Seems like it could have only been his 15 year old I think? 2 year old and wife were in the bus with him and 20 year old doesn't live with him. IMO
So where was the 15 year old boy ?

And I didn’t realise he had a 20 year old too.

I’ve wondered if the 15 year old is child of both Desi & current partner Marli ? Or only of one of them ?

Daily Mail report triggers new search area in hunt for Dezi Freeman

A new Daily Mail theory about how Dezi Freeman escaped and where he could be hiding now has prompted police to search a new area of bushland.

Senior reporter Jonica Bray believes Freeman may have kayaked down the fast-flowing Buckland River as a means of escape after ten officers descended on his compound in Porepunkah, 300km northeast of Melbourne, on August 26.

The new theory emerged after Daily Mail discovered a YouTube account belonging to the self-proclaimed sovereign citizen.

In one of the three videos uploaded to the account, Freeman is seen kayaking down the Buckland River, which runs along the perimeter of his isolated compound.

Bray explained the kayak would have allowed Freeman 'a much quicker escape' than trekking through dense bushland into the mountains on foot.

Just hours after Daily Mail shared the new theory, a police helicopter was seen flying over the Buckland River on Saturday morning.”

Is it just me or does the light look different than last night?
Yes I noticed that as well. It now seems to have been pointed down. Very strange.
It might have been a coincidence, but a big herd of black cows arrived at the spot soon after the people had the car boot open about 100m away from the light today. So were they stopped there to feed the cows. That airfield has made me loopier than I was before! For an airfield without planes, there's certainly been a lot of cars going back and forth doing god knows what.

As for Dezi canoeing to Myrtleford. I don't know about that. That would have taken some sort of super human courage to simply paddle away from allegedly shooting three police officers in front of your family and instead of scarpering into the hills that he knows like the back of his hand he jumps into a kayak. I don't think that happened.
My opinion is he has found a very good hiding place up at Mt Buffalo and I wish there was one of those microwave cameras pointed up in that direction for live vision the public could access like the very addictive south west one on the airfield.

BBM : He was in the "annex" where the police were, filming right until Desi fired the shots that murdered to cops & seriously injured another.

Porepunkah community stuck in limbo as police search for alleged gunman Dezi Freeman continues

The manhunt for alleged gunman Dezi Freeman has stretched into its third week, leaving Porepunkah residents in limbo.

Local business owners say police warnings against visiting the town in Victoria's north-east has caused business to plummet.

There have been no confirmed sightings of Mr Freeman since the August 26 shooting that left two police officers dead.”

We're at the ~20 day mark. Hypothetically - barring any breakthrough like a sighting, or significant new evidence - when do you think VicPol will start scaling back the heavy presence / full scale ground operations?

It's hard to predict. With 2 of their own dead, they might keep it going longer than would otherwise do. I hope they have Intel and are not simply 'looking'.

Thanks everyone for the updates !
Hoping they can catch him soon without anyone being harmed.

Interstate sightings

Acting Deputy Commissioner Barrett says the search is not just focussed on Victoria's north-east.

He says police are considering sightings from interstate but woudn't say which states they are.

Maybe when it gets too costly to keep maintaining that heavy presence. Though I have no idea when that would be of course.

I'm just wondering where all those 450 officers are. That's a huge number of people looking for nearly 3 weeks.
In fact I highly doubt there is that many to be honest and I think they have already scaled back.
Obviously they aren't all at Porepunkah, but where are they all sleeping, there must be a big catering business etc
If the costs so far have run into millions of dollars then perhaps the reward should be increased.
The reward was said to be 'up to $1 million', whatever that means and that's just for Dezi's arrest.
I personally don't think $1m is a life changing amount, as was stated by police.
There's probably people who won't be happy someone dobbing in Dezi, so the person who collects the reward money will have to be watching over their shoulder.
So perhaps increase the reward to reflect that risk.
TBH if there's 450 officers looking for Dezi, I'd like to see them saturate the Mt Buffalo area and rule all that bushland out as dezi's hiding place as I believe that's the most obvious place where he would go. MOO

For all we know that’s exactly what they are doing ie storing the bushland. As you say 450 officers is a lot
