Chief Anthony Dahlinger who was promoted & previously handled the case communications speaks to Nate Eaton about the plea deal ... 'could be mistrials, could be additional trials, all the work has to be done multiple times'

Second half of interview is more interesting.
Jeff Nye,Criminal Division Chief for the Idaho Attorney General, explains their role and why they stepped in to help the county prosecutor.

On IGG ' this was an issue of first impression in Idaho so no court had addressed a constitutional challenge... fruit of the poisonous tree.. all of the evidence was the fruit of those actions.. stakes couldn't have been higher.... as per Hippler If the FBI did in fact violate Mr's K's constitution.... you lose everything '

PS this relates to what Attorney Debarre was explaining & we discussed on WS last week - the real risk that Supreme Court - in the future - rules it unconstitutional/illegal risking a BK retrial with so much ruled as inadmissable

Nye also explains, If he does appeal, Mr Nye's division will handle it and clarifies the types of appeals and their limited prospects. ( Around 40mins)

This interview with Josh Ritter, as well as two special “Body Bags” podcasts on specifics of each murder are full of insight.

\/ TRIGGER ALERT: VERY GRUSOME \/

Thanks for the Body Bags links but just a query, maybe somebody on WS can answer

Joe Scott Morgan keeps mentioning Maddies's defensive wounds and saying that she had to have been awakened but I thought Bill Thompson was asked about this by Kevin Fixler and that BT said only KG & XK had defensive wounds.

Which is it? BT wouldn't get that mixed up imo

I believe the way in which Hippler responded to her ‘possible other suspects’ was awkward for AT, like a hand slap. It was almost an admonishing from Hippler, he wasn’t happy about it and it was obvious.
I've only read a little bit about Bundy, but this makes me agree with the other posters here who believe BK was trying to emulate or was "inspired" by Bundy. the similarities in this attack are chilling.

It almost sounds like they believed that it was okay to have a damaged lock on an exterior exterior because there was safety in numbers. Imagine coming home to find the lock on the front door damaged and thinking - it's broken, no reason to worry.

Moreover from that, BK may have been the source of why the door did not work properly (broken lock?, loose hinges on the front too). It is not typical to have issues like this. Gaining access to study the floor plan and become comfortable, there was evidence just like with lingering at the back of the yard to desentize Murphy. I am remembering the neighbor in Pullman, who he may have been the source of moving around items in the bathroom,

Whatever was going on with the doors/dog behavior should have been red flags to the residents. It should have been reported and repaired. JMOO

Stating the obvious, students believing this house was a coveted place to rent is part of the problem. Too many people coming and going, residents only feeling responsible for their bedroom, and neglect of basic issues like security, lighting, broken locks, and even deck access contributed. They could have done a lot better for $3k a month. It is just obvious and neglectful at minimum. JMOO

My thought would be more stirring, not fully awake but moving to incur random contact with the blade?. JMOO

IMO

All these issues should have been immediately reported to the landlord.

Landlord's key duties to tenants include maintaining a safe and habitable living space, making necessary repairs,
ensuring the property meets basic health and safety standards.

It is the Law.

New statement from
Stacy Chapin post sentencing ————————-

We’ve given a lot of thought to what we should say since 7/23 and have edited this a million times. The entire situation has been a tough pill to swallow but at the end of the day, we believe the outcome is the right one.

Most importantly, however, are the many people we want to thank - the true heroes in our lives:

The Moscow Police Department, ISP and FBI, who worked tirelessly on this case, and spent time away from their loved ones.

The prosecutors who openly communicated with transparency, answered every call and email, and were fantastic throughout this process.

The University of Idaho staff who consistently supported our family, especially Maizie and Hunter, from their first day of orientation through graduation this past May.

Our incredible extended family, friends, and the communities that continue to lift us up every day. They’re our backbone, and we recognize how fortunate and privileged we are to have this ongoing support.

All of the kids!! Close friends of the triplets, Greek family, and others who were part of this story from the very beginning. Although each of their experiences is different, all have suffered severe loss and trauma. We continue to be in awe of their strength, and will continue to support them in any way we can.

