( this article outlines the saga of the producer of a TV show who had to put up with Dez's fetishes, mainly his deeply held belief that he was a victim. Always. Especially when he was the agressor. It was Dez's go-to position, as soon as he put a foot wrong, instantly, he became The Victim. Dez thought he was the Guardian of Mt Buffalo, and that people (authority ) were preventing him from accessing his own fiefdom... )

''''As we toured his home, he complained he wouldn’t be there much longer: his landlord was evicting him, and he put forward an unsubstantiated conspiracy of people he believed had convinced his landlord to remove him.

This is when it clicked that Dezi was a man endlessly pre-occupied by a battle to protect his world, even when he had no solid proof to legitimise his fears, and he was so obsessed with protecting it, he would resort to airing his dirty laundry on national TV.''''

Mr Filby seems quite a bit like an "injustice collector"

Injustice collecting is frequently a lifetime pattern and includes perceptions of being victimized by others through small and insignificant slights, real or imagined, which the injustice collector magnifies and perceives as purposeful, personal, and intended.

Wangaratta fire brigade tribute to two police officers killed

G
By Gabriela Rahardja

Emergency services in Wangaratta observed two minutes of silence on Thursday night for the two police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty on Tuesday.

The Wangaratta Fire Brigade was joined by Ambulance Victoria staff and surrounding CFA brigades to perform a salute in front of parked fire trucks.

The tribute was followed with two long horns — one each for Detective Leading Senior Constable Neal Thompson and Senior Constable Vadim De Waart.

This is the second time I've read something along the lines of him considering himself the guardian or owner of Mt Buffalo. Does anyone know any more about this? Like, what was his thought process there? Where did this come from? Guarding it from what or who?

For a long time , as a small child, I thought I owned the Shoalhaven river....... it dawned on me slowly that I owned absolutely nothing in regard to this river, age was what did it.

Paraphrased:

Nephew Luke Filby, 38 says about Dezi

  • Has an obsession with guns joked about bringing them to a christmas lunch
  • Had a hatred for police for decades & had become increasingly hateful towards government.
  • Luke is considering changing his surname Fibly as it;s now tarnished
  • He scared the hell out of him
  • He and his immediate family supported the police force and were grateful for their ongoing service
  • He wouldn’t be surprised if the fugitive had bunkers or hiding places on his Rayner Track property

After the amount of site fees I pay down that way, I could probably dream like you that I also own it! 💸

PS:- and still not catch a damned fish there! 🤣

The rain is continuing to fall, making the manhunt for Dezi Freeman even more difficult.

An Ambulance Victoria helicopter has also just landed at police headquarters in Porepunkah. It flew out of Wangaratta airport around 10.30am.

A convoy of about a dozen police vehicles, including a BearCat, then left the compound in the direction of Bright and Porepunkah after 11am.

I wonder if Mr Desmond Filby has a middle name which he also dislikes and would like to change - eg Cuthbert, Cecil, Ambrose, Aloysius, Ethelbert, Hurtle?

Lots of Italian ancestry folks around Porepunkah, due to the previous tobacco farming, some old Italian clubs, bocce, archery, etc.. Myrtleford has the Savoy Club, a big org in town, lots of intermarriage between the old Italian families.. I doubt that Dez would have got much of a toe hold among them, they understand very well all there is to know about fascism and police states.. Fabio, the little friend of Mali's would be an outlier among them...

‘Every day my husband goes to work there’s a chance he won’t come home’

“While we’re waiting for more information from police about their efforts to find Dezi Freeman, journalist Stephanie Packer has unpacked the challenging emotions she felt after hearing of the shooting deaths of officers Neal Thompson and Vadim de Waart.

“My husband is a regional police officer, as was Thompson.

Most days, I manage to push my husband’s job to the back of my mind. It’s easier for my own mental health not to think about the risks he faces daily: the unstable people, the isolated and the drug-addled, the irrational, the downright bad.

While it’s now clear that police had some concerns about Dezi Freeman before they attended his property in Porepunkah, it’s impossible to believe any of them could have expected how tragically events would turn out when they set off to serve the known conspiracy theorist with a search warrant.

Some nights, when my husband is late home, my brain can’t help but start to play out the worst-case scenario.”

Vic Emergency warning people across alpine region to 'remain vigilant'

A
By Andi Yu

This is what the Vic Emergency app warning currently looks like in relation to the police search for Dezi Freeman.

It says there's a "dangerous person" warning in areas surrounding Porepunkah including Wangaratta, Mount Beauty, Mount Buller and Nagambie.

Screen shot from the Vic Emergency website.
Warning in place about a 'dangerous person' in north-east Victoria.

That's at least 20 years that he's been using that name.
