Well, Filby can be fearful now. He will be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life - however short or long that may be. He is now one of Australia's most despised people.

imo

This one isn’t paywalled….

Chilling photos reveal inside of bus where fugitive Dezi Freeman lived at time of fatal shooting

“The squalid conditions that Dezi Freeman and his family lived in at the time of the fatal shooting of two police officers have been revealed.

First look at inside of Freeman’s home

The property where the officers were killed has since been forensically examined and is no longer declared a crime scene.

However, police said the home was still an “area of concern”.

“That property has been searched by Victoria Police a number of times,” Detective Superintendent Jason Kelly told reporters on Wednesday.

Pictures from inside the bus where Freeman and his family lived show the kitchen sink filled with tools and dishes piled up inside a shelf, a short distance away from where the fatal shooting occurred.

Rubbish, pot plants and chairs are scattered across the yard in the back of the property, alongside cardboard boxes, metal drums, rolls of toilet paper, and a barbecue.”

Seems typical of what you would find in that kind of place.

Yes, I agree. For a squalid home it does look typical of a squalid home.

Experts or "experts"? And, what do the "experts" mean by "killing the movement at its source"?
I would say (with some decades of experience in media) the term "experts" is generally referred to a selection of contacts the reporter/journalist can call upon to ask questions about a specific event/crime,and they will be that news outlets "expert"

Is that a chicken and its droppings on the grey mat in the kitchen area?
And a deer skull near the BBQ?
Not very nice living conditions for a small child.

I can't quite work out if the annex to the bus is shown twice or if they had one on either side?

If on either side, it would show that there were 2 entries/ exits to the bus.

The article claims it was shocking sexual abuse and a disturbing episode involving a young girl years ago.
Surely that means there must be more to it than a swim in the nick.
10 cops were sent to Freeman's bus to carry out a search warrant for an historical sexual assault.
Swimming nude is not automatically sexual assault in Victoria, Australia.
Sentences for sexual assault vary depending on the specific circumstances of the offence, with community correction orders in the Magistrates' Court.
Alternatively, for indecent exposure in Victoria, an offender may receive a CCO and/or a fine.
IMO not only was Freeman being charged with the incorrect offence if the DM story is correct, it was totally OTT to send 10 officers with a crowbar and the ability to climb into his bus through a window. MOO
150% agree

Seems typical of what you would find in that kind of place.
Seems typical for those who have zero self respect or pride. similar disgusting conditions to those recently viewed of a certain property in Gin Gin QLD.