The media for providing us with opportunities to share our story while treating us with respect and care.

Finally, thank you, Ethan. You were only with us for 20 years, but you touched the lives of so many people. From the time you were a baby to when we dropped you off at college, you were an absolute joy and the glue that held our family together. We remember your smile, your laugh, how you kept us in check, and the many ways you brought happiness and light to any situation. There will never be another you. There would never have been enough time with you. We love you, miss you, and promise to continue honoring your legacy.

Stacy Chapin is an amazing woman. She has a way of reaching out to others to show appreciation and concern even though she and her family is bearing a terrible burden. Her focus is not on how Ethan died, but to be thankful that he ever lived.

Bryan Kohberger Prosecutor Speaks | "48 Hours" Podcast

What was it like to be the lead prosecutor in the Bryan Kohberger case, with the nation watching your every move? 48 Hours correspondent Peter Van Sant speaks with Latah County prosecutor Bill Thompson who opens up about the immense pressure of the Bryan Kohberger case, the emotional toll, and the controversy surrounding the plea deal. Why was there no requirement for Kohberger to reveal crucial information? And what really happened behind the scenes of the case that gripped the country?

BBM

Regarding the phone the NYT article said:

At the time Mr. Kohberger was arrested in December 2022, about seven weeks after the killings, investigators detailed cellphone data linking Mr. Kohberger to late-night visits he had made to areas around where the killings occurred. That suggested he had studied the scene of the murders before carrying them out.

But Mr. Thompson conceded on Thursday that those visits did not necessarily prove Mr. Kohberger had visited the home or surveilled it, as the area served by the cell tower infrastructure probably extended all the way to the main highway that brings people into town from Washington, where Mr. Kohberger lived.

BBM

IMO It’s likely he surveilled the home, but it can’t be proven from the cell records.
Okay then explain how when it came to Rex Huberman, Gilgo Beach Killer, why they were then able to use the cell tower pings of his phone to prove he was everywhere he was when dead bodies were found? Cause yes, cell phone towers will ping a geo location of where you've been, that's how they find people lost in the woods to lost in plane crashes that are still alive due to the cell towers and radio towers. It's a gps based ping with phone towers because everytime you aren't on the wifi, you are using the cell tower and the tower pings that info back to the carrier of the company you are using where it's data recording your gps location. So yes, cell phone records 100% can prove where you've been.

The NY metro area has a gazillion more cell towers than rural Idaho. They probably have one on every block — which makes it a lot easier to pinpoint specific locations. From Pullman to Moscow, they probably have less than 10 total. Locations near hills and/or valleys also affect tower pings.

"His Master's Asst. Prof at DeSales, MB, is the one who gave the Murderer a glowing recommendation. She said she had only other recommended one other Masters Student to a Doctoral Program in her 10 years.
She thought the Murderer was extremely bright and intelligent. She sounded rather impressed by him.
<snipped> 🤮
A former university professor said the accused killer was “one of my best students, ever” — and that the then-master’s candidate was one of only two students she has recommended to a Ph.D. program.
MB, an associate professor at DeSales University in Pennsylvania, told the Daily Mail that Kohberger, who was arrested in the murders of four University of Idaho students, was a “great writer” and “brilliant student.”
That is the glibness they are falling for, which is the manipulation tool of psychopaths to get what they want. They tend to love bomb people heavily if it means you have something they really want, they'll do whatever they can to secure it, even go so far as to steal, cheat the system, hack into tech, try to sleep with someone, etc... either to know everything they can about someone and they utilize it as a way to BOND with the person and win them over. Heck, they fake degrees to things on job resumes and can lie about the back history by studying who was the professor at the college during what year they graduated. They are masters of linguistics and are chameleons in society, they'll be able to move from state to state, change their entire identity without as second thought.

So not surprised no one caught him early, just like Ted Bundy, no one caught him early because he was super glib/charming and had a life that contradicted the profiler list of traits and looks, because they assumed it was an older man, who was traveling through.
