was the TA.

Oof. This is insane. I’m sure she already freaked out when she saw it was him then to find that out

No, because I am against the death penalty. I would have liked him to have to give the families a motive and answer their questions however.
Personally, I think it likely that forensic psychiatrists and behavioral criminalogists who will eventually study him will be more likely to accurately identify the motive.

I suspect that BK did a lot of secret things (openly staring at others to the point of discomfort of the subject of his staring, remarking in a hostile or inconsiderate way to make others uncomfortable, mind games, burglary, stalking) that rewarded him with a personal sense of superiority, domination, and control. And that it was likely a drive to gain those rewards that compelled him to plan for and to brutally murder those four innocent young adults.

I find it odd that a grown adult male would spend HOURS talking to mommy from prison. I'll just leave it at that.

Seriously, BK has been locked up since Dec 2022. He's unmarried, and accused/convicted of a horrific crime. Who else is he going to talk to while locked up in jail, his calls monitored, and communication at a premium? Who's going to accept his collect calls from Ada County Jail? IMO, he's no different than Stephan Sterns, another evil offender whose daily communication is limited to his mommy & daddy.

IMO, both monsters are blessed to have a mother and father, and I wish these parents every grace possible. Nobody raises their children to become BK or SS.

IMO his parents should have faced the evidence and encouraged their son to confess long ago.

According to The James Patterson book, The Idaho Four: An American Tragedy, as late as last summer, his dad was telling a neighbor that he was innocent, and had been framed, and would be cleared at trial. JMIO

Exactly—he fell prey to the beast of social media misinformation, proclaiming his son’s innocence to the very woman, Connie Saba, whom his son had frightened by showing up unannounced in her kitchen to “apologize” for stealing her iPad while she visited her own son in jail.

Those that were in favor of the death penalty for true justice...all hope is not lost, BK will have vigilante justice staring him in the face daily....the boys will be rough on him, and won't hold back

Bryan Kohberger is a mass murderer. That puts him in the same class as other deadly mass murderers like Elliot Rodger, Adam Lanza, Nikolas Cruz, Salvador Ramos, Eric Harris, Devin Kelley, Seung-Hui Cho, Panya Khamrab, Anders Breivik, Stephen Paddock, Jim Jones, and Osama bin Laden.

Like many mass murderers, Bryan Kohberger is a dangerous injustice collector, grievance collector, or grudge hoarder. That characterizes many non-mass murderers ranging from Gertrude Baniszewski, Jodi Arias, Lori Drew, Yoselyn Ortega, Casey Anthony, Eliza Baker, David Berkowitz, and Jeffrey Dahmer.

The way he killed Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Madison Mogen shows he had deep seated and pent up rage. Anger that built up since childhood. It was not something he just thought one day. He thought of getting back at society. A society he thought that wronged him. Injustice collectors commit some of the most heinous crimes. Their crimes are quite gruesome and often have many killed.

People who knew Kohberger, described as chatty and off-putting. He was likely a constant complainer as well. Constant complainer is a characteristic of an injustice collector, grievance collector, or grudge hoarder. Bryan Kohberger can never pleased not matter what. That can be said of Elliot Rodger, Lori Drew, Rebecca Grossman, Eric Harris, Nikolas Cruz, and Osama bin Laden.

Bryan Kohberger at heart is an extreme narcissist. He is likely a narcissistic psychopath like Joran van der Sloot, Rebecca Grossman, Jerry Sandusky, and Jeffrey Epstein. That also applies to many mass murderers.
